I was just on the website and they have a Collab Fight like a girl bundle (which consist of 4 little amigurumis) for........you ready for this??? $140 Is that ridiculous or what?? and that was on sale. I got this today for $5 exactly! I think maybe it makes it more worth it, but I wish they uploaded their own follow along tutorial, since kits tend to be for beginners.... Luckily your video is a great replacement :) Agree with your review.!
Not sure Chrystal if you were referring to me posting you about these kits, but OMG, the yarn! Was so bummed as it seemed like a fun project. Agree totally about the hook, haven’t used the needle yet, because I dislike joining - so I finished the head and decided to continue with the body without making it separately and joining. Oh, should say I got the bird. Head is done and currently reversing the pattern rows so it’s a continuation from the head. So when the pattern decreases, I’m increasing, gotta keep focused as I’m not following the pattern. SO. Yarn is horrid, hook is fine, no problems. Haven’t finished but I intend to - determined to finish. Just need uninterrupted time to figure out reversing the body section. Got sidetracked in creating a crochet pumpkin. Crystal, that butterfly just flew by and got sidetracked. LOL. Loved your review and totally agree with everything you said.
Hi Crystal, glad to see you smiling and doing what you love to do 😊 I am not a fan of amigurumi kits. The yarn isn't really that great. Some do have really cute patterns though. I don't think I would buy this set unless it was severely discounted. However, I love that you made it! I did think this was a cute looking pattern when I saw it posted. Idk, that neck collar thing looked funny to me at first, but when you mentioned it almost ran out of yarn I imagined that collar was like a ruffle collar and it could be any color? That way you could reserve some of that yarn if you are a loose crocheter. I was thinking like a.circus bear or something. Very cute! Also, agree that is NOT a size 1!

I am currently crocheting the bear. You are so right about the yarn, terrible. Walmart has some of the amigurumi's for $5. The bear, frog and bird I think. The Llama is $9.98 and so is the giraffe. You have to check each price. I went to look at different Walmart's. I was running out if yarn so I altered the rows for the body down from 42 to 36. The head is way to large fir the body. I only have one arm done so far and I don't think I will have enough for the ruffle on the neck. I will just use my own for that. Thank you so much for your review! In my opinion, $5 should be a reasonable price for the kits. Joanne's has some for $14.98.

And I wish they would include scissors with these kits, it would make sense to include them. I've never bought one of these kits. My mouth dropped when you said a Wobbles kit costs $30!!!!

I' ve been making amigurumis for over 13 years now, learnibg by myself with free patterns on websites, and sfter with youtube videos. For me, kits are ALL too expensive and/or not intended for people like me I think the ONLY time I would buy one wouldbe if I'mnotiome, or traveling, forgot my yarn+ hooks et , and would need to coochet!!!😁 Maybe for gift to a beginner or somebody who wants so learn. But lets be honest: if its not an easy and cute pattern, with everything you need ( including sizzors) , with at least worsted weight yarn, decent hook, needle, polyfill...and some kind of extra help ( lots of illustration and video) a starter is gonna get discouraged and never crochet again ! You did an excellent job reviewing. Maybe a kit made by a crocheter/ designer would have a better score in review. The only one I can think who sell some ( right away, cuz they must be a few doing this) is the young girl from Pieces of scaps youtube channel. She mentionned that she is making amigurumis crochet kits to srll in her videos! Go watch her review of other people' s patterns she is really professional!🤗

It sounds like they should either remove them from shelf hopefully that's what happened or put not a toy. Clearly it's not safe for a child to put in their mouth which they will. I crochet loose so I definitely would run out of yarn. I always need to drop 2 hook sizes for gage. So that kit would not work for me. Great job on the review very thorough.
That means you do one single crochet into the first stitch, then in the next stitch you do two single crochets into the stitch (it is called an increase because you are increasing the number of stitches in the round, so increase means 2 single crochets into one stitch) You typically repeat that pattern until the end of the row. It is not for absolute beginners. ☹️

They have tutorial for them if you need help and really want to make it. I don’t know how good the tutorial is but worth a try.
