@Tyrone Gabrielle Pangilinan Very, very distant cousins. Some 500,000 generations removed.
@Gabby. We are not related to animals, some of you have questionable minds for real, the heck
Orangutans are *owls* of the primate group. The jolly grandparents of the primates. That's the vibe they give off 😂

They're men in costumes
Such intelligence in those eyes. I was fortunate to make eye contact with one in a zoo. Life has never been the same

Besides humans, Orang-utans have the strongest maternal instincts of any ape. Orang-utan mothers will spend over a decade raising their offspring, who will often return to visit even after they've moved out.
Why are you speaking as if you're an expert but misspell Orangutans?
@@markfox1545 It's an old timey way of spelling it.
@@markfox1545 oh shut up
Orang utans means in indo jungle people so it makes sense. Especially because they are very smart like humans.
not over a decade usually- it’s around 8 years, but often adults pay their mothers visits!
It's lovely to see that Orang Utans and Gibbons can coexist like in the forest! So cute!
The gibbons are so agile!
There both apes
0:52 when that gibbon swung by, that orangutan was like “thief! Ima get you this time!” *claps his hands in frustration “ugh, missed him again”.
You get a sense the Orangutan is thinking, "How do you say, " 'Kitchy-kitchy-koo' in Gibbon? I took Gibbon as a foreign language in high school and I don't remember anything."
When I look at some apes it really touches me how similar they are to us humans. Not just their behaviour, I think its beautiful how much they look alike to us. Especially when you look at their faces, their eyes for example.
@APassersby Indeed, but at the same time there are similarities.
Humans are an ape species too, and all apes have some behaviors in common.
@@johnh.mcsaxx3637 "Humans are an ape species too" - true, and it amazes me how some people are offended by that. Maybe the ones who deny evolution?

It didn't think that it was "cute" because animals aren't intelligent enough to comprehend feelings like lust, jealousy or "cuteness".
But it was interested and curious about it thats why it kept getting close and looking at it.
That look of adoration in her eyes...
That was profound. The most wholesome moment between two animals I've ever seen.
There are two orangutans in there- the one with the flaps on his face is the male.
JubJub444 I thought the one vying for time with Jr. was a male, but they kept referring to her.
Flaps lol
it looked like a "her", but many young males are missing their cheek pads. still think it was a "her".
@@gardyngurl32 The first one could be a female and only males have flaps 🦋
Thanks for that I was feeling sad gor the orang utang before you said that
The orangutan looks sad because she wants to hold the baby gibbon but it's mom won't let her. That orangutan looks so incredibly sweet and intelligent too. I wish I could go meet her.
Orangutans are so smart. I consider them people (but not humans obviously).
Vegan actually the words "Orang Utan" means "Forest People" in the native language, so you are absolutely not alone in considering them as people.

1:27 I had moment to think of if this wasn't a human in a costume. Damn we are so alike in some ways
the meaning of orangutan. orang = people. utan = forest. hence people of forest
Yes. They are raped by Humans in their native habitat and kept as sex slaves by shaving them.

I'm not very fond of zoos and what most of them see as habitat. Cincinati Zoo has done an astounding job with detail. I would want to live there, if I were an Orang. It's a far jump from concrete and plexy glass. Thanks for taking care of them, Cincinati zoo.
The way the orangutan looks at he baby is so precious!💋💕
dont know about the fact that a gibbon and an orangutan are sharing a space...but the gibbons are so cute! and the orangutans are so...wise and majestic-lookin. like i wanna sit in it's lap while it tells me stories
What a fascinating interaction between these two species. Sees the mixing of these species keeps everyone engaged and moving a lot more than being segregated.
well humans are related closely to other apes and humans show the same qualities, so i don't see what's so surprising about it.

Sustainable, garden-grown palm oil. I heard Krispy-Kreme gets all their oil from sustainable sources.

I must wonder what the baby gibbon thought when it looked out from it's safe space and saw a big hairy orang staring right at ti.
It did understood she was a friendly old orangutan and sensed love in eyes. Humans maybe much more intelligent but these apes are more matured.
There are actually two separate orangutans filmed in this video--one male and one female. The female we see first, very curious about the baby--the male is seen at 1:15, distinguishable by the fleshy flaps on his face.
I likes how gibbon sit on ground, its looks relaxing
Orangutan are the coolest animals on earth by far, I wish they were equal in population to humans and had their own rights and society in the forests
All right, then, say you are an orang-utang, and I will give you the right to live in the forest!

I feel sorry for the Orangutan. He looks so intelligent and so depressed.
Like he is much more aware of his captivity than the gibbons
FRIENDLYMEXICANBOY The only reason orangutans are endangered is because of deforestation due to man, not from getting "ripped apart and eaten alive". 1. Orangutans are incredibly strong. 2. They're smart enough to know they are trapped in a box. No matter how you spin it a tiny box will never compare to the forests of Indonesia.
FRIENDLYMEXICANBOY
How blinded can one be? The only reason to keep Animals in Zoos is to save them from HUMANITY which destroys their environment and lifes. Please go to the doctor because to think this animals must be saved from being eaten alive in the nature is just......ridiculous.
They must be saved from humanity not from the wild live were they BELONG to!!! ZOOs are made to entertain western idiots! if they are not save in their home area they must be carried into a saved national park with many hectares!!!!!
***** cus humans kinda suck thats why. there are so damn many of us and we really arent that cool.
The orangutan is woke!
to be fair, the gibbons are much smaller, so the space is much bigger for them I think, and I don't think they are as easily bored. I think Orangs just need to be mentally stimulated as much as possible so they aren't bored. The female Orangs at my zoo never really seem bored, except for one of the males whenever they take his access to the high ropes away. I know Rocky gets bummed because he can't go up, around, and eat grass. Charlie likes space. He has his own yard most of the time with access to grass, but he could do with some more. Some of them like to people watch. Rocky gets excited when he sees tattoos, and Knobi likes magazines.
They are just so caring it's stands out above all other primates, even us.
I don't know the back story on your Primate Residents, has Lana given birth before ? If so have they lived ? It is very sweet to see her trying to get near the Gibbon youngster. She reminds me of how older woman who just love babies, just want to love on them. 😄
Lana just wants a baby of her own!
Yess orangutan is the original animal from Indonesia! 😃🐵. He looks kindhearted like our people right?
The word orangutan is shortened from word "orang" which means: people, and "hutan" which means: forest
this was the best thing ive ever seen
Gazes at the baby with adoring eyes.
The orangutan needs a buddy. ☺️
DAm you can see the different levels of intelligence!
R so cute. The orang utan has a lovely furry coat :) they r such gentle giants and very intelligent. Gibbons are cute as well. Interesting how the two species interact with eachother.
Its chewbacca!
Animals play their role in the ecosystem, which is vital for both plant life and for regulating other species that also support the ecosystem in which we live in. If we are to ensure our earth will be safe for generations to come, it is important to make sure our environment is healthy, and maintaining the animal life in our environment plays a role in that. In other words, other organisms are vital to our existence in different ways.
1:13 GOTTA GO FAST!
Zoos have the highest diversity of life anywhere on the planet... I’ll let that sink in
kinda sad that they are all only together for the giggles in the background.
Does the orangutan have an orangutan friend? They’re such wonderful creatures.
That orungatan looks like my mom
he's like a lonely old man🥲
0:30 - 0:43 thats sooooo sweet !!!
I wonder how much a gibbon could bench press, they are so strong and athletic it's amazing. Their tree climbing ability is second to none I'd say.
Reading too much into this clip: Orangutan looks really sad :/
NegraMonroe Actually Orangs are commonly sad looking and lethargic as compared to the other apes in zoos. It is wonderful to see this one so active and either joining the Gibbon or copying her in swinging and this shows far more activity than and playful behavior than is usually seen in Orangs in zoos. This combo is a wonderful grouping, particularly for the Orang. I'd love to see Chantek with Gibbons!
Orangutan looks very innocent
Have a sudden thought to give the Orangutan a grooming session. =)

I feel like Orangutans relate to Gibbons because of their similar arm to leg proportions.
I wanna laugh when look at its face getting close to gibbon's baby🤣🤣🤣 it's reaction like someone who just fall in love and try to kiss.
My two favorite apes on the planet. The Orangutan straight up looking at the baby Gibbon like a Phil Collins song about to play lol. Looking like the wise old uncle Rang in the back.
The Orangutan reminded me of my mom(Sorry Mom), but yes, she actually did!

Denying that humans "are a problem" is being ignorant to the harm we have done and are doing to our environment. When we destroy animal habitats, we are also hurting ourselves in a way because plants and animals help maintain the soil, water, and air quality that we depend on. I'm no biologist, but I know that animals are important for maintaining our ecosystem.
