The Hobie Lynx is a fantastic fishing kayak, but you need to look after it. In this video I will show you some simple modifications I have made to the Lynx in order to protect it from scrapes and scratches. After over a year of extended use, I determined exactly where the pressure points were on the hull, and protected them using a couple of different methods.
KeelEazy by Reed Chillcheater (also similar product outside Europe called KeelGuard)
BerleyPro BumperBro for Hobie Lynx purchased from OnTopAngling
MarineGoop used to stick the BumperBro to the Hobie Mirage Lynx Hull

Thanks, that was helpful and I think a good idea.
Thanks Bill, I've been using the Hobie Lynx for 2 years now, and the hull protection measures I implemented, have definitely made a big difference
Defo I need those 👌🎣 thanks for sharing mate 👍💯
What size keel tape did you use, never mind. I see you did say the 2 inch width and 6m to do the whole boat I’m guessing . Your lynx looks great! Nice job
@steelcurtaintd thanks, yes 6m of 2 inch keeleazy
Just checked my Lynx which is almost a year old. I seem to need the same Keeleasy protection spots that you are protecting. Would you share the width you used and the length of each of the pieces?
How has the Keeleasy held up?
It has performed really well. I am in the process of applying the same keeleazy to another boat at the moment. I kind of assumed that the adhesive would give, and it would start to peel off, but it has stayed on perfectly
We're did you buy it
Hi @pine cone - I bought it from Shore Thing (Hobie Center), based at Poole, Dorset. Great place, and excellent after sales support too. You can also try before you buy (they are right on the water)
