@@disguisedcentennial835Yeah. I mean, it made sense to me. I just didn't care because it was already expected, and didn't really think of it as a betrayal, since it never seemed like Caitlyn trusted or cared about her that deeply. We get hints of it, because Ambessa implies she has a mole several times, and warns Cait that she's getting too close to someone (with the only person it could be referring to at that point being Maddie). Ambessa also says Vi left a void that she could fill (via Maddie), and Maddie eavesdrops on Caitlyn and Vi. I think it was one of the only weak points, because, yeah, I can look back and see the clues, but they tell me nothing about Maddie, and she isn't that good of a spy either since her being one doesn't really help Ambessa beyond Caitlyn getting knocked out, which literally any Noxian soldier could have done.
Jinx actually made it imo. There's a few frames of shimmer light escaping the blast, Caitlyn sees the ventilation shaft diagram while holding the monkey bomb, and then you see the blimp fly away (the same blimp that Powder said she's going to ride in one day in episode 1). There's no reason to show those diagrams and end on the blimp if not to hint she made it. Similarly, Silco's speech to her in episode 8 is about "walking away". At the same time, I really didn't want her to die. I don't like self-sacrifice especially with characters with suicidal tendencies like Jinx.
Plus we see a final shot of a zeppelin flying away (reference to S1E1 where she says she wants to fly one) and the "THE END" written with her style. (and, maybe I'm delusionnal but I think we get a glimpse of Ekko's eyes move to the left when he watches the burning paper fly away, as if he just saw Powder come back to say goodbye one more time, thanking him for saving her in the Last Drop)
doesnt matter....I still hate that they made it a cliffhanger yeah if you want then you can think she got away but if you dont then actually we never see her again so...what I do wish is that anyone who is suicidal had someone like Ekko in their life :D
I wish Riot surprised us all and had 2 parts for the last episode. Watching episode 7 and knowing there were only 2 more, I felt sad anticipating it would be rushed. Also, no mention of Isha was bad...
@@marianvajda785 - Yeah. There is no real point of adressing Isha after her death. She was only used in Jinx's arc as a plot point and well, we saw the aftermath of her depression and she understanding that, where she was, she would eternally jinx everything around her. No point in mentioning Isha.
Isha brought Jinx back from her psycho form. Jinx was like a older sister or a mother to her and after she was devastated. I'm glad they made Jinx a character with some feelings inside since in season 1 she was just crazy.
They had in total a budget of $250 million, and by the gods every penny is shown in every frame. Remember, the two main writers are novices, this is their first fray into this medium. I've seen people burn through the same amount of money with not even a glimmer of story or feelings ('Save Martha!'). What they managed to get out is nothing else but a damn miracle. In many ways they heighten the art of animation. This would be extremely hard, near impossible to make IRL. Is it perfect? No, but sometimes something is more valuable with imperfections. Because then there's always room for improvement. I'm sure that whatever they will continue with they've learned so much. Wouldn't be too surprised if Netflix isn't breeding down their necks with the urge of more shows. Riot/Fortiche and Netflix has with the quality of the story and the animation in combination with the release schedule found Netflix golden ticket. Is there any other series that has garnered this much hype in ages? Last I remember was HBO'S Game of thrones. You can bet that Netflix will not slaughter their golden goose. And that Riot has found a new way to to get people interested in their other stuff to... Maybe 🤔😂
Arcane was revolutionary for the industry. One of the best shows of all time. The art style, animations, voice acting, music character buildup and oh Lord the ending was so fulfilling because it didn't leave any cliff hangers.
Exactly I feel like the isha sacrifice was planned as jinx sacrifice before or something idk it just felt so out of place and the whole MCU feeling of the last episode in general
I agree with this Ambessa motives while not from no where seem crazy rushed. Just didnt make sense after the death of all those peole things. Went at Mach 5 speed
Idk if you can blame the last 2 episodes alone though. I think without more time to set things up there wasn't really any way to finish the whole story off.
Right like I still don't get how Jayce's interaction with alter future Viktor led him to try to kill his Viktor and almost lose all of Piltover before finally trying to help him
There's good evidence Jinx isn't dead: - Pink shimmer flash and line which follows her superspeed can be seen going into an airvent before the explosion - Caitlyn is looking at the archives of the vents indicating where she found some monkey bomb, indicating her body was never found - The ship flying of is likely to be Jinx from multiple foreshadowings ("One day, I'm gunna fly in one of those things.") - It's heavily alluded to the Jinx wants to "break the cycle" (alluded to by Silco and Ekko), at first she thought the solution was suicide, but now she see's it was sacrafice, so she fakes here death and leaves to help create peace - Last frame is in jinx writing... Is this cope? Possibly... but the evidence is honestly good...
I honestly just wish Jinx and my man Ekko find some happiness, they're both pretty broken and were both written to help each other heal. Plus I wanna see more of Ekko now that I've seen him full LoL kit with Z-drive and sword.
For me season 1 was perfect, a pure 10/10 and one of the only 10/10s I've ever given. I do feel season 2 tried to do too much and showed a few cracks as a result though, it definitely could've benefitted from 3 seasons instead of 2, with season 2 giving more time to delve into then wrap up the human stories from season 1, before providing a bit more setup for the fantastical ones to take place in a season 3 (or something like that). But what we got (season 2) is still a solid 9/10 for me! It's definitely something special and I really did love it! Such a great show! My fav of all time!
Totally agree. I don't know if you've played League but the fantasy side was just a matter of time, at least for me. It was crazy to see why Jayce is called "The protector of tomorrow" in the game and it was shown in episode 7
Can't Agree more. Season 1 was perfect, however season 2 just didn't have all the time to fully delve into what was going on. I feel season 3 would've made everything drag on more without more content so I would say a couple more episodes would've been better.
Season 1 was a perfectly executed slam dunk. Season 2 was a three-pointer but the ball danced around the basket's rim for a moment. It was more ambitious, maybe not as clean, but it still achieved its goal. Hope my basketball reference makes sense. (I don't know that much about the sport)
The highlight and lowlight of S2 are the exact same thing. The artists, writers, directors, etc were so amazing at making full stories out of literally a couple of frames, which was amazing to see (i.e. Paint the town blue), but since they were strapped for time, they leaned on this way too much, whereas I would have liked to have a deep dive into a lot of those stories (i.e. Paint the town blue) rather than see them as a montage or a couple of frames.
Just remember, this was meant to be an experiment, and who knew that it would become this great .Im excited to see what they can do with this momentum they have.
7.5/10 - solid act; not the greatest finish, but it was moderately satisfying. some of the writing decisions felt contrived, but the characters i cared about got pretty good arcs, especially ekko. arcane kind of ruined a lot of in-game lore but it’s also the most involved take on the league of legends universe to date. i hope a noxus/demacia series is in the works. overall, i think the pacing could have been improved and some story arcs could’ve been resolved in a more compelling way, but it was an exciting and bittersweet final act to a very good story.
What I don’t understand is how Ambessa, a cunning, merciless leader preaching honor on the battlefield, gets so easily invested into viktor. The guy turns your soldiers into zombies with a single touch, and wants, for a reason or another, touch magic itself. Like you really think that 1: It’s honourable to make use of almost invincible hive-mind creatures? 2: The guy couldn’t and wouldn’t then turn people against their will? Also why does Mel, the only one Ambessa would at least open an ear to, not tell her she’s dooming not only her enemies, but her nation as well?
What's even funnier is the fact that Ambessa is portrayed as evil to Mel by the Black Rose. So Mel kills her mother and then realizes the Black Rose is evil, like that wasn't apparent from the start. Yes, Ambessa was being a dumbass by attacking Piltover, but she needed the hextech weapons to have a chance at fighting the Black Rose. After watching season 1 twice before this season, it's just a shame how this ended up.
Yeah I think the soldiers just respect Ambessa's decision. If she wanted the soldiers to intervene, she would have given the order. Noxians are supposed to value strength above all, and these kind of duels (it was a 1v2, but Caitlyn was already wounded and Ambessa clearly had a gear advantage as well, so I guess it's still a balanced fight) are probably common when it comes to determine who's the most fit to be at the top spot.
Mel becomes Rell with Ambessa’s mask. Another Madarta leader of noxious leadership. And swain flying with the fleet. Remember Swain established 3 generals to keep the others in check. Leblanc is getting too arrogant now
I think it was perfect and a masterpiece. Yes, it was fast, but in my opinion that made it the best show ever. There could be an other season or two, but what made this show how good it was that there was no fillers, it was chaotic, you likely do not see and realize everything on the first watch, you got to watch again and research the parts and the connections and the parallels, a lot of things happen outside of the screen and you have to connect them. I think they closed every line they needed, the Black Rose and Mel storyline is likely next, as the new show will be almost certainly based around Noxus (whole introduction of Ambessa, The Black Rose, Swain watching everything at the end), so we will get our answers about Ambessa and Mel likely (hopefully not in 3 years lmao)
All in all, Arcane was amazing. One of the best shows I have watched. For me, Season one really showed the people side, the politics and how it impacted people's lives. I felt like it expanded on the world. Season 2 was good, but it felt rushed and missed out on showing the wider impact, with a focus on wrapping up character arcs. I also felt the jumping around, focusing on magic, timelines, multiple universes difficult to follow. It kind of made sense in the end, but it is hard to feel fully invested and confused at the same time. Season one was a 10/10. Season 2 was a 7/10. Overall amazing.
i got pretty much everything i wanted. yeah, the pacing was fast but the story and all plotlines are pretty clear. the ending is perfect for all characters imo (I think it's pretty obvious Jinx is alive based on all the hints and I see no reason to not believe Viktor and Jayce are together in some magic/cosmic realm). So we lost a few important characters which is good since the stakes were high but they didn't delve too hard into tragedy. I expected Black rose/Mel's line to not be finished since I think we're going to see more in the show about Noxus/Demacia
11/10 masterpiece. Amazing storytelling and its so rare for shows to actually make you feel engaged with EACH AND EVERY CHARACTER, usually its just 1 or 2 but arcane makes you feel like you know them personally and watched all of them grow
i would disagree. some characters i really just did not care about. i’d say a few characters also did not get satisfying conclusions to their story arcs. season 2 was good but it definitely had its fair share of issues. i’m glad they didn’t drag it out to three seasons, but some improvements could be made.
@@eebbaa5560what characters did not have a satisfied end in ur opinion I’d say to little savika And Singed did technically win and had no consequences .
I gotta admit. They needed way more damn time to make all this shit work. Like it feels characters change on a dime and a lot of other shit just feels super goddamn weird. 6/10 season, 8/10 show
Also why couldn’t Jayce show Viktor everything to begin with? Why did he feel the need to kill Salo? Why the fuck didn’t this season get more episodes involving Jayce going through it in the hellish future realm? Also how the fuck is Viktor the wizard? How can he travel across multiple dimensions?
Its really not true. Unlike other shows which are just trying to find ways to keep the show going and keep getting paid, this show had a plan from the start, trims all the fat and gets to the point, while still having time to focus on the art. Each 3 ep arc is like a really well written season of tv. Im just sad its over.
Fr the whole of s2 felt like things wouldn't have happened if characters were allowed to just talk to each other instead of crashing out to the point of almost losing Piltover entirely. A plot focused so much on climbing up to a dramatic crescendo that it fails the fundamentals of what would have made that flow perfectly. If each season had been 12 episodes, the epilog for s1 that was eps 1-3 for s2 wouldn't have taken up so much screen time out of s2 and s2 could've had so much more time to explore everything it needed to.
it's just the sotry beats, but they handled it in such a way that you can have both a longer seasons of them and then just this, either way though, AMAZING SHOW and grateful for episode 7, best one coping mechanism they've created in a while
Jinx survives: 1. When she explodes with vander with her grenade if you look top right you can see a flash of purple representing her purple shimmer dash so that means she probably escaped 2. Vi does not grieve jinxes death after she "dies" which could be a mistake or the studio didn't have enough time but the loose end would be so big it doesn't make sense a great studio like Riot would miss something like that 3. Ekkho burns ONE piece of paper representing the loss of HEIMERDGHINER not Jinx meaning she is alive and Ekkho knows it 4. Jinx says in episode 1 she wants to leave on one of those blimps and a blimp flies off ino the distance and then Jinxes trauma flashback sequence happens right at the end of the series 5. Caitlyn looks at the hecxgates schematics and sees there is an air duct that jinx escaped and she is holding a Jinx monkey while doing so showing she was thinking about Jinx when she was looking at the hexgate schematics.
The finally got so high concept that I feel like they lost out on the more simple things. Like we didn't have the same level of drama and politics compared to season one
Man i cant get over how it's done. But what a ride. Jinx finally learning not to Jinx anything, flying away, Cait knowing (with her well established investigative abilitiez), Ekko only burning a paper for Heimi but not Jinx. Although we lose a lot of ppl, we actually get a rather happy ending all things considered. It just has the messi feeling like real life, hence why it's so good
Im happy with it and disappointed. So many questions still suspended: "what did mel to the black rose ? Why ? Why is Warwick alive while other puppets aren't ? Why is it a beast ? Did Singed failed an experiment ? He got threw with Orianna tho How did Viktor got his 3rd arm and 2nd body ? Why is Ambessa 1v2 ? What the fuck happened to Heimerdinger did he really just zapped out of existence i guess ? Why is the 7th episode after the 6th ? Why am I crying ?
warwick’s whole arc was very unsatisfying imo. they didn’t do anything meaningful with him in the end. also singed deserved more screen time and an actual resolution to his arc besides just disappearing after evolving viktor and showing orianna at the end (they should’ve spent a little more time on her and explained her existence). ambessa is 1v2 because mel is probably a support lol so caitlyn mel are gonna be able to go in a duo lane lol
@@mehmetgüneş-y2oIt's Viktor's in season 1, too. Jayce burns the poro with it because he throws the hex crystal and catches it, and the laser follows the hex crystal, but Viktor is the one with the arm.
3:20 imo it was pretty obvious, noxians value honor over anything, and ambessa accepted a duel (technically a 1v2) voluntarily. We've seen similar stuff in movies countless times
Ngl this season gave mix feelings, but Ekko did well for someone who had less screan time. I would add/fix some, but I wasn't disappointed. I do expect to see smt like Enemy mv, songs having clips that we didn't see in the show (they did in the show itself, but I'm talking separately)
I liked Act 1 and Act 2. It was so good. Then Act 3 came. Man, it was rough. Mostly the final episode and mishandling of Warwick. Needed one more episode to properly wrap it up because it did feel rushed. But yeah I think nobody actually died. It's an origin story. It is, even with lore deviations, those are there so the origin stories can work. So, overall, if that's what it is, I'm 100% down for it.
Ekko, the character everyone agreed was the least problematic, managed to save the whole world but not the person he loved, especially after getting to experience a life where things ended up well for him… I’m broken man
Jinx took Silco advice and walked away. she shimered away and lived and even Cait knows she is alive saying it out loud would ruin it. I was in tears until X showed me the proof. she lives!!!!!!!!!
definitely it didnt need the sex scene but i guess they needed to calm the shippers, the Vander enforcer and the fish guy got a lot of screen time for prop characters and the story has a mayor problem (as most of stories with time travel) if Jayce was never meant to win his fight against Viktor and his real objective was to show him the future and himself, the shooting Viktor and resistance against him is pointless and all those deads should have not happened, i guess one could imply that he needed to evolve so he and Jayce are destroyed/sent to another realm and stop the hextech development but its not clear from the final ep
In a prison cell is crazy. I also wish writers would stay away from time travel. I like ekko's 4 second limit, doesn't completely break the verse with contradictions
I thought the sex scene was beautiful, Vi being mad that Jinx tricked her again, thinking Cait will dump her again, but realizes she has forgiven Jinx and her too for everything and despite making the wrong choice every time she made one correct, and that is Cait. For Cait, she knows they are more than likely dying that day, and just let their emotions go. In the place that they first met and Vi has endured so much pain in, I can not think of a better place and time tbh. It was a well written love story.
I understand them wanting to change and adapt current canon, but it kind of bothers me how they did not end it with the status quo of the stories and characters already established in canon. Victor doesn’t become a robot man, Jayce doesn’t go on to further Hextech, Caitlyn losing an eye, Jinx supposedly dying, although it was hinted she survived and was on that blimp in the final scene. Warwick not mutating to become a full on Wolf creature, etc. I really liked the established canon and now that it’s been changed, I am a bit pieced and perplexed. But as a show and a story, I do still really like it. I just don’t know if Riot will rewrite the already widely known backstory to fit this show. If it wasn’t fully canon, I wouldn’t care at all. Am I crazy for thinking this? What does everyone else think?
I think in one of the interviews I watched they mentioned that the get to where their canon is in the games and past that point - meaning they aren’t really ending at the in game lore
Warwick looks more like a wolf creature now more than before. He still had a human Vander like face before in the Victor sanctuary. Now he's just a beast.
Thank you!!! You get what i mean i dont hate it its just needed more time so it dont feel rushed people thinking i hate it since i personally gave it a 8.5 out of 10 is amazing but not perfect
About the pacing : I would have to process it a bit more, probably rewatch the last 3 episodes, to determine whether I feel it's actually too rushed or not. I do have a bit of that feeling for now, mostly for the last episode, but it may change upon rewatching, we'll see. As for the rest, I feel like all the character arcs were well wrapped up in a satisfactory manner, with the glimpse of hope at the end embodied by Caitlyn and Vi's relationship. And as always, the art and animation were 12/10
If you see in slo mo you can see a purple light leave the blast. And it justifies Cait looking at the ventilation shaft in that area. Jinx basically flashed out of there in time
Season 1 was amazing. The world building, the dialogue, the tension. It all felt more lived in. Characters had their reasons for doing things and their choices made the plot happened. To me, it felt like season 2 has more plot driving characters' actions than the other way around, especially all of act 3. Act 3 seemed like it was a story told by a kid playing with his action figures.
they're definitely teasing Mel as a future playable character. And the next series will probably have Mel as a vocal point with her maybe confronting Swain. It has to be set in Noxus they tease it so hard with Mel taking over the Medarda family and Swains crow at the end. And i'm definitely here for it if that's where they go next
I also think the story deserved a few more episodes. But it works like this for me. I Truely loved it. It was different from S1, obviously less surprised by the quality. But you can tell it was made with love From what I understood, they had to wrap it because Riot wants to make another show telling another story. And if it takes 3 years every time, and if they want to go around the lore, they can't take 6 years per story, knowing how vast the lore is
Didnt liked how they managed Mel and Jayce relationship, imo it was a wonderful yet underrated adult ship amazingly written in S1.. But in S2 they made it look like it was nothing.. Not even a scene of Mel mourning for his sacrifice... That said, the final battle was also a dissapointment, i loved Ekko participation, but it being solved by the power of friendship and hugs? It was frankly pathetic and too forced. Loved episode 7, it was genuinely beautiful.
Season 1 was more impactful. They shed light on more humane subjects-family, social structures, hierarchy, civil wars, love, depression, rejection, loss of a loved one, etc. Season 2 felt too rushed, the pacing ruined it. They needed more episodes of flesh out realistic interactions between the characters and to build up to major moments. The conflict between topside and Zaun(after jinx blew up the council chamber) should have been fleshed out more in a couple episodes rather than a lackluster montage, the last war felt empty-like a power struggle between 30 ppl on each side, it wasn’t as cinematic has I hoped and the musical score in those scenes were non-existent. They failed at making an unforgettable last stand scene. There should have been scenes of Ambessa Medarda rallying her forces to war. Scenes of Jinx rallying reinforcements. The council discussing Medarda’s betrayal. So many more loose ends I felt were rushed over.
I kinda feel like the finale leaves many questions unanswered. And I also kinda don't like that champs die. Maybe Jinx is alive, but Viktor and Jayce are most likely dead. I really don't like this inconsistency between the league lore and the arcane lore. Since the two universes are merged now, this basically means that the champs who are dead here are never gonna appear in the league story ever again, or what? I also kinda hoped to see Warwick in his fully transformed form, but maybe his werewolf-like looks were also retconned with arcane
Warwick robo design is so ass lmao, it's like they painted over his skin with white paint and called it a day, maybe obscure his face or something, it looks so weird
Imo they should've just established that this is its own thing separate to the game. Season 2 felt like it was forcing all the character to conform to league's canon. Felt more robotic in nature than natural, at least to me.
This season was great, the only thing I'd change is that I really think each episode should've been a full hour, or that another act should've been added. I know people are saying a third season would've been good but I don't think that's necessary. The story of season 2 was told amazingly with the time restraints, I only think they needed slightly more time to fully clarify and flesh things out. Rushed isn't the right word in my opinion, but there were definitely scenes that were missing or should've been lingered on. For example, Vi and Jinx should've absolutely talked more, especially before Jinx's sacrifice. Still, even with my critiques, this season is easily 9/10 for me.
absolutely loved it but these are some questions I had while watching it. why are they still stealing the hextech crystal from topside if the alternate universe zaun is like paradise cause silco and vander forgave each other? when did that happen? did heimer from the main timeline cause this somehow? or is it just an effect of the alternate timeline? what caused vi to die while stealing the gemstones just chance timeline differences? did that lead to silco/vander forgiving each other? Did zaun really go from how it was when the kids went on their job in their timline -> this in such a short time with only 3ish years of future heimerdinger's influence "watching the gears turn". Where did alternate heimerdinger's consciousness go? He just died the second main timeline heimer invaded his body and mind from an alternate dimension through an anomaly corruption caused by overuse of hextech then they both die at the same time when he sacrifices themselves to send ekko back to save the main timeline with the anomaly in his z-drive. Why didn't the black rose just kill singed or Silco instead of trying to kill Ambessa with Mel? Just stab singed... no more shimmer, no more warwick, no more hexcore corrupted by the void through viktor. Why did she need mel to wear a necklace and kill her mom to stop the calamity that they know so much about. Just kill vander, viktor, singed, jayce, anybody. I guess I'm nitpicking a bit. Maybe I'm misunderstanding some stuff. If leblanc had so much power and so much knowledge, why not use it to stop the calamity? also: what happened after isha shot warwick? all the main characters were there, an explosion happened, and they ALL got away unharmed and didn't try to stop or capture each other? like. how did that pan out? we never saw. lil rushed. how did alternate timeline powder get to keep the arcane crystals that jayce had in his lab if they all got caught? also why weren't the hextech shards cleaned up from the crime scene before ekko went there. it's just untouched unfixed same as it was before? he should have just checked her drawer instead they were right there the whole time.
The pacing was just fine, but I get that folks wanted more but I do think that would have detracted from the overall quality. A lot of folks aren't used to a series actually coming to an end, this is normal pacing when you're wrapping up a story. The closer you come to the end the fewer storylines you have access to. Because when you don't do that, then the stories just cause more loose ends. Everything else you've had pet peeves about can be explained upon a second viewing, all those questions are answered if you know what to look for and I think you do. You're just not going to catch everything in the first viewing. I'm always amazed at what other people catch and their conclusions, but anyway. Take care!
Thank you! This is what I’ve been saying. I think people are just speaking out of emotion when they say “it’s rushed”. It’s really not, it’s very normal and answers just about everything and completes every character’s arc. I think people just want time to be wasted because they didn’t want the story to end but it seems like unnecessary complaining. This season was fantastic and I’m looking forward to more stories in Runeterra.
@@Sonicmaster54 Yeah, I like that the stories are kept _tight,_ so when things are happening you as a viewer are *really* paying attention. When I watched this series I made sure my phone was silent, that I actually had time to watch the show, and that I was fully awake. My main concern is the quality, I'd not want it to drop just so we could get more episodes. I'd rather have less than more if the quality has to suffer. Plus, this show costs a lot and it takes a lot of people to make it. But anyway, I love this series and the more I learn about Runeterra the more I search out more lore videos!
5.5 out of 10. Long story short: Jinx in this season is just a mistake. At first season was shown that she is literally strong mentally ill, kinda has a schizophrenia and other illnesses. But in this season it wasn’t shown at all. She is just…depressed. And that’s it. But we remember how hard it was for her trying to live without voices and hallucinations. It is impossible for such people without any medicaments got remission. “but broo she saw Silco..”Remember what she experienced in first season ☠️ Jinx from s1 and Jinx from s2 are two completely different characters. And her ending… it’s so unfair. I felt through all episodes how creators of the shown doesn’t want her to have any chances to live better, to feel, how it might be to be happy. When I first time saw Isha, my first thought was: oh, poor girl, she definitely gonna die cause she means something for Jinx 👍🏻 AND OF COURSE SHE DIED. So. That’s it. I am disappointed and feeling bad for what they have done to Jinx.
I also believe people had not given it enough time to settle, rewatch it once or twice and make some research. Big reason some talk about how S1 is better is imo that it had time to settle. I think every question got answered outside of Mel and BR, but that is likely the next series.
Can someone explain me the stone thing. Why Viktor gives different stones with different runes on them to jayce. And he said something like only in this universe or something
Each of the stones he showed in that sequence had different rune carvings in them. The one Jayce got that sparked the story we saw was Acceleration, which gave way to the Hextech weapons we saw through the show. When Ekko was reconstructing the shards to make a way back home, he chose a different rune sigil that had a different magical component that made it become a time travel sort of magic, I think. So with each different rune, hypothetically, the story would have had different outcomes when it comes to what the Hextech weapons (or absence of them, and the magic could serve a different purpose) could do - all of which unfortunately still resulted in the devastation from the Arcane. There’s probably countless sigils, or maybe there’s just a few, and timeline details in each of those universes led to the butterfly effect of the devastation again and again.
I felt it ended on the right foot note, I think I’m sad mainly best it grab you in such a way that we going to miss these characters. And we won’t see them again, And not a bad thing.. stories do have to end.. over all 10/10 for me
I am severely disappointed by how Warwick was used in this series, especially towards the end. He didn't feel like a character on his own, but instead felt more like just another plot piece to make Jinx and Vi move. Not only that, but he doesn't even get any sort of inkling as to what happens next for him. They just give him a weird design that looks so far away from the version we have in League (that was quite literally updated not too long ago), delete and retcon the fact that he still had traces/memories of himself from before, and then just unceremoniously dump in a nuclear vat to end his character as an irredeemable, soulless husk of a villain. That is not the Warwick I was expecting to see, nor was it one that was satisfying to witness. It just feels like a spit in the face to fans of the character.
I think jynx escaped the 😂explosion because you see a pink shimmer streak, and at the end when they show the airship it ties back to how she said “im going to fly one of those someday”
Oh and another thing.. what was the point of Loris lol.. I thought he was going to be a crazy important character once he was introduced, like there was way more to him.
Can you do a video on Ambessa? I just don't understand her motivations. She wants to end Black Rose (I think). So why wage a war against Zaun? What will that accomplish?
She mentions it in act 3 about evening the odds against mages. Everything she does is seeking extraordinary weapons or powers. Came to Piltover to gain hextech. Manipulated Caitlyn's grief to win over Piltover. Captured Warwick as a weapon. Sided with Victor to make her soldiers immortal.
I think 1 more episode in between 8 and 9 would have been the perfect spot. It could have given more time to the uniting of Zaun and Piltover, given more time to finalize character relationships, and set up better for the final battle.
I look at this finale as the finale of this story arc, but not of the series, because we know that Arcane was only meant to tell this part of the story while we get future League of Legends shows. So what that tells me is that this series was only meant to introduce us to this part of the world and start building these character's stories up for when they return in the future. I mean hell, Mel's story alone is far from done now that she's taken over the kingdom her mother left while also appearing to be an extremely powerful mage. Jinx is one we don't know if she survived or not (probably survived due to how popular she is). Ekko, Vi, and Cait seem to be the only one's who's stories got wrapped up pretty well here, and that means they'll be able to appear down the line if the story calls for it.
Also I have some confusion about Jayce and Viktor. In Jayces meeting with Wizard Viktor in the other world, Wizard Viktor told Jayce "only you can show me." Why didn't Jayce when meeting Viktor in the undercity just talk with Viktor showing his memories instead of burning a hole through him.
I still don't get how Jayce's interaction with alter future Viktor led him to need to kill the Viktor he knew, destroying further negotiations with him, engaging in a battle against Noxus while trying to shut down the hexgates, and fighting final form Viktor one last time before losing and going "hm, maybe I should finally just help him out"
@@nickcloudsdale8995 Well I loved it at first, and then someone who has never played league, has no idea about league's lore, and doesn't go around on RUclips to watch nercit,s explanation pointed out a lot of ambiguities in the plot and ruined it for me.
Season 1 is a master piece, or close to it. 9.5/10 Season 2 felt like Seasons 2 and 3, smushed into one. Too fast, too much going on, not enough connective tissue. 6/10.
They Definitely wanted this to be the last season of the Arcane IP, I imagine they want different partners or better terms for their (riot) next project with Fortiche
To me, only the act 3 feels a bit rushed, act 1 and 2 were fine. I'd say they didn't need a whole other season, at most 1 more act, and at least maybe 1 more episode, for it to feel really complete. That being said, I still rate season 2 at 9/10, because it still contains some of the best moments in the show for me, especially in episode 5 and 6. And the fact that act 3 was maybe wrapped up a bit too quick, it doesn't take away from all the amazing things that the season still has. Also think about it, 1 more full season of Arcane means 3 more years of production. I'd rather it feels a bit rushed while still being satisfactory and they start working on new regions and characters (if theat's what they are planning).
I'm seeing a lot of people say the ending was a massive letdown but there aren't a lot of specifics as to why, and I don't see it. I have some gripes, and yeah a couple more episodes could've resolved those, but I still got most of what I was hoping for and had a blast. Super well done imo, 9/10, not as good as the iconic season 1 finale but that was never going to be topped realistically
Honestly, I was able to digest everything perfectly fine. I think most people who are left dissatisfied are either LoL players or people who had 3 years to theorize their own theories. I first watched Arcane last month, and I was just excited to know S2 was only a month away. I didn't have much time to go into crazy theories and could only share the same opinion that was widely shared. But the thing that mainly stuck out to me was Ambessa, idk how Caitlyn and Mel were able to fight on Ambessa's level. But I will consider the fact that Mel carried hard with her magic.
I think so too but I’ve played lol for over a decade now. I do think it felt fast but I’d rewatched s2 twice now and I can say there are some points that don’t make sense but I think when you’re dealing with time travel you’re main advantage as a watcher is not knowing why someone did something and then coming to realization at the end for a big finalle. I absolutely loved S1 and S2 best show I’ve watched in my life.
Why did jayce shoot viktor on episode 6 when it seems that all he needed to do was to show him what he saw in his travel to make him understand that he should reconsider his ideas and save many needless events
To be fair i feel like they thought about it in the league player's viewplayer and they basically know wats going to happen and also they already got like 160 more characters to go through Psa I do understand why others feel like they rushed and am not disagreeing
I honestly dont think they have to make everything extremely clear. I think this show is so fking good because of its details and its way to tell us the story. They dont treat you like a brainless spectator, they show you everything sometimes even without words, but it is everything there. At this time im not a lol enjoyer, but i have to say i dont remember the time i enjoyed a show like this master piece. Its true that it feels like they needed more episodes to tell the final, but it is so well written and has such a good plot twist that it had me with the open mouth the entire last episode. I really appreciate they didnt sacrifice the episode 7, it was one of the best episodes of the entire show, so emotive and deep, i didnt really become attached to ekko’s history unti then, that episode really broke my heart. This show is a masterpiece, it is done with so much love and talent, no words.
The issue with the pacing is a result of the 3 episode release strategy I guess they didnt have enough content to justify 12 episodes, so they crammed the 1 or 2 episodes on the other ones
I am feeling so many emotions happiness, sadness, regret. I am so happy about the characters as well and also sad as well because two of my favorite characters died to with Jayce and viktor. The plot twists was insane with the fact that it showed how much both of them impacted their lives and were true best friends. I just hope that in the sequel that the characters come back in some way or are made references to like for example I heard in the game that hextech is global. It can be the fact that in the sequel to this they are trying to recreate the hextech but can not and they are trying to bring back viktor or Jayce. Either way ekko my favorite character the Jayce, then viktor were my favorite characters by far and if he comes back I hope that viktor brings back sky and they make up because sky loves him and I hope that he will love her back and show emotions again. As for Jayce I do not know how they would come back either but we will see.
Jinx made it most likely. 1) There's a frame showing a line from the explosion. 2) In the epilogue, Caitlin was observing the structure of that area and she was specifically looking for the air ducts that can be used to escape 3) In the final scene before "The end" typography showing an airship flying away and guess who else wanted to fly away in an airship in s1 ep1 (I mean what else is the point of this scene) 4) "The end" typography was done in Jinx's style _______ That said, I do agree there should have been more episodes or at least more screen time _____ My biggest complain is Singed got the best ending having committed the most amount of war crimes 😂
I love the finale and the whole season but there should have been 2 more maybe even 3 episodes. And i am like 99% sure Jinx is alive but some people seem to doubt it even though i think the signs are very clear. What do you think becouse the zepplin at the end the shimmer blitz away form the explosion and Cait looking at the plans of the Hexgate seem pretty direct
They made it real clear with four things they show us after jinx and vander fall that Jinx isn't dead. They didn't world build outside of the cast much, that'd be my main criticism but I still loved it Oh and thank the Almighty they gave Ekko his moments finally
nah i’m glad they didn’t drag it out for another season even though it ended up being rushed. i just think they could’ve made some better writing choices in terms of focus.
Yeah definitely. It would be really bad to wait for 3 more years for the next season too.I just think the structure itself is kinda okay but the arrangement should’ve been better than this, maybe with more time I guess .
Personally, I feel like they should not have gone all "Viktor becomes a god and tries to kill everyone" route. First, I feel like it happened too fast. I don't *understand* the reasoning Viktor has to arrive to such conclusion, and if the answer is just "he's brainwashed by the Arcane", I find it just a boring plotpoint because then, at this point the character just... doesn't exist anymore. I couldn't at *any* point see the value of Viktor's ideal (just turning everyone and everything into arcane-machine-hybrids statues ?... And then what ?... In his (new) old lore (the second one), there was more nuance, you could actually both defend and criticize his decidions... Here he just becomes an unpersonified force of nature, which I find a LOT less compelling than the deep, complex and nuanced nararive that Arcane has woven before. I think removing this singular plotpoint would've made for a better ending, because it is one that took a lot of time, and without it, a less grand but more coherent and narratively meaningful resolution could've been reached.
I agree 2-3 more episodes to tie everything together and flesh out the events would have made the scene of Jayce reaching out to appeal to Viktor's all but lost humanity, by showing him his future self who wanted to right his past wrongs, all the more impactful. That moment was BEAUTIFUL! In isolation. But I don't believe the lead-up to it was remotely warranted.
Sevika getting less lines (whole zero) than Maddie is a crime
Maddie the plot device
Sevika during the episode: 💪🤐🦾
Maddie’s betrayal was lackluster. I couldn’t think of an actual logical explanation for it.
She wad never talkative to begin with
@@disguisedcentennial835Yeah.

@@internetloy So many good ones i agree
Plus the old saying in film, if you don't see a body they aren't dead and even in the case of Vander even seeing the body doesn't confirm the kill
doesnt matter....I still hate that they made it a cliffhanger yeah if you want then you can think she got away but if you dont then actually we never see her again so...what I do wish is that anyone who is suicidal had someone like Ekko in their life :D
nah, shes dead. But shes alive, safe and happy with ecko in another dimension.

Also, no mention of Isha was bad...
Idk why people want to mention her, Jinx literally wanted to kill herself after she died, that speaks way more than words.
Maybe 🤔😂
On the money. Ball is in Netflix court, or Riot will go to HBO or whoever else offers the highest.
That goes to show that writing good stories is more about being inspired than having experience writing stories.
I hope Fortiche continues to work with Riot.
Arcane was revolutionary for the industry. One of the best shows of all time. The art style, animations, voice acting, music character buildup and oh Lord the ending was so fulfilling because it didn't leave any cliff hangers.

I agree with this Ambessa motives while not from no where seem crazy rushed. Just didnt make sense after the death of all those peole things. Went at Mach 5 speed

There's good evidence Jinx isn't dead:
- Pink shimmer flash and line which follows her superspeed can be seen going into an airvent before the explosion
- Caitlyn is looking at the archives of the vents indicating where she found some monkey bomb, indicating her body was never found
- The ship flying of is likely to be Jinx from multiple foreshadowings ("One day, I'm gunna fly in one of those things.")
- It's heavily alluded to the Jinx wants to "break the cycle" (alluded to by Silco and Ekko), at first she thought the solution was suicide, but now she see's it was sacrafice, so she fakes here death and leaves to help create peace
- Last frame is in jinx writing...
Is this cope? Possibly... but the evidence is honestly good...
not cope but facts. She is 100% alive otherwise they wouldn't put those hints in ending scenes
Yeah no these are all valid things that aren't necessary to portray unless foreshadowing her survival.
It's not cope, I noticed a few of these but definitely not everything, thanks

Agreed
Totally agree. I don't know if you've played League but the fantasy side was just a matter of time, at least for me. It was crazy to see why Jayce is called "The protector of tomorrow" in the game and it was shown in episode 7
Can't Agree more. Season 1 was perfect, however season 2 just didn't have all the time to fully delve into what was going on. I feel season 3 would've made everything drag on more without more content so I would say a couple more episodes would've been better.
Season 2 is not perfect because “There is no prize to perfection. Only an end to pursuit.”
A noxus story line would be absolutely amazing. I find that whole culture fascinating.
@ same it’s pretty unique as far as fantasy empires go. swain and leblanc are definitely going to be main characters of the next league show.
You do know Jinx and Heimer are not dead?
Christian confirmed that they are working on Ionia, Noxus and Demacia rn.
What I don’t understand is how Ambessa, a cunning, merciless leader preaching honor on the battlefield, gets so easily invested into viktor. The guy turns your soldiers into zombies with a single touch, and wants, for a reason or another, touch magic itself.
Like you really think that
1: It’s honourable to make use of almost invincible hive-mind creatures?
3:20 Yeah I think this is for honour. And it does look like Mel takes Ambessa's place after.

And Arcane - the most high quality show i've seen.
A true masterpiece.

This. Love the show so much for that.
i would disagree. some characters i really just did not care about. i’d say a few characters also did not get satisfying conclusions to their story arcs. season 2 was good but it definitely had its fair share of issues. i’m glad they didn’t drag it out to three seasons, but some improvements could be made.

100% agree
it's just the sotry beats, but they handled it in such a way that you can have both a longer seasons of them and then just this, either way though, AMAZING SHOW and grateful for episode 7, best one coping mechanism they've created in a while
Episode 7 was the best then they gave us the last two episodes that literally made me feel so empty 😭
Jinx survives:
1. When she explodes with vander with her grenade if you look top right you can see a flash of purple representing her purple shimmer dash so that means she probably escaped
2. Vi does not grieve jinxes death after she "dies" which could be a mistake or the studio didn't have enough time but the loose end would be so big it doesn't make sense a great studio like Riot would miss something like that
3. Ekkho burns ONE piece of paper representing the loss of HEIMERDGHINER not Jinx meaning she is alive and Ekkho knows it
4. Jinx says in episode 1 she wants to leave on one of those blimps and a blimp flies off ino the distance and then Jinxes trauma flashback sequence happens right at the end of the series
5. Caitlyn looks at the hecxgates schematics and sees there is an air duct that jinx escaped and she is holding a Jinx monkey while doing so showing she was thinking about Jinx when she was looking at the hexgate schematics.
episode 7 of season 2 was the episode in all arcane in my opinion and im happy it is how it is.
The finally got so high concept that I feel like they lost out on the more simple things. Like we didn't have the same level of drama and politics compared to season one

Giving you flowers for all your takes and accurate predictions! Agree that a few more episodes would be welcome by everyone.
Definitely did for me. Ready for the next project.
Also cant wait
So after they show us Vi sucks Cait tittes , get ready for the bilgewater season when they will show us twisted fate sucks Graves penis 😅
If jayce wouldn't have killed viktor, vikitor would have never taken the "evil" route and jayce said he triggered the future through killing viktor
@@internetloy Yeah, time travel always opens a big can of worms
@@internetloy idk if you’ve seen the justice league movie but it reminded me of the flash going back in time a few seconds
Guys, we MUST assemble a MASSIVE campaign for another season. Spread the word and get loud. WE NEED ARCANE Season 3.
I also wanted them to arrive with where we are in-game, but they seem to be slightly behind. Viktor is getting reworked.
Jinx basically flashed out of there in time
where is necrit its been 5 hours??
Adc caitlyn and support mel fighting a 1v2 toplaner with Kaenic rokern is just mindblowingly awesome
And i'm definitely here for it if that's where they go next
mel has an icon leaked in the game she’s gonna be the next champion
I also think the story deserved a few more episodes. But it works like this for me. I Truely loved it. It was different from S1, obviously less surprised by the quality. But you can tell it was made with love
From what I understood, they had to wrap it because Riot wants to make another show telling another story.
To be fair, they also introduced the concept of a multiverse so technically anything can happen to anyone
I feel they intend to continue storytelling through series and live action. So most of the lore as it stands will probably fall 2nd to that.
not everything needs answers. A good story leaves the listener / watcher to speculate on different possibilities. it's called immersion
If you notice the top right part of the screen during 'that' scene, you'll see a swift shimmer streak moving away, before the explosion goes off🤞
But there is 2 or 3 of these
@@finn-thehuman-mertens Only one. Rewatched the explosion a ton of times.
WHERE did you get that jacket???
Looking forward to your next video.
Great job with some of your predictions man
I also believe people had not given it enough time to settle, rewatch it once or twice and make some research.
*alternate timeline details (that still ended the same way thanks to the crystal being used)
@@greystarmoon Good explanation.
Solid 8/10 for me.
An unforgettable experience for sure.
10/10 absolutely no doubt. Could it have been better with a couple more episodes? Sure. Then it would be an 11/10.
I loved the finale. Wonder what happened to jayce and victor
I think 1 more episode in between 8 and 9 would have been the perfect spot. It could have given more time to the uniting of Zaun and Piltover, given more time to finalize character relationships, and set up better for the final battle.
That ambesa fight was like 3v1 if you include leblanc?
average top lane experience
I look at this finale as the finale of this story arc, but not of the series, because we know that Arcane was only meant to tell this part of the story while we get future League of Legends shows. So what that tells me is that this series was only meant to introduce us to this part of the world and start building these character's stories up for when they return in the future. I mean hell, Mel's story alone is far from done now that she's taken over the kingdom her mother left while also appearing to be an extremely powerful mage. Jinx is one we don't know if she survived or not (probably survived due to how popular she is). Ekko, Vi, and Cait seem to be the only one's who's stories got wrapped up pretty well here, and that means they'll be able to appear down the line if the story calls for it.
they shouldve fleshed out the black rose part more
100%
Arcane season 1 is a 10/10. Arcane season 2 is a 9/10. It’s like comparing diamonds and gold, they both shine. I’m happy I got good TV so I’m content
Also I have some confusion about Jayce and Viktor. In Jayces meeting with Wizard Viktor in the other world, Wizard Viktor told Jayce "only you can show me."
Why didn't Jayce when meeting Viktor in the undercity just talk with Viktor showing his memories instead of burning a hole through him.
Yes Jayce fault he was not thinking logically
I still don't get how Jayce's interaction with alter future Viktor led him to need to kill the Viktor he knew, destroying further negotiations with him, engaging in a battle against Noxus while trying to shut down the hexgates, and fighting final form Viktor one last time before losing and going "hm, maybe I should finally just help him out"
It’s because the other world Viktor won’t listen
The act 3 was crazy great for me, loved everything about arcane and I can’t wait for the new shows come
S1- 9/10, S2- 6.5/10
My feelings exactly.
The Last Act burned it. s2 act1-2 is a solid 9/10
if thats 6.5/10 ur an extremely hard soul to please
@@nickcloudsdale8995 Well I loved it at first, and then someone who has never played league, has no idea about league's lore, and doesn't go around on RUclips to watch nercit,s explanation pointed out a lot of ambiguities in the plot and ruined it for me.
Loved it. Like most, I wanted to see more, but I see why they compressed certain parts they obviously could have expanded on. It works for me.
Season 1 is a master piece, or close to it. 9.5/10
Season 2 felt like Seasons 2 and 3, smushed into one. Too fast, too much going on, not enough connective tissue. 6/10.
same feeling, such a shame
For me it was a 10 out of 10 it’s perfectly written I felt it wasn’t dragged as people are claiming
It gave the answers I was seeking so 10/10
I'm seeing a lot of people say the ending was a massive letdown but there aren't a lot of specifics as to why, and I don't see it.
I watched season 1 only last month, and I feel the opposite. I am disappointed with season 2 overall, but more so with act 3.
Why did jayce shoot viktor on episode 6 when it seems that all he needed to do was to show him what he saw in his travel to make him understand that he should reconsider his ideas and save many needless events
To be fair i feel like they thought about it in the league player's viewplayer and they basically know wats going to happen and also they already got like 160 more characters to go through
Psa
I do understand why others feel like they rushed and am not disagreeing
Just wish the show gave us more frames for each story to let us fully feel the emotions
The issue with the pacing is a result of the 3 episode release strategy
I guess they didnt have enough content to justify 12 episodes, so they crammed the 1 or 2 episodes on the other ones
2) In the epilogue, Caitlin was observing the structure of that area and she was specifically looking for the air ducts that can be used to escape
3) In the final scene before "The end" typography showing an airship flying away and guess who else wanted to fly away in an airship in s1 ep1 (I mean what else is the point of this scene)
4) "The end" typography was done in Jinx's style
_______
That said, I do agree there should have been more episodes or at least more screen time
_____
My biggest complain is Singed got the best ending having committed the most amount of war crimes 😂
the bone analogy is perfect
I love the finale and the whole season but there should have been 2 more maybe even 3 episodes. And i am like 99% sure Jinx is alive but some people seem to doubt it even though i think the signs are very clear. What do you think becouse the zepplin at the end the shimmer blitz away form the explosion and Cait looking at the plans of the Hexgate seem pretty direct
They made it real clear with four things they show us after jinx and vander fall that Jinx isn't dead. They didn't world build outside of the cast much, that'd be my main criticism but I still loved it
Oh and thank the Almighty they gave Ekko his moments finally
Jinx is definately alive. Question is, will familiar characters show up in future iterations, cause almost every storyline was left open ended.
Kind of disappointed because it feels rushed 😢Maybe they should have made it into another season.
nah i’m glad they didn’t drag it out for another season even though it ended up being rushed. i just think they could’ve made some better writing choices in terms of focus.
Oh my god I thought you were a fellow South African with your accent and I can't believe I saw in your bio you actually are 🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦
Awe awe
I agree 2-3 more episodes to tie everything together and flesh out the events would have made the scene of Jayce reaching out to appeal to Viktor's all but lost humanity, by showing him his future self who wanted to right his past wrongs, all the more impactful. That moment was BEAUTIFUL! In isolation. But I don't believe the lead-up to it was remotely warranted.
