I think Eva means "The Rescuers". Another previous Match Game participant also voiced a character in that film - Joe Flynn. He appeared on Match Game in January 1974, and recorded the part of Snoops shortly before his death that July.
H/H match update: ... ~~~Today's action: For the lack of a single hammer, our champion is defeated after five victories and $7,250. *Today's audience match question: "Babes in ________"* (My thoughts: Toyland, the Woods, Bikinis) The celebs: Richard (Arms), Charles (Toyland), Brett (The Woods) The choice: Toyland The answers: The Wood, Arms, Toyland Our champion starts off with $500 by taking Charles's suggestion. Somehow, I think this new champion is still more likely to choose Richard than Charles. Let's see... Yes. After King Richard's short vacation yesterday, this is now his first consecutive play again, but he's been chosen 143 of the past 158 times. (Charles answered six of the remaining questions, Fannie took three, and Rosemary Forsyth, Nipsey Russell, Meg Bennett, Scoey Mitchell, Brett, and Trish Stewart got one each.) Stats: Richard has matched 83 of his 198 most recent attempts (41.9%), 66 of his last 155 attempts (42.6%), 46 of his last 105 attempts (43.8%), 22 of his last 58 attempts (37.9%), and 3 of his last 15 attempts (20.0%). His overall success rate is *41.6%* and this is his 676th attempt so far. For the sake of comparison: Joyce has matched 3 of her 4 attempts (75%), Gary has matched 5 of his 7 attempts (71.4%), Charles has matched 33 of his 69 attempts (47.8%), Brett has matched 29 of her 69 attempts (42.0%), and Richard has matched 281 of his 675 attempts (41.6%). Eva hasn't answered a head-to-head question yet. *Today's H/H question: "Detroit________"* (This should be easy. Michigan. Simple, elegant, basic.) The champion looks confident. Richard glances toward Joyce and quickly finishes his answer. "Tigers," says our champion. Definitely a valid response, but it seems less broad than Michigan. In other words, pretty much everyone in the country knows that Detroit is in Michigan, but a much smaller group would know the MLB team (although they did win the World Series in 1968). The audience voices their disapproval for "Tigers" and when prompted by Gene, they shout out "Michigan!" Oh, no. Richard did say "Michigan" which I deem the definitive answer. No H/H match today. ~~~Finally, here's our updated leader board showing the 11 celebs with at least 3 H/H matches, ranked by accuracy: (Note: An asterisk before a celebrity's name signifies that she has "retired" from the show and her H/H stats are now complete.) (Note: For tied scores, I consider the one with the greater number of matches to be higher; if the matches are equal, the celeb who first achieved that score goes on top.) Orson Bean - 100% (4 wins in 4 attempts). TIE: (*)Jo Anne Worley - 75% (3 wins in 4 attempts). TIE: Joyce Bulifant - 75% (3 wins in 4 attempts). Gary Burghoff - 71.4% (5 wins in 7 attempts). Betty - 50.0% (19 wins in 38 attempts). Fannie - 48.3% (14 wins in 29 attempts). Charles - 47.8% (33 wins in 69 attempts). Jo Ann Pflug - 44.4% (8 wins in 18 attempts). Brett - 42.0% (29 wins in 69 attempts). Richard - 41.6% (281 wins in 676 attempts). Bert Convy - 33.3% (5 wins in 15 attempts). *These stats include every head-to-head match from episode 1 through 1022, excluding the lost/missing/damaged episodes: 31, 32, 33, 311, 312, 313, 324, 325, 645, and 910. (As per MatchGameProductions, these episodes "are nowhere to be found and also aren't in the Goodson/Todman Library. Sadly, looks like they are lost forever!") -- Also, note that episode 849 was never produced. Additionally, these stats do, however, include the H/H results of missing episode 968 as those results were revealed in episode 969.
At 11:18 Gene whispered to Brett, “Eva will be jealous!” It would have been totally in character for Brett to respond, “What’s she got that I ain’t got?”
I think the 1950s through the '70s/mid-80s was the era of the blonde, bleached or otherwise. Then in the '80s, there was the backlash of 'dumb blonde' jokes, as well as lots of immigration by dark-haired groups.
That 1st guy contestant, Harold, certainly is mature for his age, acting & speaking older than, what was it...27??... 🤔 (But, he does LOOK that young, though...)

@@80sEric I thought that it's a good thing IfIWereaMatchGamePanelist was never a Match Game panelist because his (or her) answers and explanations are stupid.
It does sometimes appear that way, but I don't think its the case. Charles is constantly scribbling on cards....who knows what he's writing. Like at 14:12 he's writing away and there's clearly no answer to be written at that point. I've noticed times when gene comes for his answer and he's writing something but always shows a card that was face down, clearly not the one he was writing on. I burn with curiosity to know what he was constantly writing. I guess only Brett knows lol
Love Eva Gabor...great glamorous humor.💞
Eva is hilarious!
Eva is just BEAUTIFUL (& hilarious)!! 💖😁
I think Eva means "The Rescuers". Another previous Match Game participant also voiced a character in that film - Joe Flynn. He appeared on Match Game in January 1974, and recorded the part of Snoops shortly before his death that July.
Eva was married to her fifth and final husband, aerospace executive Frank Jameson, when she appeared on Match Game.
Kind of neat to see Harold's reaction to Eva's compliment (10:00 - 10:10). I would probably react the same way, honestly.
ROFL! Another good episode, Eva seems to be having fun.. ;0)

My first though for the hair question was Howard Cosell, LOL. Then I though Telly Savalas (Kojak).
I wonder if Eva's pearls are from her mother, Jolie Gabor's jewelry store. Ropes of cultured pearls were a signature item of her business.
I like Joyce's PRETTY pastel shirt! 🌈
Did Gene believe, Greta Garbo wasn't alive anymore? She was. She avoided the publicity since the 40s and died in 1990.
That was funny at 19:01
At 11:18 Gene whispered to Brett, “Eva will be jealous!” It would have been totally in character for Brett to respond, “What’s she got that I ain’t got?”

this show certainly have a plethora of bleached blondes!.......

There's something odd about his story.
That made me laugh at 19:17
Lower tier wins again with hammers
Babes in TOYLAND 🙂
Eva was a very classy but reserved lady, her sister was more the wild child and was in the social seen.
ROTF.... Joyce ..." Who's Garbo?"
Top tier let Carol down , but she had won a lot and was a real nice contestant
Oh my word, Saint Richard lost for the contestant...AGAIN!
Give it a rest would you please? Negativity gets old really quickly.
I would be more into sports myself in the head to head.
Detroit Tigers?
I’m guessing Harold is more into sports based on his answer.
Apparently, so am I. My first thought was Detroit "LIONS".
15:55 is usually the problem when Gene asks the audience what they would have said when they don’t like your answer.
