You do such a good job with these videos, I love watching them over and over again and sharing them with my railfanning peers because you can learn something that would take an hour to research in a matter of 8 minutes.
This is an awesome video. Good work! I spent 5 years 2003 to 2008 using the Canal street station during my commute to NYU from South Brooklyn. I would transfer from the Q to the R at Canal, and get off 8th street. The best train was the Q diamond. It would run express in Brooklyn, and on Broadway! I remember when it rained, the southern end of the manhattan bridge bound, brooklyn bound canal street station would have a waterfall. The water stains are still there and it's a common occurrence during storms. I can probably dig up video and pictures of this. The best was when I would get on a southbound Q train running local at 8th street, and it would make the crossover and run express to brooklyn on the Q line. No transfer!
Glad you enjoyed it! I would love to see the videos of the “waterfall”. I love when there are convenient reroutes. I need to take the 4 Av Local (usually marked as R) to the Sea Beach (usually marked as N), so I have to transfer, but sometimes a Local train will be marked as W and those usually switch tracks and go to Sea Beach, it’s great!
A slight correction about the 3rd track on the lower level. It's still there but is no longer used because the track there is in very poor condition. Other than that, nice video!
Yes, I said that it is still there but the third rail was removed and it is no longer used. I removed it from the track map to avoid confusion as I did not want to include an unusable track on the map.
Heads up! I was on the bus, and I drove past the East New York repair yard, and I saw heavily graffitied modern cars, R110s maybe? Anyway I couldn’t get a good look. Maybe check it out for a video? Idk. Very good video as always, btw.
hmmm...I don't know if a youtube comment justifies me driving there, do you have any good evidence, maybe recent photos of the yard or something? it's quite far away.
Most likely the next time I'll be able to go there is Tuesday, and after I get the photos, how do I share them with you? Do you have a discord server I can post them in?
The most scariest part is when you riding the train between Canal street and City Hall you’ll see a bunch of trains that are always lay-up during nights & weekends, also it could give anybody nightmares as well, they need to do something about those creepy null lay-ups
@@TRRailfan it looks strange. Theres no benches on the platform. Theres also a pool of water towards the southern end in the track bed area. I am not an employee though.
Beachs tunnel still there across from city under a building its got a waiting room. No access to public. Landlord of building is a ass. I know where it is everyone does. The part that was destroyed is what is the lower level city hall. On the bmt. The rest still remains. Anyone who gets to view or record it. There has been rewards offered up to 1 million dollars. Thankx for the history trip, the BMT Broadway Line is one of my favorite lines in the NYC subway

3:44 Nowadays I see 75 footers such as the R46s and R68s running on the Q and N.

Back in 2009-10, I used have W-303 on three trips, and the layup in City Hall's lower level
Those aren't mirrors.
That's two-way glass. It's meant for you not to see in, but still allow the people inside to see out.
OHHHH THAT EXPLAINS A LOT
thanks
That's the tower that controls everything on the Broadway line
Congratulations bro for passing 1K subscribers

A month or so ago a whole train got "bombed".. Think it happened at the M yard. It was like the 80's, top to bottom covered in graffiti
7:02 I have one where an r46 q train said "K WORLD TRADE CTR" and "K 8 AV LOCAL"
3:45 "I couldn't imagine what it would look like with a 75-footer"
Queens Blvd CBTC: I'm about to end this man's *whole career*
Thanks to these railfans I can now map out how to get into these abandoned tunnels thx so much bro

Very nice video
5:30 is it safe to try to explore and go to the lower level? how often are trains stored there/go on the tracks at that station
Really not sure, you'd have to ask an employee
It may be less busy during the night/weekends maybe, but I couldn't tell you for sure
Can you do a IRT city hall/worth street/18 street/91 street history video like a 20 minute long video 5 mins on each stations plis I’m subscribed
From the poll results it looks like that’s what I’m doing next. Thanks for subscribing!
