Wow, I've never seen animals at a zoo have such a nice dinner laid out like that. And they grab only what they want off the plate one at a time. Very civil.
More so than any other ape they really seem to embody that natural fluidity of motion that humans value so much in physical pursuits. Every little movement, even carefully picking food off a plate with their fingers, are the same things we do, they just do them 100x better and with virtually no effort expended. It's crazy.

Haha! I remember when I was 4-5 we went to Living Treasures and straight to this gibbon exhibit. And as soon as we did, Dudley played peekaboo with me! I was so happy! Now this is one of our favorite exhibits, and we just got told we were going to go to the zoo tomorrow! Can’t wait to see Dudley and Daphne. 💞💞

Ya know, I think it's only fair to have a human exhibit at the zoo, lol. Just think of it, there could be two human exhibits! One could have humans with an alpha male and his harem, and the other could have two humans that mated for life! Lol, but I wonder how they would behave, if they were born knowing only the zoo exhibit they were born in, knowing nothing of their culture, or language. Anyway, these Gibbons are my favorite of all the Apes. For most of my life I thought primates were basically all monkeys of a sort, and they could also all be apes. And now that I know that's not the case, I find that a lot of people still don't know either. So if you're reading this, just out of common courtesy to another person who appreciates all life, primates WITH tails are Monkeys, and NOT Apes at all. And primates WITHOUT tails are Apes, and NOT Monkeys at all. Well, I hope this helps someone.

The fact is, macaques more than likely would have torn those plates apart almost immediately, and have taken one nibble of each item and tossed it on the floor, only to grab another of the same to repeat the process. I dislike anthropomorphic comparison, but macaques seem "greedy." These Gibbons seem to appreciate that someone served them food, and eat so "politely." And, I get that Gibs are apes. I guess I just dislike those disease bag Macaques so much.

Well, actually mandrils and drills do have a tail. It's just a little stub, around 2"-3" or so. But yes folks, apes have no tails. 😉
