Fac in air is just brilliant. I use .30cal and 177 and it's been a revelation for me. I found the noise of 17hmr and ricochet risk of 22lr just ruined my enjoyment of a afternoon on the rabbits. Simply love fac, more please.
Yeah, that's my issue too. I am hundreds of yards from the next house, but I can see them through the woods in winter. I don't want the police coming round to let me know I broke a window, even if it would be legal for me to hunt in the field behind my back yard with a full bore rifle. Legal and safe aren't always the same thing. I am probably going for 22 or 25. I am tempted by the 30 but squirrels and chipmunks won't know the difference.
@@cageordie nailing a squirrel with 762 (30 cal) is very satisfying, sort of pay back for having to watch them raid birds nests on their quest for scrambled eggs. You will not go wrong whichever direction you elect. I have never looked back. Just concerned over the lead debate now.
In the UK, there are pros and cons about FAC vs non FAC air rifles and where you can use them legally. I would like to see Andy to cover this for viewers.
Living in America it is interesting seeing the level of airpower gun technology. It also makes it hard to warrant the cost of having them when rimfire guns cost less than compared to air powered ones. The best selling point for me is no registration and strict government controls on airpower guns. That is sadly not the case for you. I do enjoy learning from your videos and others. Thank you for sharing your hobby with others.
0:32 Hambini-style 😆 I woke up immediatly. Nice review, not just "it's the new one buy it through my affiliate link" but a real test at several distances and with different ammos. Very good work, 200k well deserved subs coming soon !
Concur with you about the side lever. I shoot lefty because of my dominant eye. Bought a Walther Reign Bullpup intending to swop the lever over but never did as it felt more natural to use the non-trigger hand for loading with a biathlon style lever.
You shouldn't notice much difference between slugs and pellets on calm day's, but on windy day's the slugs will outshoot pellets keeping way better groups while retaining more energy.
Very interesting review but a big gun. My FAC is a mk1 wildcat .22 shooting about 30/32ftlbs. It can produce groups equally as good as that at a measured 80yds. I’ve never attempted to take live quarry at such a distance but up to 60yds crows, pigeons etc are stone dead with square on body shots - always. Rabbits are always head shots at any distance with any calibre at any power setting. I’ve never thought of buying one of these super powerful air rifles because they are trying to replicate the power and performance of a .22RF and they are getting closer but the rimfire does it so much better in terms of cost, weight and performance - but - an FAC air rifle is far more versatile and if I had to choose between them the 30ftlb air rifle wins every time. 90% of the shots I take with the Rimfire I could take with Wildcat but there are lots of shots I take with the Wildcat that I would never take with the Rimfire. Great video.
I have this exact rifle. No need to add an additional moderator. The rifle is just as quiet without one. Get the shorter one as the longer barrel version is a bit heavy and hard to manage off the bench. Other than that this is as good as it gets regarding accuracy and power.
I found similar results turning down the power on my aea hp varmint. 25 , i was at 160 bar on regulator with no hammer spring adjustment, was about 60 ft lbs ,the 25 grain jsb while they shot good would occasionally throw a weird one , i believe they were just going to fast , jsb ssys that pellet behaves the best at 850- 875 fps, So i dropped the reg down to 150 bar and installed a small shim on hammer spring , dropped me down to 54 ft lbs and 850 fps which is perfect , last weekend i was shooting 75 yards and even with a little wind keeping it within about an inch
Looks nice but very heavy when compared to an FX Wildcat MK3 compact. Mine with a scope and with a Donny FL comes in just over 3KG. I think there are merits to left and right cocking handles, good review as ever.
Great review! AGT's are fantastic. Those hades have an absolutely atrocious BC, so not surprising the wind drift was so bad out at longer range. It effectively negates one of the big advantages of the higher power and caliber airguns. Definitely worth testing more ammo in that gun I think.
Totally agree - he should have left it with the initial power and test it with slugs only! Few types of them and there can be even better results on even longer range - 100m !!
My v2 ,25 does not like hades past 47 yds much better with jsb king 25.39 or AA diablo field 25.4 as stated elsewhere 5 pence sized groups at 75yards with jsb or AA.
Thanks for a great review. I just wish I had a justifiable reason to purchase a PCP. I'm really limited to just plinking, and my springers are more than suitable for that. I really enjoy your reviews. Cheers from San Angelo, TX. I'll be waiting on that BSA review.
Nice review as usual Andy, but I have to disagree about sub 12 .25 losing more energy over distance than smaller calibres. If you look at energy levels for a 50m target using Hawkes ChairGun software for an 11ftlb rifle then .25 retains more energy than .22 and twice that of .177. It does present more of an accuracy challenge however with a much bigger parabolic curve to target making use of a rangefinder more necessary. The lower velocity makes time to target longer allowing crosswinds to have more of an effect or the target to move can also make it a more challenging calibre in sub 12. Just my 2 penneth.
man, sub 12 is really neutering what the .25 can even do....my stock Hatsan BT65SB in .25 will do over 70ft lb depending on pellet type. dont really have to worry about pellet drop at 1050 fps. The UK is a sad place for shooters i think
Nigel I completely agree with you, I have a sub 12 in .25 and it hits damn hard regardless of distance out to 60m. But like you said it is much more difficult to allow for distance. What most people don’t realise is the power that Vulcan 3 is putting out in .25, is that it’s more than capable of taking any animal in the UK and not just small game. It’s amazing how so many still think they’re toys!
would love to see more FAC rifles being reviewed, because here in holland we haven't got a power limitation on air rifles, you can buy anything from 7,5 joules right up to 256 joules, have you ever reviewed the RWS power bolts?
do you ever review daystate airguns? i saw one on a american airgun channel and it was pretty cool. (it was a daystate alpha wolf) it had a computer controllable power output and a build in chrono. also what is that bench you are shooting from is it made for shooting? what is it called.
Hi Andy I still own my original .22 BSA Super 10 MK2 that’s with John Bowket at the moment, what I would like to know just how much better are rifles now if at all I know it is heavy but it is very accurate pellet on pellet, when it comes back it will have the new regulator shorter barrel and trigger assembly polished even though this rifle has never let me down once I think it can still hold its own what’s your take maybe a old versus new video.
I have a vulcan 2 .25fac its EXACTLY the same size as a sub 12 .22 .177 with the 500mm barrel. it is VERY accurate with .25 jsb kings and AAdiablo field in 25 grn running at 46ft lb 910 fps and does 50 shots per fill. i have done a 5 pence size group indoors at 75yds rested on my hand on a gun bag so with a proper rest it will be better!! Its not supposed to shoot slugs but it likes zan 26 grn at 896fps and gives decent groups at 50yds which is the furthest i have shot with slugs. power wise i have shot pellets at 50ft lb with 25 grn pellet and a friend has the same gun and shoots 34 grn pellets at 55ft lb and gets 40 shots. farthest rabbit head shot so far has been 75yds no problem.
I envy you so much. That thing is friggin nice. .25 ammo is hard to find and expensive though. Sometimes even .22 is hard to find in sport department sections of stores. .177 , no problem. I remember there used to be .20 cal, which is great because velocity is similar to .177 but is also near the hitting power of .22. Have you ever shot a .20 ?
I still have a beeman r1 .20 supermagnum i bought in late 80s ,pretty sure i paid like $250 for it back then which i looked it up for the hell of it and $250 in 1988 money is equal to a little over $600 today , lol what was i thinking, but i was a single guy back then making good money for the time ,i also still have a few tins of the .20 cal pellets, that has been a great gun, also it still looks brand new , very cool classic break barrel

Ahh, this reminds me of my youth in Britain, shooting bunnies in Scotland with a Sharp Innova. That's a very nice gun, but I don't see the advantage to me over one at half the price or less which will shoot just about as well, despite having nearly 5 acres I don't have any long distance shots. So happy I don't have to deal with the police and FACs anymore. If I order a 1,000 fps 30 today I will have it on Thursday and that's the end of it. I really don't miss having Plod looking down their nose at me when, as a person with a security clearance and an FAC, I probably had a much cleaner record than them.
Awesome kit!! I've sent my fac cert off for renewal and still waiting, didn't put airgun on it though which recently I've been regretting, anyone know if you can add to "authorised to purchase" list when feo comes to visit like you used to be able to? I'm guessing to pick up a reasonably priced used gun a .22 of say 30ftlb would be the best bet. 👍
I admire this ai rifle....but I can't choose this for the next of mine... cause it hasn't got a regulator of the power easy to change the velocity of the slugs !
With the higher tune that was initially set on the gun, you should've tried the slugs prior to adjusting it for pellets. Slugs tend to shoot better at those higher speeds, might've been a great tune for that ammunition. Sometimes, slugs at the normal pellet speeds are just mediocre.
Hello from France and thank you for all your videos. I have no Diana Stormrider and for practical reasons I would like to fill her with co2.. So here is my question: apart from that there will be less power, is there a real danger in doing so, given that the elements are almost similar to the Diana chaser co2, I think it should not there will be problems considering the co2 is 850 psi and the Stormrider fill cylinder is rated for 3000 psi... Hi Andy Hope you are well my mate, now that’s a nice bit of kit, I really do like it and to be honest I always say you get what you pay for in life, I think 🤔 it’s a bargain. Great review and content mate 😊😊😊
So you won't be trading the Daystate Wolverine .303 up for the AEA Zeus Gen 2 32" barrel, in .72cal, using 820gr pellets @ 1500 ft/lbs then Andy? 🤔 I'd love to see you review that!
Why do you advise taking the shorter barrel option in the case of non-FAC version? Wouldn't the slightly LONGER barrel be a (slightly) better option in that case ("OK, we've got little energy, but with a longer barrel we'll have little more reach than with the shorter one")?
What a beast! I love the variety of reviews to suit every shooter. A good run of budget belters and now a premium fac. Made my day watching this.

Phenomenal accuracy from that gun at long range!
Great review and yes keep the FAC's comming!
Lovely 👍👍👍
Yes please in more FAC
Yes please Andy what a nice piece of kit
Yes more FAC please i have a air ranger .25 set a 60 ft lbs i bought this before all the slugs came out, instead of 80 ft lbs!

You should see our knife 🇬🇧 laws. Anything more than a 2.6 inch blade in your procession lands you 5 years inside !
Yes please! More high power😁🙏👍🏻
Superb, thanks for showing the FAC larger calibre stuff. Great to watch on a Friday morning
Excellent as always. Can you make a full video of the Day State Alpha Wolf HP Caliber .22 and full tune from the Advanced Shooting section. Thank you.

I just bought an FN PS90 and this reminds me a lil of this vulcan here. love that bullpup
Interesting video. Crazy how the wind changed the point of impact.
Yes, more please 👍
That AGT is a beautiful piece of kit, my wish list has grown by one. Come on that lottery win....lol
Great review as always, looking forward to seeing the R10.
I have a spare .25 on my FAC......might get filled pretty soon
Always a pleasure 🙏 ☺️
Very nice 👌 👍
Cheers from sunny Florida 🌞 ☀️ 😎
Brilliant as always
Hey you’ll be doing lawn mower reviews next with the size of that garden Andy!!
Have the .30 love it!!!! Been waiting on the .25 with the CZ barrel!! Going to turn it into a 95fpe monster!! 😍😍😍
Great review thank you, great to see a higher end gun being reviewed. Looking forward to the FAC R10 review even though I 'm sub 12

Do you think you will be getting the glock 17 gen 5 pellet pistol in for review the one that's belt fed in the magazine
Is it not adjustable in the field .?.......................so you can adjust yourself for conditions or does it need tools

my question M3 impact or vulcan 3? also ease of tuning between the two...

Early start Andy🤣
test dbmeter with or without silencer...

With the AGT line is the action itself the same across the Uragan, Argus and Vulcan? Are they just different ergos and shrouds?
No the the vulcan and uragan are totally different designs under the sticks as well.
The Argus is made by Kalibrgun
With the higher tune that was initially set on the gun, you should've tried the slugs prior to adjusting it for pellets. Slugs tend to shoot better at those higher speeds, might've been a great tune for that ammunition. Sometimes, slugs at the normal pellet speeds are just mediocre.
Nice one ❤

Ooh, do a vulcan 3 with slugs. Tune it up to just below hypersonic with the heaviest slugs you can get.
Great review as ever. Any chance you can review the Steyr Pro X / Pro X Scout or other Steyr rifles and see if they are worth the price they cost please
but dont slugs carry more power down range than pellets
You suggest the long barrel for the FAC, what differences is the shorter barrel FAC?
Andy . What is the criteria for being allowed to own a FAC Rifle ? The licensing laws do my head in !!!

I'd love to see you review that!
Hello Andy, I am having a job in finding your AAR ON AIR channel.
I thought the unchoked Barrel was only on the .30. Do you have to make a special request?
Why do you advise taking the shorter barrel option in the case of non-FAC version? Wouldn't the slightly LONGER barrel be a (slightly) better option in that case ("OK, we've got little energy, but with a longer barrel we'll have little more reach than with the shorter one")?

How about the .30?
why dont you ever try slugs as opossed to pellets in the cz barrel
