The deepest curiosities and fascinations humanity may have are almost taboo yet your vast knowledge and talent dares on explaining them. Hats off to you. Since you left us in the abyss regarding the heat death scenario, I would like to lighten up the mood by not attempting to change or dispute any data presented by your documentary but by making a sugestion to the developers from Hello Games, that wrote No Man’s Sky. I would completely immerse myself in an update of that game that had aspects of what you have presented in this outstanding documentary. Happy Christmas to you too and a Happy new 2025 full of documentaries just like this one.

You have this great content creator these days on YT, Elle Cordova - a true nerd's nerd.
She wrote a great poem about the Big Bang/Black holes:
There was no up, there was no down
There was no side to side
There was no light, there was no dark
    Nor shape of any kind
There were no stars, or planet Mars
    Or protons to collide
There was no up, there was no down
There was no side to side
    And furthermore, to underscore
    This total lacking state
There was no here, there was no there
    Because there was no space
    And in this ultra-dense void
Which can't be thought of as a place
There was no time; so no minutes, hours, days.
Of all the paradoxes that belabor common sense
I think this one is the greatest
    This time outside events
Because how did we go from nothing, to infinitely dense?
From immeasurably small to inconceivably immense?
But before we get unmoored, from the question at the start
Let's take a moment to marvel, at when math becomes an art
Because we don't have to understand it, to know there was a time
There was no up, there was no down
There was no side to side
There was no light, there was no dark
    Nor shape of any kind

    What a Christmas treat!
Without a doubt the best, most mysterious, most alluring subject in all of science: a black hole. The key to so many answers to the most troubling questions in science.
What goes on beyond the event horizon?
What is the nature of the singularity?
Could they be the key to understanding how our universe began?
We're so fortunate to have an individual, such as yourself, whose passion for storytelling and creativity is only matched by his passion for cosmology. Here's to another trip around the sun, and for our continued hope to "never stop reaching for the stars".

@SEA , you forgot about quasi-stars , they are stars with black holes at thier core. It is something that eats itself from the inside out.

This thought crossed my mind too, it’s the only other theory I know of for how the supermassives formed so early. I believe he’s mentioned it on the channel before, so kinda odd that he left that out

Props to the cameraman, who went filming all those supermassive black holes and returned back to Earth unscathed.

Galaxies are the accretion disks of supermassive blackholes that formed in the early universe, which is in a black hole itself.

That's like saying the planets are the sun's accretion disk, or that the moon is the earth's accretion disk. There is a difference between an accretion disk and a structure of orbiting bodies

Exactly thank you. I don't know why I've always believed that intuitively it's the only thing that fits. That's how you universes reproduce. Only the most massive and good looking black holes get to reproduce and create new universes. Natural selection at a universal scale. 🤣🤣

As a very amateur amateur astronomer and cosmologist, I only understand about 7.3% of this material. However, I find all of the topics the presenter has offered fascinating, and appreciate the effort at goes into researching each subject as well as the animations and graphics.
There's no doubt with the JSWT and future instruments (both here and in space), explanations for dark energy and dark matter will be found, and new laws of physics will be created to explain singularities and voids. At 66, having experienced the space race, the moon landing, the Voyager and other inter-planetary missions, we've only unveiled the tip of the iceberg. Thank you helping enlighten the masses as to how marvelous the universe is!

thank you so much, i cant really quite put to words how good you made this video. you have broke new ground in science communication. i appreciate the simplification of hawking radiation, cuz i may have heard similar but your explanation rang much clearer to a layman me
