Chain Saw HACK 1 - Chop Saw

- Hi. My name is Darek and in this video I'll show you Chain Saw HACK 1 - Chop Saw Some stuff I used:
The Chain saw STIGA 405 2HP
The Belt 10 mm
The Ball bearings UCPA 201 x2
The Metal cutting blade 300 x 32 x 3,2 mm
A Set of home made pulley 1:1,75
One aluminum sheet (cover)
What do I think about this modification? My saw was unregulated and didn't have full power. Pulley in the saw should be made from hard material (hard wood, aluminium or steel)
The spring washers must be used in all screw.
For certainty you must use a counter nut to fix the blade.

Made in Poland to make it spin faster make the diameter of the wooden piece smaller
Terrifying genius. Amazing!
Very cook hack! I could find use for that!
Really, really nice, man. Looks like one of those big firemen's tools. :D
Great video great tool to have ! God Bless You Brother, God Bless Poland 🇵🇱
That´s not safe
I like it!

You are so good on what you do man.. Keep it up :)
You rule man, excellent ! 👌
There could be problem that these rpms don't match together so it could be very dangerous to crushing the blade
Very nice idea. I hope to make more videos
You sir are a surgeon with the death wheel on the grinder.
Would it cut 15cm concrete? Because the demonstration shows cutting steel, which can cut by a usual angle grinder i think.
But very nice idea!!
super pomysł jak zwykle Ciekawe filmy pozdrawiam
When Stiga isn't making table tennis tables, they're making...chain saws?
Something not that commonly seen on RUclips anymore today: A proper hack! Made with simple, basic tools, and a result that appears both functional and reasonably safe. I like that you took the time to add proper belt and blade guards, something many people will skip when making such a hack. I agree that the pulleys should be made from a different material, not so much because of hardness but because the wood will warp and potentially come apart during use. Stacked up differently sized plates of sheet aluminium, screwed together and then turned to shape on the "late"/drill press could work. Or even just make them from a solid piece of aluminium, using a file and the hack-lathe method.
For speed regulation a governor system similar to the ones used on cheap power generators could be used, that should be quite easy to add to the existing chainsaw motor!
Oh, and another source for pulleys: Just check your local car scrapheap! Water pumps and generators in many cars have easily removable pulleys that are simple to adapt for your use, and they should be next to free (they are usually trashed together with the broken pump/generator). Especially many older cars will use the same type of belt you are using.
Cool beast but unless you have an old chainsaw around, the parts cost more than a new purpose manufactured tool....but cool and creative!
Que show ficou d+.
Nice one. Thanks
I love it!!!
My guy made a death machine lol
why don't I just buy a grinder?
just playing my friend cool invention

fantastic! I was waiting for a video like this.
Styl filmików jak w "Make it extream", warto zobaczyć jego filmy. Doganiasz go w pomysłach, maszyna 10/10. Powodzenia 😉
Loved it. The way you made the belt pulleys out of plywood discs was very cool !! You ARE the chainsaw hacker man !
coll
You're great at what you do, I like how u made the wooden pulley wheels, although if you were looking at using this machine a lot, metal or nylon would be more robust. 👍
You should change the name of your channel to "Made in Awesome"
Very nice
NICE JOB ! WELL DONE ! BRAVO !
The only channel I'm subscribed to that makes useful Hacks and tools :)
Awesome videos.
I've been looking at still saws there bloody expensive lol... I have two chain saws and I can see me having a go at the... great job keep up the good work!

Very very good!!! Greeting from spain
Again..... A great project! Super cool and a dangerous machine. Just the way I like it hahahaha. Keep up the good work. Always enjoying your videos!
Why dangerous? You can buy same. His saw have covers for disc and belt, so no problem.
Michal Rimmerak
That does not matter if it has guards and all other safety measures. It still is a dangerous machine to work with! That was how I meant my comment.
Really.....I love this guy! Inventive and smart. Just my kind of guy.
Marcel Herwijnen
@@michalrimmerak1646 he means it's dangerous so it is cool. He likes it.
...... still have to be smart when using it.

I LOVE THIS BEAST !!!!!!!
Very cool attachment. I need to make one for myself. I'd make the concrrte version with a concrete blade on it. Those concrete saws are incredibly expensive.
Awesome work! You have still your chainsaw and you have a cordless angle grinder charged for ever! (Indoor use on own risk:-)
Kick ass I think it would look really cool if your blade guard resembled the rear fender off of a vintage Indian Chief motorcycle!!Great job as is though
Whoa great job! This is awesome!!!💪🏻👊😊

wow! amazing:) is the saw for sale?
Very good inventive mind my friend. Be careful with your hands, you put them threw some serious stuff....

Hi
Is it possible to make trencher saw to lay cable?
Nice! Combination within of chop saw position would be wicked 😉.

średnie ale i tak szanuje ;)
Nice job :)
That is super! Easier to cut up stuff for repurposing, as you demonstrated! Thanks for sharing!
Muy buen proyecto, saludos desde México.
I'm of the opinion...Why buy when you can build. It's a boatload more fun.
There wasn't no lathe yet? Or why wood?
Too bad for tool
Awesome
great job for one more time.....
i think somehow that you need to find a lathe....after that your limit will be only the sky....
congratulations
Typostech Engineering .
What's the ratio of the belt pulley? And what kind of iron is the safety guard made of?
I na to czekałem 👍 kolejna porcja dobrze wykonanej roboty 👍👌
The same but with concret cutting disk.
An ingenious invention for stealing scrap metal :)
Useless
I enjoy the way you work. Congratulations.
A potem w środku lasu most pocięli :)
Podoba mi się !
This is a great job ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐👍👍👍👍👍
I have one with a 12 inch blade size. It was a Target masonry saw but the heavy motor finally comply wore out. I had a super good running Echo CS - 40 that I put the blade on. It gets used all the time.
really cool stuff!

i wonder how long the plywood components last, wont they break in a few weeks?
HOLA
Sei un grande!!!
Awesome, every day it is more surprising
God video :)
This is awesome!! Nice work!
I like it. Have an old chainsaw back in the shed and just might build one. Not sure about the wooden pulleys though. I can just see some of my hill billy friends trying this... "Hold my beer." followed by "OOOPS mah leg."
SMART IDEA,
Good job. looks like a real chop saw too. Bet it would struggle with the concrete and slabs as only a baby saw
Awesome build.
👏👍
This is a chainsaw hack?? Huh... Abrasive cut off saws built on the chainsaw design have been around for decades. Seems to me it would be far simpler to get an abrasive cut off conversion kit. Not to mention the conversion kit would most likely make use of a centrifugal clutch, which would make the saw more powerful. I know this is true because I replaced the bar and chain on my old saw, but accidentally jammed the clutch during reassembly. You couldn't put any force into the cut as it killed the engine. Once I fixed the clutch, the saw cut like a champ. On this hack, I have to wonder how long those wooden pulleys will last before needing to be replaced. If this guy would use a clutch with chain drive, he'd really have something. Probably saved a good bit of money over buying a conversion kit.
You just made a demo saw 😂😂
Extremely brilliant fabrication superb engineering, but and I do not mean this in a demeaning way the job is not economically viable because it must have taken at least two days to fabricate the parts = £200 plus the cost of the steel and wood say £30 plus assembly and test another £100 so total £330. Where I live we have regular tool boot sales and for £200 I can easily buy a chainsaw and still saw albeit second hand but working well. I know what I would do.
Tidy job Darek
FRIGGIN INGENIOUS!!!
I love watching these guys with the mega shops.... you know??? The kind of dude that can fabricate a friggin helicopter out of beer cans over a long weekend!!!
VERY COOL MAN!!!
