This is fairly solid explanation of Prince Andrews "I don't sweat" debacle. I would describe it more as the consequences of extreme privilege. Andrew has been surrounded by yes men his entire life. People who would agree with his every word, tell him how amazing he is, how much better, and more intelligent than the unwashed masses he is. An he believes it. He believed it so much so that it genuinely never occurred to the fool to think that the simple "plebs" would be able to see right through his bullsh*t in a heartbeat. In his mind, that interview was a masterful strategy whereby he would easily pull the wool over the eyes of his barely cognisant subjects.

Totally agree with you, Eddie could have been describing Prince Andrew. I think Andrew's downfall was his grossly inflated view of himself and his failure to understand that most people aren't as stupid or as servile as the people that have surrounded him all his life. I wonder if he has changed his attitude, even slightly, since he was "retired". I suspect not, as he seems to have no insight. Probably thinks he's been badly treated by everyone, that we've all been very unfair to him. Perhaps he'll find some comfort in his teddy collection.

The man described some things I experienced as a kid. I wasn't a compulsive liar by any stretch, but I do remember having difficulty perceiving others in my life as real independently conscious people. It was kind of like I was a character in a movie where everyone except myself were just like props that almost mechanically interacted with me. As if like this man stated they were '2D' and I was '3D'.
Edit: Great video. Might have to look this fella up because he's got my attention.

Another issue is that politics (and democracy in general) rewards people who are convincing liars. In fact sometimes you don't even need to be all that convincing. Depending on which electoral system is being used, you maybe only have to convince 30%-40% of people.
This is why electoral politics attracts so many narcissists and psychopaths in the first place because that type of person can very quickly rise to the top

Love Eddie Marsan. A first class actor and clearly a good and interesting bloke to boot. Top quality chat in the pub for sure. He was aces in 'Ray Donovan' and if you haven't seen him playing in the rarely seen and under-rated 'Pierrepoint' with Timothy Spall, then do give it a whirl. You'll be glad you did.
P.S. He wasn't strictly talking about the elites here mind. He was talking about any self-absorbed and selfish young bloke. There's a lot of 'em about in case you hadn't noticed and to think they are restricted to the 'elites'? Na. That's really just self-serving and simply the green eyed monster coming to the fore.... ;)
