  • People Hearing for the First Time Part 2! Deaf & Hearing Impaired Get Cochlear Implants
From Silence to Sound - hearing loss can be described as an invisible disability.
Whilst hearing aids or cochlear implant are not some magical ‘fix’ for deaf people, because DEAF PEOPLE DON’T NEED TO BE FIXED. They’re just a tool to access sound and watching people experience this new sensory experiences so humbling.

Stacey Mohanty they dont know what it sounds like. It doesn’t matter if they know what a word looks like and what it means. They have never heard it so they wouldn’t hear a word for the first time an instantly know what it means. Thats like saying a blind person who can suddenly see for the first time in his life could name all the colors he sees.

It's not every day I get to see pure joy wash over someone. Thanks. (and I need another box of tissues) I once saw a video of a young woman who had all her ugly rotted teeth replaced, and when they gave her a mirror, I saw her face light up, and then twist into what looked like pain. But it wasn't pain, it was joy. Pure joy.
