The truth is that when he could do it at top level he didn't really talk like that. Once he lost it, intimidation was all he had left. At least at that level
Prime Tyson was when he was under management of Jimmy Jacobs, Cus'd Amato and Kevin Rooney. Not when Don king came on the seen and sunk his claws into mike and surrounding him with the worst people.
The real crazy part? That guy (Darryl “Hommo” Baum) was the one who infamously shot 50 Cent and was then shot and killed himself in revenge by 50's people just after. So in a pretty direct way, one of the biggest Hip Hop figures of all time is responsible for probably the biggest Boxer of all time at his most violent.
@@novatryshots that is exactly what that situation was. Darryl "homicide/hommo" baum was one of Iron Mike's childhood friends and goons. He's the one that shot 50 9 times and then got killed himself. 50 cent talks about him on the song " MANY MEN"
Sort of to a fault though on this one. His passion isn’t doing any damage of course, but his opinion is flat out wrong .. Mike Tyson in the lead up to fighting Lennox Lewis had already been exposed as past him prime, and the way he acted was the actions of a bully. During one conference he walked over to Lewis and attacked him, Lewis stood his ground and cracked him with a punch, ever since then Tyson was scared. Tyson acting out was always out of fear. When he bit Holyfields ear off it wasn’t because he was a monster, it was because he was scared, he was losing, and he wanted out.
That hypnotic mantra… not only what Joe said but also within that mission would include a programmed instinct to skillfully react to any attack levied by his opponents without letting up on moving forward on the offensive like a mongoose to a cobra. Fearless and assured of the kill before it even happens. I think that’s pretty amazing.
His daughter died a week earlier and instead of grieving he was on a press tour promoting the fight. The man was in a lot of pain and was medicating on coke.

@Khabib cherrypicking weight bully how much of a virgin do u have to be to make a name like that?
People always saw Tyson’s quick temper with the media and assumed he was always like that. The media made him out to be that.
The truth is that when he could do it at top level he didn't really talk like that. Once he lost it, intimidation was all he had left. At least at that level
"How do you go back to the greenroom with that guy?"
You go..."Your right Mike!"😂
Imagine if they had a hog implant is the most joe Rogan question
Prime Tyson was when he was under management of Jimmy Jacobs, Cus'd Amato and Kevin Rooney.
Not when Don king came on the seen and sunk his claws into mike and surrounding him with the worst people.
Tyson lost his patience with Joe too. “Hey hey listen!!”😂
spotify is great for music but it sucks for podcasts, joe
True, I would have watched all the RUclips suggested jre videos. BUT NOW I need to search for it on Spotify after watching jre clips on YT.
@@neelj5155 That takes literally zero effort to do.
Forgot this podcast still exists.
It sounds like Mike Tyson is really sad and going to cry when he is talking about his best friend dying.
@@CalamityEnt no fucking way
It turned into a cringe when mike almost forgot he'd already dedicated the victory to his brother.
Yeah sounds like he just uses aggression to get through the pain. Like Cus taught him.
@@novatryshots that is exactly what that situation was. Darryl "homicide/hommo" baum was one of Iron Mike's childhood friends and goons. He's the one that shot 50 9 times and then got killed himself. 50 cent talks about him on the song " MANY MEN"
Crazy how I can just forget I’m watching Joe Rogan when Tyson starts spittin
"That's his call"😂
Whenever joe talks about mike tyson he is so passionate about him
Sort of to a fault though on this one.
@@miniman2132 Yeah we know Mike Tyson said he was always scared
Man, I haven't seen a whole episode since Spotify.
That hypnotic mantra… not only what Joe said but also within that mission would include a programmed instinct to skillfully react to any attack levied by his opponents without letting up on moving forward on the offensive like a mongoose to a cobra. Fearless and assured of the kill before it even happens. I think that’s pretty amazing.
okay bruh
Mike Tyson is one of my favorite PEOPLE of all time. Such an interesting guy
His daughter died a week earlier and instead of grieving he was on a press tour promoting the fight. The man was in a lot of pain and was medicating on coke.
His daughter died in 09. He retired in 05.

4:14 thats the funniest Mike Tyson moment I've ever seen 😂
Mike is one mean mo fo. Love the way he enters a fight. He is there to destroy his opponent. From the start!
Imagine if a 19 year old mike Tyson was on social media and storming for the belts now?
Fuck that! I preferred it back then how it was. You knew the fight was coming but no social media shit. You just knew the date and made sure to stay up all night to watch the legend do his magic.
When I look back to those much simpler times things were so much better, so much more REAL! Authenticity means everything to me! I can't stand this plastic fake world we are living in. Greatest post fight interview OF ALL TIME NO DEBATE AT ALL! ANY OTHER ANSWER/OPTION IS WRONG!!! Dude is a hater too, immediately saying he has good writers. I'm almost entirely positive that he did not have that written for him at all, that came from the heart and spilled out of him so naturally and ferociously. That was no script, that was his ego, the spirit of legendary God of war, speaking through the mortal body of Mike Tyson 💯😂🔥 most feared fighter of all time, and people don't give him nearly enough credit for how intelligent he is. People assume he is a meat head because he is a boxer and his upbringing and drug use. But if you had heard him speak like this, or when he opens up to the media, you would know. This speech was all Tyson, I'm almost offended on his behalf that this dude thought otherwise 😂
My thoughts exactly.
I never thought he would lose
People ruined him. If cus was alive for another 10 years I'm confidence and so are many other believe he would have left undefeated
@@e46_ggg I seriously doubt it. Mike was a short heavyweight and they have shorter careers due to the relentless style neccessary taking on much taller fighter's. Very skilled tall heavyweights would have always been very problematic. Even in Mike's absolute prime he was unable to stop guys like Green, Smith and Tucker, one common denominator was that they were all over 6.4". None of those guys were in Lewis's league.

This is what I dont understand, all these modern boxing fans always bring up these interviews during Tyson's second half of his career when he made all those insane comments. Saying how he's this, "scary and horrifying figure to box." But all those interviews took place after he started losing. His first part of the career, when he really was terrifying, he would say nothing.
