Thanks. I have this video and many more too: What is KOReader for ebook readers? -Why I prefer using it on all my e-readers ruclips.net/video/HBKD7dh1rDU/видео.html
Stefan, your channel features the most in-depth info on KOreader and jail breaking kindle. Thank you for creating this valuable resource. I’m considering moving forward with your recommendations on my 2024 kindle basic. I look forward to your next videos. Best regards!
hi Stefan, just want to say thanks for helping me with jailbreaking and installing KoReader on my Paperwhite 5! I’m now exploring KoReader and customizing it to my needs. I hope you keep making guides because yours were so easy to follow.
My home page shows the folders of the author names instead of the actual books for some reason. How can I make it show the boosk instead? (For context, I have used Calibre to send my books to my Kobo Clara BW)
@ishak_arif you can use KoReader file manager to move books, create folders, delete folders and more. Plato is just a menu ui element that makes it a simpler experience than KoReader to read books in.
@ishak_arif i did a video about that: I recommend stop using the original software on your Kindle or Kobo after installing KOReader ruclips.net/video/Lt80MrSqIJA/видео.html
Because their is no stable version released yet. So if you want to update KOReader you have to use the developer channel. Soon a stable release will be released though and then you can get a proper stable version for winter break jailbreaked kindles. But if you don’t have any problems or doesn’t want eventual new features, you don’t have to update KOReader. You can stay on the version you are on.
And it’s not kindle developer mode it’s the KOReader developer channel. So called nightly builds. You should never again update your kindle because then the jailbreak won’t work.
Thank you for the information on KOReader. That was great help. Can you do a KOReader installation on Kobo Device, I used the method provided in your previous videos, on Kobo Nia, but with no success, just the bomb sign. If there is an updated method of doing it, please assist. Thank you
If you mean ebook reader then I have a lot of best of videos on my channel. Check them out. But if you are not reading in English then I always recommend kobo.
No but you can turn of page turns with taps and only have swipes. Or turn of swipes and only have taps. Try that. Or set the tap zones where you want them
Try change update server. And to development if you are on a kindle. And KOReader doesn’t update automatically. Only manually. So you have to do like I show in the video. Development updates everyday
@@svartling That is what I do: I choose the server that works, I select development, and when I click on "Check for updates" I get a message saying "Do you want to update?" It then shows the installed version and the available version. I click on "Update" if an update is available. Then a message appears saying "Downloading may take several minutes..." and then finally I get a message "Failed to update KOReader. You can Cancel, Retry, or Abort". This is what happens to me when I try to update over the Wi-Fi. When I try to do an offline update by dragging the koreader update into the root of the kindle, and updating from KUAL menu, I get no feedback, but the update seems to work silently. I don't know why I am getting this "Failed to update KOReader" message. It happens with any of the servers I choose.
If you've just installed KOReader and don't know what to do... you presumably don't have books installed. So before everything explained here, you need an explanation of getting books into KOReader. Or so it seems to me (someone who's just installed KOReader and doesn't know what to do).
Finally a vídeo explaining how to use KOReader!
Thanks. I have this video and many more too:

When transferring with cable via Calibre you get it like that. If you transfer wirelessly you don’t.
@@svartling I see, thanks! One more question. What's the difference between KOReader and Plato?
@ishak_arif you can use KoReader file manager to move books, create folders, delete folders and more. Plato is just a menu ui element that makes it a simpler experience than KoReader to read books in.
@@svartling Would you recommend having both? Or would you recommend me to stick to only KOReader?
@ishak_arif i did a video about that:

Informative video. 👍 Does KOReader drain battery more than usual?
Not on my Kindles but on my kobos
Hi, nice video, I have a question, why do you have to update koreader in the Kindle developer mode? Greetings

thank you so much

Hi, I want to buy an ebook, which one would you recommend for me the best of all ebook.
If you mean ebook reader then I have a lot of best of videos on my channel. Check them out. But if you are not reading in English then I always recommend kobo.
Sir, is there a page lock option to prevent accidental touches while reading line by line with a finger in KO Reader- Kindle?
No but you can turn of page turns with taps and only have swipes. Or turn of swipes and only have taps. Try that. Or set the tap zones where you want them
Hi Stefan, any way to set a password or passcode like on the original Kobo software? Thanks!
No not what I know of
😮 How do you get feeback on the KOReader update for the Kindle? Mine gives no feedback (but I think it updates anyway, invisibly)
Try change update server. And to development if you are on a kindle. And KOReader doesn’t update automatically. Only manually. So you have to do like I show in the video. Development updates everyday

Does it use more battery than normal kindle?
No not on kindle. On kobo it does
Bonjour, est-il possible d'installer koreader sur SONY PRS-T1 ? D'avance merci.
I don’t think so but check KOReader GitHub page which devices that are supported
