viggo mortensen could sit on a chair and stare in the camera for two hours. It would still be considered as one of the most underrated movies of all time.
one of the most criminally underrated movies of all time
I agree. I sometimes wish there was a sequel and it certainly does deserve one
@@stefantomasi4036 I’ve always wanted to know more about Joey....😁
@@evanabbott2737 lol
I see what you did there
True statement here.
This is one of my favorite films of all time.
A perfect film. It's sad that intelligent adult movies are so rare now. Studios should be begging Cronenberg to work for them.
Lol
I would argue that they aren't rarer now, just lesser known, and made by smaller studios.
what made movies so great before all the special effect, was the story and the story telling from a director, its very rare you find movies like this today
Yes, this was a very arresting film. It and Eastern Promises, also by David Cronenberg with Viggo as the lead character, are violent but great films.
This great film got lots of love when it arrived in theatres, yet somehow it's still massively underrated! The acting was phenomenal! Maria Bello with her finest performance!
This movie is a classic, and Viggo is on fire in this👌👌👌👌👌
Qash Shah I also liked Maria Bello
I had NO idea that this was filmed VERY close to where I live. I like it even more now! My two brothers live about 15 minutes outside of the town of Millbrook which is the main setting and I work just down the road from where the Mansion is in King City, Ontario. Amazing movie no matter where it was filmed but pretty cool knowing it was filmed in my area. Viggo Mortenson is in my top 5 actors of all time. Underrated artist for sure.
That’s cool and awesome that you work in King City. I’m from York Region as well.
A History of Violence and Secret Window were my favorite movies around this time. Great movie 👍👍
Great film, simple and focused with great performances.
If you're a fan of A History of Violence check out my analysis of it which digs into the hidden depths of the film concerning the violence and the human condition. As Will Self says "Is violence innate within us?" its the essential question the film is asking the viewer. Additionally the themes of identity (and I think I accidently used Maria Bello's phrasing exactly at the end of this video) are dug into in, I hope, an entertaining and interesting way.
Great video .
maria bello is so hot in this movie. i'm a viggo fan yes but Ed Harris is the man! every movie he's in he kills it.
👍👍
This great movie needs a 4K Release.
This trash movie shouldn't
@@salarzx62090 😂😂😂😂
Richie and Joey are very Philadelphia. Nice
very insightful video, i need more of these.
Best behind the scenes featurette
you can make subtitles available in the videos
22:48 Your move, Rust.
Great violet drama movie I remember seeing this when I was a kid.
I just noticed the night owl shirt. Is that a reference to the movie LA confidential?
Interesting thing about this movie, Cronenberg rewrote Olsen’s script - 120 to 72 pages. Because he and Virgo thought the violence was too over the top and wasn’t necessary. Olsen ended up writing a “letter” about how he won’t read your script because he wasn’t thanked for the work he’s done before and he was bitter that Cronenberg changed a lot of his script.
Maria Bello says “David’s script are very lean…” meaning his draft was the only one she ever read.
Despite the changes, it still got Olsen an Oscar nomination. It's too bad his Jack Reacher and Halo film scripts never came to fruition.
Can’t wait for Leo thalapathy
Me
this film has inspired 3 filmmakers in india to copy or imitate it.
The son could have played Mark Zuckerberg.
Folarin Osibodu Also, the daughter could have been played by a well known young childhood actress

Bruh, only in 360p?? What's up Warner Bros??!!
We sleep soundly in our beds because rough men stand ready in the night to visit violence on those who would do us harm..... Sometimes violence is necessary....distasteful, but necessary.
I actually knew a cuban from Miami Beach that still lives this type of life!!
12:30 CASLA
Is that really the rosebud hotel??
Ha the director is the Star Trek Discovery historian guy
Rosebud Motel
Dude is it really the hotel?
Viggo deplores violence. But violence in defense of innocents who are being assaulted is not only justified, it deserves to be celebrated. If you were the victim of criminal violence, who would you prefer be in close proximity; a brave individual willing to risk their life on your behalf, or a pacifist coward who looks the other way?
