Heart-wrenching. Rachel is a fascinating character to me. To feel broken, both physically and mentally. Emily Blunt nailed the self-destructive behavior of her character. Hard to watch, yet hard to look away. A real train-wreck, who somehow manages to find peace in the twisted carnage of her own path.
What makes me attached to Rachel is that she is intense. But I got attached, I don't know why, else to Anna, her desire to preserve her good image of life with Tom despite her infidelity and immorality. Still, she is a good mother, before a broker without much money. Extroverted. But even married and with a daughter, she is an insecure woman and cares for the harmony that she believes to be fundamental. most come back. I dreamed of that day. Well, not exactly like that, of course. But I wished she disappeared, yes. I dreamed of a life without Rachel, and now I could have one. We would just the three of us: Tom. Evie and me, as it should be. For a moment, I allowed myself to enjoy this fantasy, but then I looked at my sleeping daughter and understood that it was just that. A costume. I kissed my finger. and I touched him on her perfect little mouth and understood that we would never be safe. I would never be safe, because I know you, and Tom will not be ca. Tom doesn't will be able to trust me. And who guarantees that another Megan will not appear? Or, worse, another Anna, another like me?
Although it's true that Rachel is afraid of herself because of her self-destructive behavior, her ultimate goal in meeting with Dr. Abdic is to regain her memories of what happened on the night of the murder so that she can figure out who was responsible for Megan's disappearance and death. If she had told Dr. Abdic this; if she had told him that Megan and Scott were the supposedly perfect couple she had been watching from the train; and if she had told Dr. Abdic that she had seen him kissing Megan before Megan's disappearance, do you think it would have infuriated Dr. Abdic?
It's hard to describe, but Blunt does it so well - it's because his asking revealed the evil in someone (Rachel) who's addicted to something that's controlling her life, almost in a possessed nature. I've seen that happen before and it really is evil that makes itself known, because it is brought to light, so to speak...
In case someone wondering why she is smiling when hi asks if she has been drinking is NOT because of any kind of happiness.. its shame. Its the answer " Yes " and tons of quilt. Emily makes us feel that. Love her❤❤
Why hasn't Emily Blunt ever been nominated for an Oscar? She did a superb job in this film.
Sisyphus27 Totally true! ❤️
Why do you ask so many damn questions on every video
Sisyphus27 I’m waiting for the moment that she does receive one ☝🏾
She was nominated because of this movie actually, but the awards went to emma stone
I Know Right I Totally Agree With You My Friend Emily Blunt Such An Amazing Actress
It's hard to believe that this woman had a stuttering issue like myself. She is truly an inspiration and a fabulous actress.
I have a stutter too. Watching Emily gives me hope to become an actress of this calibre.

There is nothing ''fascinating'' about being ''broken'', trust me.
@@yevgeniyaleshchenko849 tell that to Hollywood and the millions of movies based on broken people. 🤍 happy healing.
Emily Blunt's acting here is epic.

If she implicated him, it would easily endanger her life....
Why does Rachel simply smile when Dr. Abdic asks whether she's been drinking today?
because she has a plan

Frank Frank yes Emily is very goood at those little nuances and details she’s so good with the smallest details
obviously, she is deeply aware of her melancholy...

Why does he sound so intimidating and cold, eh???
The station at Ardsley-on-Hudson was not yet built when I would take the train past Anna's house - looks just like it did back then...

IM AFRAID OF THE EYE OF SAURON BEARING DOWN UPON MY SOUL
Why is he (a therapist) being so stern and I would say even judgmental/condescending with her?
I was wondering the same thing. She's probably paying for this session too, only to feel embarrassed.
All wear out. Including love.
Wow! 😭
