I have fond memories of MDW, as I worked there in the late 1960s for TW. Not many flights back then, but several airlines [NW, TW, DL, AA, NE, UA]. Fred Harvey offered limited meal and bar service for airline staff and passengers.

seeing Allegiant and Frontier expand at MDW in recent years has been odd...just weird to hear new callsigns somewhat frequently in the mix. I've also heard rumors Delta might bring A320s to MDW regularly soon too...

Runway 4R/22L is actually shorter than Runway 31C, so don’t know how that would help those pilots who claimed to be too heavy for takeoff.

Hard to tell from that camera angle but it looked like the leading edge slats went to full extend, which would indicate a flaps 25 T/O. SWA's PWB system tends to drive flaps 25 on shorter runways for the increased stopping margin in the event of a reject, assuming no restrictive climb gradients.
