one of the most refreshing things i've ever seen come out of a jiu jitsu gym. most instructors won't do this in the privacy of their own place, much less put in online. i've absolutely LOVED the content but this is next level!

the thing is a lot of us see our coaches and professors as super human and don't imagine them in bad positions because of how good they are. It's so refreshing to see something like this, seeing decent level black belts are human too and can be submitted by someone of a signifcantly lower rank. Of course fatigue and size played a massive factor none the less it took great humility to post this content.

When the brown belt Matt Elkins tapped him and said "didn't make me feel good" Brandon instantly said, "it made me feel good"
I don't know specifically why was he happy about, I would think that he is happy because he taught him well, and he is proud or whatever his reason is, it was evident by how fast he repied! That was absolutely amazing to watch.
The perspective of the student that taps his coach/sensei/master and is not proud to do so, shows his good heart, shows that he is not egotistical, and the complete opposite of his instructor. Amazing !

Brandon really wasn't trying against any of these guys. Brandon is an exceptional black belt and could've tapped basically everybody he rolled with at least 5 times each, he just wanted to a) conserve his energy. B) be humble and make his team look good and c) provide a dramatic video that would make you wonder if he gets tapped or not.

Obviously this instructor is doing an excellent job passing along what he knows to his students, seeing as how a few actually managed to tap him. Granted, the taps came post cramp and towards the end of the challenge, but nonetheless
Great stuff, really enjoyed watching 👍

That was amazing to watch and learn from! Love seeing humble coaches and leaders. The bjj game has become so much about ego and pride in some areas and channels and for me that’s not at all what it’s about. I feel like healthy competition is a hard balance to have without having a huge ego. Thanks for bringing balance and light to bjj.

    Great video!
I am exhausted after 8-10 rounds at open mat.

Yeah once I get my guard passed, I’ll often funnel people towards the arm triangle. I have a little escape sequence that’s ultra reliable for me. Gets harder around round 20 though 😂😂

Bravo. Took a lot of mental pacing and strategy to make it 30 rounds. To teach others well enough to challenge you as a teacher, thats what its all about.
