    Lol when Betty threw the written card up to Charles and he said no, it's not " Shelley Beans". Classic

      The Betty White Show was not very entertaining. I see why it didn't last.

      Shelley Winters is also a "Match Game '7x" alum! She occupied the sixth seat in episodes 16 to 20 back in 1973. This was before either Brett or Charles had first appeared. The full panel that week was: Dick Gautier, Barbara Stuart, Jack Carter, Jo Ann Pflug, Richard Dawson, and Shelley Winters.

    ~~~Today's action:
    Today it's Mary Ann Mobley in the role of the "villainess." She was the champion's last hope for a tie score, but instead of "Boobs," Mary Ann revealed "Hose" and the game was over. Our smiling and gracious champion had won three games and $650. (I'm always a bit sad when a champion wins multiple games and has so little to show for it in the way of prize money.)
    *Today's audience match question: "Shelly________"*
    (My thoughts: Winters*, ???, ???) - I'll pass on the rest of this name question. Too much work trying to remember who was famous nearly a half century ago.
    *Spelling doesn't count! I thought of Shelley Winters since she's a "Match Game '7x" alum. She occupied the sixth seat in episodes 16 to 20 back in 1973, but wasn't chosen to answer a H/H question. Shelley was actually a MG panelist before either Brett or Charles had first appeared. The full panel that week was: Dick Gautier, Barbara Stuart, Jack Carter, Jo Ann Pflug, Richard Dawson, and Shelley Winters.
    The celebs: Richard (Winters), Betty (Berman), Charles via Richard (Mann)
    - Coincidentally, all three suggestions are for people named "Shelley" instead of "Shelly" as spelled in the question!
    The choice: Winters
    The answers: Fabares, Berman, Winters (All of the answers are also "Shelley" - not a single suggestion or answer matched the spelling in the actual question!)
    With a new champion comes a new guessing game: Who will she choose for the H/H match? Not much suspense though, it seems obvious that this champion will follow the crowd...
    No hesitation. This is now King Richard's 15th consecutive time answering the H/H question, and he's matched 2 of his past 5 times which is about par for him overall, but looking back over the past five weeks or so, he's definitely been on a hot streak.
    Stats: Richard has matched 122 of his 277 most recent attempts (44.0%), 61 of his last 137 attempts (44.5%), 42 of his last 93 attempts (45.2%), and 14 of his past 29 attempts (48.3%). His overall success rate is *42.4%* and this is his 755th attempt so far.
    For the sake of comparison: Betty has matched 19 of her 38 attempts (50.0%), Charles has matched 34 of his 70 attempts (48.6%), Richard has matched 320 of his 754 attempts (42.4%), Brett has matched 30 of her 71 attempts (42.3%), and Mary Ann has matched 1 of her 5 attempts (20.0%). Tom Poston hasn't yet had a shot at a H/H question.
    *Today's H/H question: "Code________"*
    (After years of working in a hospital I have to say Code Blue. But there's also code red, code breaker, code switching, others...)
    The champion looks pensive. Richard is scribbling away, but he looks toward Mary Ann and pauses, reevaluating his answer. He seems to push it aside and look to Betty as if to get her input. We see the champion, still weighing the possibilities, and when the camera returns to our H/H King, he's writing something again. One last look at Betty, and he files his card. This one took him longer than average. I'm wondering what choices he was debating. I guess we'll see in a moment... (Just before the camera returns to center stage, I see Mary Ann's hand discarding a card, apparently containing her suggestion. Did Richard take her suggestion? It looked that way to me, but impossible to be sure.)
    Our new champion surprises me by saying "Mark." I honestly am not sure what a "Code Mark" (or "Codemark") is or might be. The audience give a unified, but soft, awwww.
    Gene says he was stumped and didn't think of anything. Richard offers two suggestions ("Word" and "R" - I'm not sure I heard/understood that second one) before revealing his final answer: "Three." Yikes. Apparently that was a tough question for 1977. I think it would be easier today, with Code Blue being so well-known through TV dramas and such.
    No H/H match today.
    ~~~Here's our updated leader board showing the 11 celebs with at least 3 H/H matches, ranked by accuracy:
    (An asterisk before a celebrity's name signifies that she has "retired" from the show and her H/H stats are now complete.)
    (For tied scores, I consider the one with the greater number of matches to be higher; if the matches are equal, the celeb who first achieved that score goes on top.)
    Orson Bean - 100% (4 wins in 4 attempts).
    TIE: (*)Jo Anne Worley - 75% (3 wins in 4 attempts).
    TIE: Joyce Bulifant - 75% (3 wins in 4 attempts).
    Gary Burghoff - 71.4% (5 wins in 7 attempts).
    Betty - 50.0% (19 wins in 38 attempts).
    Charles - 48.6% (34 wins in 70 attempts).
    Fannie - 48.4% (15 wins in 31 attempts).
    Jo Ann Pflug - 44.4% (8 wins in 18 attempts).
    Richard - 42.4% (320 wins in 755 attempts).
    Brett - 42.3% (30 wins in 71 attempts).
    Bert Convy - 33.3% (5 wins in 15 attempts).
    *These stats include every head-to-head match from episode 1 through 1119, excluding the missing/damaged/unavailable episodes: 31, 32, 33, 311, 312, 313, 324, 325, 645, 910, 1024, 1025, 1026, 1027, 1028, 1029, and 1030. *Also, note that episode 849 was never produced. (These stats do, however, include the H/H results of missing episode 968 as those results were revealed in episode 969. Note: There was no H/H in missing episode 1035, as we learn in 1036.)
