If you're troubleshooting your air cooled chiller and think it's the flow switch, think again! In this video, we explore common issues with evaporator flow loss in air cooled chillers.
In this video we go through a service call i had on a Daikin AGZ Chiller to diagnose evap flow loss. This video breaks down a design flaw, and highlights the point that its not always a bad chiller flow switch. This is a very common issue, and many technicians will change the flow switch when the machine is constantly tripping out, but its not always the issue. This video gives you insight into how I troubleshoot problems on a chiller, and chilled water systems. This fundamental applies to Trane chillers, Daikin chillers, York chillers, And Every other chiller in the industry. if you follow these steps, you will be able to diagnose poor water flow on every chiller you walk up too, and find other system problems.
    This video is for:
    Building engineers
    HVAC technicians
    Mechanical engineers
    Aspiring chiller technicians
HVAC contractors looking to get into chillers
Someone who wants to learn more about how to troubleshoot chillers.

Nice job finding the real problem, definitely helps when you know all sensors and transducers are reading accurately 👍

thanks brother, some guys were asking for these types of videos, so i think I'm going to be doing more of them if they are helpful

Awesome video. I lost it when you mentioned the 3/4 in bypass valve. Wtf 😂
This was cool though for someone in the process of learning chillers. Thank you!

I giggled when I saw it too lmao. I don’t even know how no body said anything when they were installing it. 😂

Thanks for talking about this. Had the same issue for quite some time. Our chiller does multiple fan coils with two way valves and programming cannot open bypass quick enough on differential pressure change when demand stops, flow shutdown.

absolutely brother. did you guys get the programming side of things resolved? typically they can close the two way vales in steps to allow the bypass time to respond, unless they are just open close valves? Also, a good rule of thumb is no more than a 10% change in flow or load the chiller sees in a 10 minute period. let me know if your still fighting this, and if you draw me up a small diagram, i can do a video on how it should be set up in the automation. I'm sure others would find it helpful as well. let me know brother
@isaiahkassy2615 actually requested i do more service call videos, so i will be doing more of these.
