    #1. Please don't do any other treatments (ie dermaplaning, microderm, rolling...) prior to a tca peel. Always do just a single swipe across the area you are applying this peel to. Don't go back over and over at that point. One swipe and move onto the next area. You will ALWAYS wait 5 minutes in between each layer. Apply a single swipe over your entire area to treat ..... wait 5 minutes and then decide if you want to apply a 2nd layer once the peel has coagulated the skin's proteins. *You may only do a single layer in your peel. That is Perfect. There is no need to add more layers if you aren't ready for more flaking than a single layer is giving you. :)

    BRAVE SOUL to do 4 layers of 20% TCA at once! I do my TCA one layer at a time, waiting 3-5 minutes in between each layer and use the hairdryer in between. That allows me to recover from the pain a bit and to see if I have frosting. I love TCA, LOVE IT, but it cannot be neutralized. TCA will stop on its own once it has completed its protein interaction with each layer (takes about 4-8 minutes). This also means that the more TCA liquid you put on the skin the more proteins in the skin it has to interact with. So if you wet your gauze a little more there is more acid and it tends to burn more. Could be why you felt more pain this time, perhaps you used a little more acid and your peel might have gone a little deeper. A few minutes after your final layer, you can splash cold water on your face until the burning stops, works great!

      I usually just do 1 layer of 30% it’s on about 2 mins before I see splotches of face frosts and then I take it off. I have thick tough skin the the highest strength of retin a doesn’t phase me. I would only suggest this for similar skin types or seasoned peelers. But I’d rather have more intense pain for less time I think. I’m not sure if the 30 is more painful or not. I assume it would be . I know when see dra do it they wait till the skin is like opaque white everywhere. I haven’t been able to get such an even frost. I think when things start frosting I start to panic. I imagine I will get better and perhaps less fearful. But you do have to be careful this isn’t a joke. But man imagine paying 1,000 in office for this ?

  • @lilmissunshine83
    @lilmissunshine83 10 месяцев назад +9

    Friendly warning: You should only apply one layer of TCA wait 3-5 minutes and possibly apply a second layer. You don’t want to swipe multiple times over an area that builds up the acid and penetrates deep into the skin.

    Though not as risky as phenol- you can get an arythmia or go into shock as a reaction to pain. I’m going to do this but one area at a time.. people can have strokes from peels/tattoos/sunburn bc the body goes into fight or flight and can start pumping adrenaline. My friend had intense microneedling done and ended up in the ER bc of her heart. She was ok but they told her the reaction to pain on the face which is sensitive and it was such a large area including her neck she could have had a stroke

    FRIENDS! Do not do this method at home! As an esthetician I can honestly warn you that this could cause severe damage to someone doing a first time peel or on darker skin tones. The application had way too many passes and way too much pressure. Application should be light pressure without overlapping - single swipe. Then wait 5 minutes to look for frosting. If no frosting, you may proceed with a second layer. Doing a tca in the manner shown could seriously burn someone and cause scarring. I appear as a fitz 3 but I have Native heritage so my skin reacts more like a fitz 4 or 5. 15% tca burned my skin after one layer and I had PIH for months because the provider didn't apply it properly and was overlaying passes. I only burned on the overlaying part and had weird stripe burns after it blistered for several days. Please go watch the Platinum Skin Care tutorials before attempting any chemical peel on yourself.

    @ambermoon1401 11 месяцев назад +2

    You don't need to do a neutralizer for tca, it doesn't work! Tca stops working on its own, that's why you're supposed to do it in layers if you want a deeper peel. Instead of going up in strength , if you want a deeper peel, before trying a higher strength, try doing 2 or 3 layers but definitely start out with 2 layers and then next time you can do 3 if you wish. You would just add another layer after 5 minutes of the first, you don't rinse or anything, just add the second layer on top of the first.
    This is also a warning that if you apply tca and it starts burning or something, you can't just rinse or add neutralizer , once it's on its on until it stops working

    TCA 30%
    is NOT recommended at all on the face…only the body…no one should really be doing that high percentage…always dilute…I been peeling 3 years and I STILL dilute the 30% to a 12% because
    #1 i think it hurts so bad (even a 15% hurts me so bad)
    and #2 I’m too nervous to screw up and scar myself badly somehow even though I know what I’m doing…
    And yea as they said do not keep going over the same spot multiple times like you did that might’ve made it hurt worse and faster too…I don’t know how you even did that OUCH…I use my air conditioner super cold a blow dryer is so not cold enough for me 😂

      She's done them before and her skin she said is tougher so if her skin does okay with 5-6 passes then it's okay. Everyone's different and you have to start with one pass then wait about 4-5 minutes and repeat if necessary. Wait in between passes is best. I've done it both ways and it works the same for me with same results at the end but that's just my skin. 😊

    Q: why do you need the peel neutralizer?

      otherwise it will keep burning the skin. I'm not sure if rinsing with water or face wash would stop it as quick

      with TCA you don't need a neutralizer or face rinse, the peel is self-neutralizing.

      @@J.E.C. True but when it's burning bad and you want it to stop BEFORE it neutralizes itself you can use it to hurry up the process and it works great!

    I haven't done a peel, I'm just learning...but you aren't supposed to keep going over and over the same spot!!!! And you are supposed to wait 5 minutes between layers aren't you? This is not good. No one should do a peel based on this video please.
