It's Brisbane Roar that he had the 36 unbeaten run. I believe he also took them to the A-League title and South Melbourne before them. No matter what people think, no matter where you are in the world, it isn't easy to win trophies, especially the clubs he's gone to that haven't had any recent success. It speaks to his personality, strategy and determination. Now let's not get ahead of ourselves and think we're gonna get a trophy straight away, but just to be playing attacking, free-flowing football again, I think will please most Spurs fans. I didn't know much about him before he was linked with us and to be honest, I was one of those who didn't want him, but after researching him, I'm converted and support this appointment. I'm excited that he'll get to review all our players, even those who've been out on loan. The fact Brighton recently looked at him, is also a positive sign. They play very attractive football and seem to continually bring in the right players and managers. COYS
As a Spurs fan from Melbourne, this is awesome news. BTW the club Ange played for (from 1978 to 1993) was South Melbourne Hellas. Back then, our national competition was called the National Soccer League and almost every club had an affiliation with either Greece, Italy or Croatia.
I've done research on him as well and I believe he's relishing the challenge. I'm sure he will know the history of Spurs and the DNA of the club and I think what will drive him is that he wants to be that guy to bring glory back to our club. If Mr Levy stays out the way I think he might.
This is very much going to be like Arteta's first season at Arsenal. #Trust The Process As long as we are seeing a clear football philosophy developing and the squad buying into it and fully on board, that is good enough for me.

Thx Ali and good research. I watched the Celtic game at the weekend, and yes I know it was weak opposition, but no question he plays front foot football. Full backs high up the pitch, aggressive press when ball lost. Very poch like in terms of style. Thats good no top team is playing defensive/sit back football. Guardiola has changed that so thats where we need to be, and what we have always been known for. Don't care about glamour need manager who sets high standards but treats team as people as poch did. That is what works today. And as you said he wants to be here!
Called and wanted Postecoglu all along (see comment 21 April) - think we're in for a treat as Spurs fans - if it happens of course, never believe until Spurs announce it!
Brisbane Roar!!! He worked at Melbourne Victory also. He put football on the map in Australia in country where other sports are fancied. The 2015 Asian Cup win is greater than people give it credit. Australia were the host country and had that pressure but to win with the likes of Japan and South Korea was extraordinary. His had doubters everywhere his gone and he THRIVES in it. He loves pressure I can’t tell you enough and he will revel in it. Watch one of his press conferences and you’ll wanna put the boots on for him. Can’t stress to you how good he is and is THE MAN to introduce that steely, siege mentality. Us vs Them type. You will not see a lack of effort in this side
Thanks again for an interesting and very informative video Alasdair. I too have been doing research into Postecoglou and the more I do so the more I feel he could be a very good appointment - but then, as a long suffering Spurs supporter, I am haunted by the feeling of impending disappointment! I just hope that he is given time and backing by the Chairman and the supporters.
My 3 preferences were… Gallardo, Slot and Postecoglou as I saw them as the ones to rebuild and bring back to Tottenham way. Having the uncertainty evaporated is such a relief! We’ve got our Jol,Redknapp and Poch in one 😜🇦🇺 🇬🇷
I'm glad he's accepted. I didn't know much about him but then neither did we know much about Jol or Poch and they both turned out well. Now I've read a bit about him he seems the right fit at the right time for Spurs.
All Aussie football fans, particularly us Melbournians have been following Ange closely since his A-league days. I was devastated when he left the Socceroos for Yokohama. And we've all been saying it will only be a few years before he's coaching a Premier League team. His inspiring, relentless, attacking football is amazing to watch. Like I said to all the Celtic sceptics who all had smart ass remarks: you will concede a lot of goals, score a lot of goals, and eventually be unbeatable. Top 6 finish next year, a top 4 in 2025, Premier League champs from there...When the fans at spurs also beg him to stay, and he's proven everyone wrong, he'll move on again
Celtic fans are still making smart arse remarks by saying things like Spurs don't deserve him etc, when they were probably making snide remarks when Ange joined them 🙄 lol I'm excited to see how our season pans out 😁
Who were all the sceptics, you mean the press and Sevco supporters, who said hed ne gone by Xmas, Celtic supporters got behind him, as we saw from his first SPL game at home, Celtic had 36 shots at goal an unbelievable statistic in a 90 minute so we could see his philosophy and got behind him, as he told you we did last week.
@Price2Pay as for you? Where you In Glasgow in 2021 if not stfu because you don't know ehat you're talking about, the reason Celtic supporters say Spurs don't deserve them is the way you've treated managers.
Another great video Ali. I'm actually in Greece at the moment (Rhodes) and last night as the news was really breaking the singer in the hotel bar was singing that song - I come from a land down under. So, in my world the signs are are telling me this is a good singing. 😂
Like you, Alasdair, I have spent the past 24-48hrs delving into Ange Postecoglou’s background and I am coming round to view that he could be a great fit for THFC. I know fans will jump down my throat when I say this (& I’m showing my age here!), that AP has an air of Bill Nick about him … ! I believe there’s a massive rebuild to be done at Spurs and all the research into AP shows that he’s not afraid to ‘get his hands dirty’. Also, judging from the comments I’m hearing from Celtic fans, AP is someone who gets fans on board and very much incorporates them in the journey. Let’s give the guy a chance and get behind him. I also agree with you that we’ve had the Mourinho and Conte’s eras - managers who definitely came and made us all aware that they were doing us all a massive favour by just being at THFC! I feel that Nagelsmann, Slot and Enrique were of a similar ilk. So, in the hope that the deal is signed off and nothing goes wrong at the last moment (after all this is Spurs, our beloved club we are talking about!), I believe we will have a manager, who is genuinely keen and happy to be at THFC. This could be an inspired choice … let’s hope!

It's late here in Belgium but I absolutely wanted to watch this. That was excellent Alasdair. Thanks a lot. I am really curious to know how it will go under Ange. It will be quite interesting, no doubt about that.
Provided Spurs management have the balls to weather the initial storm and give Ange time while instilling his system and mentality into the players you will undoubtedly see improvement. You will also leave a game of football that will thrill and take you on a ride. Very enjoyable to watch.
Always love your vids, but never thought I’d be posting on this 😉 Ange was a slow burner with us, but there were signs it was going in the right direction & fans stuck with it. All turned around when we beat Aberdeen 1-2 away with a late winner & never looked back. A slow start at a much higher level might be a problem, but will all depend on the players buying into the process 100%. All in all, he was great for us & a good bloke. Sorry to lose him now - felt like the start of something. Disappointed with the way he’s gone about it to be honest, but can’t blame him for taking the chance at his age. Will still be keeping an eye out for you guys anyway 👍
Ange is a good appointment, been watching since his appointment in Japan with Yokohama F. Marinos, I was wondering when he'll get a chance in the Prem and here it is, I thought it would be Everton, don't worry about the football Ange plays beautiful attacking football. He's won in Australia for national team aswell, Japan, and Scotland. You guys are in good hands, good luck to spurs
I think he is a good fit for where we are at the moment. Low expectations. The guy is used to people underestimating him. Has won over fans everywhere he has been. We need to go back to being underdogs.
Kane surely can't leave now, Ange is a wild card, quick skim research done and there's a determination to win and to prove the doubters wrong.. I think he'll inspire Kane to win at spurs. perfect fit for us right now. Attacking football, gives youth players opportunities and is only interested in winning while playing attractive, aggressive, front foot football 🎉 #coys
Followed Anges teams for 20+ years and I honestly can’t see Kane fitting in with Anges style. Ange s teams plays an attacking press when not in possession and a lot of dynamism and interchange up front when they have the ball. Means his forwards have to run and run and run and be clinical when they get the chance. Kane might be clinical but not sure he is that dynamic.
@@brianandrea3249 kane has it in him, he is one of the fittest players in the squad and can move when he has to, tracking back to defend and interchanging position is what he does, but kind of agree with you. Perhaps Richi would be a lot more effective in the high press, because mourinho/Conte seem to have ingrained into kane that it's not his place to press, and save energy - which I think has spoiled his game a bit

COYS
I love this appointment. Praying the fans give him a chance.
And the Board stay out of his way.
Looking forward to watching some exciting football!
As a Spurs fan from Melbourne, this is awesome news. BTW the club Ange played for (from 1978 to 1993) was South Melbourne Hellas. Back then, our national competition was called the National Soccer League and almost every club had an affiliation with either Greece, Italy or Croatia.
Strap yourselves in. He’s a winner. Give him time and trust the process
As an aussie I am beyond excited for the appointment of Ange. He's a class manager, but an even classier bloke. COYS!
Attacking football with a positive vibe - can't wait for this! Will hopefully be better than what we've had for a while.
As an Aussie I can guarantee it will certainly be interesting, just convince the Board to stay out of his way.
#Trust The Process
As long as we are seeing a clear football philosophy developing and the squad buying into it and fully on board, that is good enough for me.
This appointment gives me Martin Jol vibes! I just hope the fan base and board fully get behind him and let the man cook. With no European games midweek we might be able take his style and tactics in much quicker.
Even worse than jol it will fail levy should have been removed after contes failed outing as tottenham manager!

Right....time for a new era. Let's hope he brings the sunshine back to the club. FOR GONDOR!!!! Ali you ARE the man. Many thanks for your hard work and great content. CLUB LEGEND COYS!!!
Thanks as ever Ali. I too have listened to some of the pods and read up on big Ange and found myself a convert. Very excited to see if he can get his brand of football working with our lot. Kudos for starting with an Aussie accent. Not entirely awful 😏
Every manager is a gamble and from what know he plays great football so even if doesn’t work at least we’ll be watching entertaining football
I've meet the man a couple of times and he's impressive, he doesn't suffer fools and is a direct talker, but he's loyal and honest and has plenty of ability. I will say that he is as good a coach that deserves this chance to prove he can do it in any league. COYS
Not that loyal really. Just walked out on Celtic
Hugo has been so great for us. Saved us so many points. 11 years at Spurs, a great servant.
We have not been a selling club in recent years apart from Walker and look at how that worked out. So how's that going to change? Zero indication Levy and the Board will do it and no DoF to execute attategy. We all know how we buy. Not a word from the club. Not one.
No one else would come. Now Levy is going to have his arrogant incompetence stuffed back down his throat by a straight talking Australian.

I feel like I came back from my holiday and Postecoglou’s brought Spurs fans a bit of well-deserved sunshine! ☀️
Thanks for such an interesting discussion about our new manager, Ali. Your meandering thought the ages of Spurs managers was loaded with insight too. 💯
COYS!❤
Didn't know much about him but now I'm genuinely excited by the change he will bring to the squad. Clear the dross and the hangers on and build with youth.... and hopefully Harry and Son as well

Spot on and hopefully Ange is the type of no nonsense manager we need to do that. This has to be a two stream approach. Sort the team out and ENIC out.
Despite the Mr Angry activists condemning anything that is done as they would prefer we get relegated if it gets ENIC out. There has to be a balance and possibly this is a step in that direction
To dare is to do, yery proud of Big Ange, he deserves this opportunity and will be fantastic for Spurs. I watched Australia vs UAE in the Asian Cup semi final in Newcastle and Australia pulled through with an attacking philosophy and threat throughout. To Dare is to do and Ange will bring it back.
COYS from Down Under, couldn’t be more excited. Preseason in Perth will be epic
Craig Foster btw 😉 Foz is great btw one of the best Aussie football pundits we got
I will become fully Australian loving fan after the Ashes.
Nearly fell out of my chair when you opened with "G'day" Ali! Thank you for the video as always-- this is an important one for a lot of us
Genuinely excited for postecoglou , we as a fanbase need patience and back him
And keep the Board out if his way.
Spurs fans patience normally extends to about 5 games 😊. Hopefully we'll give him more time
Oh how I’ve been waiting for this. Vspirs have done it again, reeled me in and got me exited for big Ange 🇦🇺
I’m so excited to see what Ange can do. He’s exactly the kind of manager we’ve been crying out for and a brave appointment for once!
At last a real manager. In Ange we trust.
Are you a Ausse or celtic fan ?
Levy will backstab him within 18 months...

I'm actually in Greece at the moment (Rhodes) and last night as the news was really breaking the singer in the hotel bar was singing that song - I come from a land down under.
So, in my world the signs are are telling me this is a good singing. 😂
Definitely wasn't my first choice but starting to get properly excited for Ange
Same!
Hi Alasdair great vlog as always very interesting and entertaining thanks for your hard work take care
Ferenc Puskas was Ange’s manager 1989 - 1992 @ South Melbourne Hellas
Cruyff (Barcelona manager 1988 - 1996) influenced by Puskas.
Pep (Barcelona player/manager 1988 - 2012) influenced by Cruyff
It's late here in Belgium but I absolutely wanted to watch this. That was excellent Alasdair. Thanks a lot. I am really curious to know how it will go under Ange. It will be quite interesting, no doubt about that.
Provided Spurs management have the balls to weather the initial storm and give Ange time while instilling his system and mentality into the players you will undoubtedly see improvement. You will also leave a game of football that will thrill and take you on a ride. Very enjoyable to watch.
Always love your vids, but never thought I’d be posting on this 😉
Ange was a slow burner with us, but there were signs it was going in the right direction & fans stuck with it.
Another fantastic and informative video Alasdair
Ange is a good appointment, been watching since his appointment in Japan with Yokohama F. Marinos, I was wondering when he'll get a chance in the Prem and here it is, I thought it would be Everton, don't worry about the football Ange plays beautiful attacking football. He's won in Australia for national team aswell, Japan, and Scotland.
You guys are in good hands, good luck to spurs
Perfect timing as I begin my deep dive into the history of Ange😂keep it up Ali
Alasdair! Despite being so polite, professional and balanced, you never pass up a chance to throw some shade at Nuno. I Love it... Don't ever change 😅
I'm only hearing great things about this guy Ange and I'm super excited about him joining spurs.

@@wyattfamily8997 Putting the Board in their place is going to be one of his first jobs!
I think he is a good fit for where we are at the moment. Low expectations. The guy is used to people underestimating him. Has won over fans everywhere he has been. We need to go back to being underdogs.
I think this is the video we have all been waiting for.
And an astute ability to source unidentified talented players from around the world.
This is about to turn my bad day into a good day, thank you
