Hi gorgeous a tip for the shampoo. Dilute the shampoo with some water in an applicator bottle. That way you can get directly to your scalp. And it helps with making sure it is all rinsed out. Lovely locs. Have a great weekend. Be safe.
Hello beautiful! Thanks soooo much for the shampoo tip 😍😍😍 I’ll definitely try that next time. And thank you for the lovely compliment. Made my day! Have an amazing weekend!!! 💗💗💗
A quick suggestion - washing hair in the shower is a lot easier 😂😂! Also I section my hair into 3 or 4 parts before washing to really target those areas for thorough cleansing and to reduce matting at the roots and prevents nightmare detangling
Alexis Harris thanks it went really well!! I did like you did & washed it several times and I can definitely tell the difference bc my scalp feels so clean and I feel like a new woman 🙌🏾 😂💜
I also to have dry scalp girl I know your struggle. I have had my locs for 6 months. To retain my moister I use Talijah Wajjid leave in conditioner using the spray bottle, followed by her oil and some moisture oil then lastly adding a small amount of As I Am butter and working from my scalp to the tip of my locs. I hope this helps. I do this about once a week. Sometimes twice during the winter months.
I enjoyed this video. So soothing as well. I've just started my journey as well but I have been told specifically to stay away from any hair grease or gels as it will cause build up overtime. I plan to just use water and oil for retwists
I’m so happy I stumbled on your page. I’m a new subbie and in the process of making my starter loc appointment this month. You soothing voice and information has been everything! Thanks and your locs are gorgeous ❤ Happy New Year 🎉
I'm almost 7 weeks with starter locs. I've only washed once so far and that was week 4 the day before my 1st re-twist. I used stocking cap the 1st time I washed afraid my locs might unravel. But watching this video makes me want to wash without a stocking cap to get a "fuller" wash. What do you think?
You may want to try the neutrogena shampoo instead of the acv rinse since your locs are still babies to help with some of the build up. It will dry your hair out so maybe dilute a little, I love you the thickness of your hair texture, your locs are coming along nicely ❤️
Awww, thanks so much for the tips!!! I’ll definitely give that a try. I appreciate your knowledge so much 🙏🏾💗 thanks for sending some love and light my way!!!!!
A good idea is to wash starter locks very rarely And keeping them out of the water like washing them maybe once a month or so so that they don’t get unraveled too often and then when they mature enough to stay on their own you just start washing them weekly
Your hair looked so good here. Just started with two strand twist yesterday and I'm excited. Your sizing looks similar to mine...about how many locs do you have? #newsubbie
Great question! How long have you been loc’d? If it’s early on, I’d recommend intentionally and gently pulling apart each loc as soon as you wash them so they all remain separate 💖 if your locs have already matured, I’d recommend having a professional instantly loc your roots with an instant loc tool so that your roots can be neater and they will merge together less. You can also try to wash one section at a time. I hope this helps! Thanks for being here 💖💖💖
I just got two strand twists two days ago and when I was at school playing basketball it was itching and I don’t know why can you tell me what I should I use
Hey there! Try an oil or grease with natural light ingredients. I have several videos on this that you may find helpful. Check out my channel in depth 💗 also try rose water!
Your back looks like it has a lot of buildup. Have you tried an ACV soak?? Even though your scalp is clean your dreads can still have a lot of buildup. Dreads are looking great. Much love from North Carolina!!💗💗💗
Hello lovely 😊💗 thanks for the tip!!! I haven’t tried an ACV soak/rinse for my locs yet but I definitely will!! Is there a formula you recommend that I can make from home or a brand that you like that comes already made? Let me know! Also how often? Sometimes I’m so focused on trying to get my scalp clean that I forget to take care of the loc itself. Lol! Thanks again for your help 💗💗💗😍😍😍
Is your hair budding Alexis?? 😍😍 woooow. I just retwisted my hair and it looks and feels really good. I'm loving the content and must express how important the first few minutes of this video were to me. Now I am able to relate more. Thank you beautiful. Love always from Namibia🇳🇦 ❤️❤️❤️
Hello beautiful Kauna!!! 😍😍😍 you know I look forward to your comments EVERY WEEK!!! So happy you’re tuning in and leaving some love. And YES, I definitely feel like my locs are starting to bud 😍 can’t believe you noticed it!!! Lol you’re the best... Sending you lots of love from Atlanta, GA 💗💗💗🥳🥳🥳
Try using Apple cider vinegar mix with water. Start lite, say half a cup vinegar to 1cup of water. Spray it directly on the scalp, wait 30 minutes or so and wash your hair as usually.
Great vid Alexis. I just posted my first vid on my loc journey. It would mean a lot to me if you checked it out & even leave some feedback if you’d like. 💕
I wish you felt this was more encouraging, but it was hard to wash and film in my kitchen sink so early in my journey. Still I enjoyed it and my locs are flourishing 18 months later 🤍 Take care and be well.

Great demonstration...How do you keep your roots from combining when you wash? Do you leave it down until your retwist.

Alright now, Chrystal! 😍😊 dont hype me up!!! Lol but seriously thank you lovely
@@AlexisHarris 😂 😂 😂
I restarted my starter locs for parts and size adjustments so this was also helpful! 💓
Hi sister 😳
Sooooo glad!!! 💗💗💗 Did you make them bigger or smaller?
@AlexisHarris I made them bigger, [ medium/ bigish] 🤣easier to re twist on my own, and a bit better to manage.
Awww, big-ish 😂🤣 I LOVE it!!! Definitely worth fixing whatever needs to be changed early on 🙌🏾💗🥳
@@AlexisHarris yeah, lol it's like my third set of starters, but I'm sticking with this!

Your, locs are Beautiful, i,love your video 📹 okkk
I started my locjouney barely a month ago and i am afraid of untangle my locs on wash
I completely understand your hesitation. Do what makes you comfortable :)
I have a bad time with locs marrying together. Do you have any tips or info?

Wait a minute 😳 this video is a 1yr ago? Wow the growth
what will happen if you didn’t get all the shampoo out all the way but got most of it cause it feel like its a little in my hair
it will cause build-up and / or dried locs. you have to be careful and always rince your hair thourougly :)
Hey Dexter! Great question. I agree with Gulay. You should re-rinse thoroughly :)
Your back looks like it has a lot of buildup. Have you tried an ACV soak?? Even though your scalp is clean your dreads can still have a lot of buildup. Dreads are looking great. Much love from North Carolina!!💗💗💗

For that very dry part of your hair or all over you scalp.

Alexis Harris thank you. I was so scared.
How you're washing your hair is not encouraging, the hair is not foaming how will the hair get neat
I wish you felt this was more encouraging, but it was hard to wash and film in my kitchen sink so early in my journey. Still I enjoyed it and my locs are flourishing 18 months later 🤍 Take care and be well.
You can wash your starter locs with a wig cap still on while washing so they won’t unravel
