@calorus Oh I agree with you, however, the effort is invisible. Destroying speed cameras and ulez infrastructure does not help, it raises cost to every other human being as these are amortised in the taxes we pay. Shouting on the Internet also isn't helpful. My point was that a Polish plumber may disagree about the commonalities. Polish plumbers are tired of crime, chaos, dirt, selfishness and entitlement of the working class. The fact that people willingly class themselves and separate is yet another testament of the inability to induce change. Just adapt the most convenient model.

But if you ask the average young person whether they’d like a decent job that will get them on the ladder to what they want in life or whether they want to be a petty criminal who’ll spend some time in jail and who will ultimately drastically limit their life choices and earning potential, the vast majority - over 99% - will choose the job or the apprenticeship. The other 1% don’t say they want to vandalise bus stops but tend to be of limited intelligence and to have been seduced by the Peaky Blinders/organised crime chic.

Whether you believe your problems are caused by a man in a tracksuit, or a man wearing a suit and tie, or for that matter a man holding a gun is of no matter. As long as you believe your problems are caused by someone or something outside yourself there will never be an end to your problems - it is only when you take responsibility for yourself and your life and your station in life that you will have the power to change your life!

I mean, there is personal responsibility but then there comes a time when the problem is unavoidable. Currently, the wealth disparity and Corporate welfare is hurting the middle and lower classes.
This is going to be an extreme example but, go tell Anne Frank that life is 10% What Happens to You and 90% How You React.
It’s a ridiculous theory when the system is rigged to benefit the rich and powerful. No one is asking for anything other than an equal level playing field.

I get this in my line of work everyday. Working class people fighting against each other. My dad loved Margaret Thatcher, but didn’t have a pot to piss in when he died. It was always someone else’s fault for his miserable life and fighting to stay above water.

I know how I'll be attacked for this comment, but I hate how he tries lump bankers and vulture funds with "the professional class" without distinguishing. The irony of him explaining how these groups "divide people", only for him to use wording that blatantly implies doctors and programmers and scientists are the same as tax-dodging billionaires and hedge funds. The old "hey, you middle-class 'professional', working in both physically and mentally very difficult jobs that take years to decades of specialist training to do, you should accept the same income as the guy who works at the cash register or drives a bus, otherwise you are the same as bankers wanting to kick honest working class people out of their homes". And if the defense is "he doesn't mean THOSE professionals"; he clearly uses words like the people at "bottom of the ladder" and "the bus driver, the guy in labour" and "the working class" explicitly to define the "good" people. Most rich people are corrupt, but "bad" or greedy or selfish people are in all strata of society. One banker being corrupt can be very destructive, but hundreds or thousands of "laborers" also refusing to file and pay proper taxation can also do it's damage, and you don't fix things with this sweeping implication of "only the working class are honest" and "condemn ALL who make anything over the working class income or have a 'professional' job" (and this is what he is clearly implying here, please don't insult by claiming otherwise).

@@sparkle6093 I would agree IF he wasn't using very specific words. Him using "the professional classes" is not a mistake, I have met people who argue like this, who see even a local who works as a mechanic or pilot as a snob and a traitor for simply being okay at having a higher income, and are in league with these billionaires and support repression of labourers and working-class. He then goes on to specifically calls out the "guy in labour" and working classes and defines them in ways that very much don't include middle-class people, from "bottom of the ladder" to naming specific jobs. Had his line been "hedge-funds and multi-nationals try and convince people to turn on each other rather than see the real issue" I'd be in 100% agreement, but he's not accidentally using those words. It is very common populist-leftist sort of purity-test of "poor = noble soul, working class = honest, middle-class = dodgy, upper-class = evil"
