Your hair has nice density and seems healthy. I wash my type 4 hair daily and it is thriving. I congratulate you on your journey and the things you have noticed in yourself. I am trying to wash my hair more often at least 3 x a week . I am nervous . My hair is probably similar length as yours . I heard clean of the scalp frequently helps decrease overgrowth of the normal flora of the scalp . Overgrowth of the flora can cause inflammation and subtle damage to hair bud . So I want to try frequent washing for at least next year

Doesn't your hair break more with the constant manipulation? Why not just wash once a week?

Maybe but most type 4 naturals seem to be oblivious to breakage and just believe their hair doesn't grow. Which it does grow. And it doesn't grow as slow either like people try to claim. If your not seeing your hair getting significantly longer year after years (or months after months honestly) it's breaking off rapidly (unless they're purposely cutting it to keep it short of course). Personally, I think washing every day doesn't necessarily have to mean breakage but that would be based on many things like how well her technique is, how she handles her hair, how she keeps it from overtangling, etc.

I wash my hair every other day and the shedding/breakage reduced drastically and it's not tangled. I don't know why people are so scared to wash their hair more frequently but they should definitely try it.

@@Ms_Introvert_4_LifeIt honestly just depends. I was washing my hair daily and loved it but had to stop for a few reasons, one of them being my ends were in horrible condition when I went for a trim.
