    Think one of the main reasons Ford went with a dual throttle body set up on the Gen 4 Coyote is because of the addition of more restrictive intake emission carbon traps in the 22 and 23 Gen 3 Coyotes. You can find videos online of an additional honey comb filter inside the intake tubing. Also the 22 and 23 GT's were slightly down on power since they had the additional restriction.

      You’re absolutely correct, just want to add that as the owner of a 2023 (who also test drove 2021s) that I can’t tell I’m missing 10 hp. I doubt most people, other than perhaps serious track folks, could.
      The car has plenty of power. Best place to spend your money on is upgrading tires and suspension so that you can get all those angry horses to the road properly.
      Just my opinion.

    Absolutely love the 2024, so much that I bought one. So many things about this car that is just years ahead of past years. The first is the digital dashboard, something you have to get used to but does have its pluses. The Recaro interior, heated and cooled front seats (wish they’d figured out a way to make them power adjustable) , Brembo brakes, and the increase in power over previous years. When you raise the hood it looks like you’re already doing over 100 mph with the twin throttle bodies. What more can I say.

    @joshuaheck5106 Год назад +5

    The Dual Throttle paired with the Dual Air Intakes are there to reduce induction loss, which inreases maximum achievable airflow. For a naturally aspirated engine: MAP = Ambient Pressure - Induction Loss. So, if Pamb = 100 kPa, and at peak power induction losses are 4 kPa, MAP is 96 kPa. Flow losses change with the SQUARE of flow area, so if you double the area, you reduce the losses to 1/4. So the same engine with dual intakes could have 99 kPa of MAP instead of 96, wich will deliver about 3% more airflow, and that means about 3% more power.

      @@joelsavage8254 It will look great, but performance gains with a turbo may not be significant depending on where the bottle neck is. I think the reason for this move, like mentioned in the video, is atomization by means of swirling air into the manifold. The Corvette Z06 and Porsche GT3 are a good example of using this and pressure waves to create positive pressure of sorts for the high revving engines.

      You would have to convert the car from maf to map. Not that it can’t be done but it would take unnecessary money to do especially for the gains you’d get or lack there of. Sure it would look cool with two feeds going into the intake, but it would be much more cost effective and probably make just about the same power as keeping the gen 3 manifold on.

      all the wild NA production builds usually feature multiple throttle bodies. new corvette 5.5 comes to mind, pretty much any ferrari, tons of german engines, even Nissan’s vq engine went to dual throttle body. seems to be a slight bump in power by reducing the manifolds volume, shortening the intake path length and adding an additional throttle body. more air less time to hit the cylinder and w the high rpm they’re running these na engines it works really well to draw in more air at least that’s my understanding.

      A 80MM TB is way too small for a GEN3+ Coyote. That's barely bigger than an old factory LS1 TB. Hell a 87MM TB is too small for a GEN5 LT1 that redlines at 6,500 RPM's, and a 103MM setup offers pretty decent gains. On a DOHC engine that has heads that flow comparable to a GEN5 6.2L head, and wants to spin well past 7K RPM to make competitive power an 80MM setup leading into the intake is ridiculously small. The dual TB setup might be an emissions thing from the factory, but IMO it's going to bleed over into the performance side of the equation once tuners start learning how to tweak on these. Hell Ford emissions requirements didn't lighten up for 2024, and they're using this setup to produce a 20 HP bump over the Bullitt/Mach1's 87MM TB and manifold. Will this be a better option than a new CJ? IDK, but I'd bet it's HP potential will better an 18-23 MGT's manifold

    I think the dual looks cool. That being said it doesn’t add anything from a performance stand point according to Ford. Not sure why Ford didn’t use a bigger single and bigger air intake to counter the carbon epa stuff. I think it’s going to be a tuning nightmare when or if comes available. Until somebody shuts EPA demands down, the muscle car from my generation is completely dead. For me I like the new Stang from a daily driver standpoint. An I like the new Whipple/Ford kit, just wished my wallet like the new pricing. An one thing that’s extremely aggravating is gas guzzler tax on all manual’s.

      If it was a traditional flat plane firing order it would've helped immensely in making more power. The problem is the coyote block just isn't setup well for a flat plane crank. The rod ratio just doesn't work well. You need a block with way bigger bores in order for it to be an efficient flat plane design. This is why the lt6 is in a completely different family that the rest of the lt engines.

    How drivability can be sacrificed if you go to a larger throttle body(single throttle body).
    It’s all to do with when the butterfly brakes it’s seal and creates complex turbulence.
    Less of that the better.
