    Need to add shims between hinge and bonnet which will lower the bonnet. As the hinges are in a slot, the shim will lower the front of the bonnet and allow the bonnet to open without hitting in the middle front, also the gaps will then be able to be made smaller😊

    • @barrybloggs9474
      @barrybloggs9474 Год назад

      No, needs to loosen the hinge bolts on the body and lower the hinge, possibly even tip the hinge forward on the body.

      @@barrybloggs9474 With cars that have the pocket style of hinges, by adding a shim it effectively lowers the bonnet. Shims were actually fitted as part of the manufacturing process on doors bonnets etc. the hinges where mounted to the car adjusts the height to raise the bonnet, whilst the shims lower the bonnet.

    Hi Chad, Jolene, & Doug, that hood is a bit of a struggle it almost seems like the right side of the hood is pivoting up on something. Could it be hitting something on the fender part way up where it pivots up in the back and when you push the back down the front pivots up. As far as paint I am with Jolene on this one it just screams flake to me. What about a compromise with black metallic? Otherwise, I don't know why but it seems to call for a brighter color to me if not black. A medium blue, or a forest green, and of course there is always candy red. GM has used black metallic and I really like it although, a little bigger flake than they used would be nice. I made one of those mistakes that all us humans tend to make, I did it big though and it is costly. I thought the 89 Camaro only had one seat type and 2 trim levels and I ordered deluxe seat covers for $600 and put the back covers on and went to do the front and the deluxe trim is a different seat and I have base seats. So do not feel alone on the rare mistake you may make because when I do it they are big! Jolene, great job on the video as always and I will be back tomorrow as always!

      I am sincerely happy for you.
      Although I don't know what being American has to do with anything.
      This old man IS an American, and if it was not for the TV show, I would have never known who he was.
      The point is this...
      Some of those "armchair fabricators" likely know as much as Chad.
      So not everyone should just be dismissed out of hand, simply because they aren't familiar or famous to you or me.
      Thank you for your time.
      Have a good one!

    Love this build. I do hate hanging doors and hoods.

    loosen the hood hinge bolts and get down inside the engine bay and have the other close the hood and tighten the bolts when its lined up..

    Have you looked at cutting the tabs behind the back seat that use to hold it in, might let the back go in further and the top trim would be more in line where it was before on top of the seat.

    Buen trabajo, esta quedando de show, lo que quiero es verlo pintado. Pienso que se vería de maravilla. Mejor que cuando nuevo.

    The package tray part installs first …then back rest and finally the seat .. the way it was done from factory … this way you don’t drive your self nuts … looking great
