What a joy to hear a scottish accent amongst all the sewing vloggers I currently follow. Gaun yersel Lauren! :) The coat is pure dead brilliant and absolutely gorgeous on you. I'm inspired! Thank you for a wonderful video, will be watching from now on. shirley
Thank you so much for all your tips sewing this coat pattern. I've been looking for such a pattern. I've never sewn coat before and this sounds like a wonderful pattern to start with.
Your coat is gorgeous Lauren! Well done on getting it made when you've got a little one too!! Really like the fabric and colour. I liked your other coat that you made too. Keep the vlogs coming 😊 x
Lovely coat! 😊 I would love to sew it, but I don't think my old sewing machine woul'd cope that much fabric at once 😣 While I'm about to upgrade to a much stronger machine, what machine and model did you use? By the way, Thanks to a very inspirational RUclips chanel! /Jeanette
Hi Nicola, I used a sleeve roll so I wasn't pressing on a flat surface and I put a scrap of the wool on top like a pressing cloth and used lots of steam and a clapper. It is hard though and I did still get it happening a bit but it usually fades over time
Hi Lauren, I know this is quite an old video but I’d love to know what interfacing you used for your beautiful coat. I visited your gorgeous shop yesterday, the ladies were sooo helpful. I’ll definitely be back!! x
Hi Tracey, I used a black woven iron on interfacing. We don't actually have the same one in the shop anymore as it was an ex designer one that I got a limited stock of from a supplier but it is something that you will be able to find elsewhere for sure. Thanks for visiting the shop :) x
If you are using a similar type/weight of fabric as me then I would say a medium weight one. Sorry to be vague, its really hard to describe these things. :)
If u’ve seen the new 2018 Mango wool coats, they have no lining, yet there is no raw edging if ,say, u flipped the collar. How is that done? Coats look like a bathrobe .
some fabrics don't fray so they just cut the fabric and leave the edge raw...its just doesn't look at raw if its a non fraying fabric. Sometime I've seen exposed raw edges on the inside finished with bias binding too, so thats another alternative if the fabric does fray
Hi Lauren ....please have a link to how you did your button holes please. How did you iron the seams without showing the ridge marks on the right side?

Lauren Guthrie Thanks for the reply, one more question, what sort of weight of interfacing should I look for to get the same kind of result as you? x
