If FPV isn't the answer then you're asking the wrong question! :-D As for the layered composite concept... be aware that this is fraught with problems. Carbon is usually the stiffest material so if you layer it with something more flexible (such as kevlar or glass) then the carbon will take most of the stress (until it fails) leaving the kevlar/glass simply being taken along for the ride. Once the carbon has failed the layup may still be in one piece but it will have lost significant rigidity and be weaker. And send me one of those new Botgrinder frames when they're done. They'll need testing by someone whose freestyle style has been likened to a crane with a steel ball on a chain :-)
Thanks for the input! I definitely agree, we plan on putting polymer cores in compression on the inside of a molded carbon shell. We’re looking for more impact absorption, delay, resistance within the sandwich composite. The same impact energy will be spread out across a longer time reducing the peak impact force. Or at least thats the goal!
@@ITSJAYKARE Yeah, as you already know, it's the outer layers of the composite that carry the load under flexion -- the inner layers simply provide the separation. That's why some of the lightest/stiffest layups use hex-cell or similar foam center with carbon, glass or kevlar skins. The setup you describe should work well -- providing maximum strength without wasting expensive carbon in the center layup where it's not going to be doing much. I look forward to seeing the results.
@@xjet Carbon/weight savings was part of our scoped out benefits as well! Glad our idea passes peer review, I appreciate your words of wisdom. Maybe I can convince Tommy to let me nerd out on the channel when we complete it.
I picked up the OG Remix when they first came out. Built along with your video. Bought 4 spare arms and still have all four! BEAST of a frame! Can't wait to check out the V3!
Can you do a video that goes through all the equipment that you use on a commercial shoot. All the different drones, the different hardware that you use inside your drones, radios, camera equipment, lenses, bodies, etc. Communication devices that you use on set. How you stage equipment while waiting for the green light to fly. Thanks for all the great products and content Tommy.
Just want to thank everyone there at The Ummagawd Crew. Im a supporter, my acrobrat is my favorite lil quad to fly around the backyard. i haven't flown my remix in awhile but it is 100% by far my favorite frame. really want a moongoat, but think im going to have to wait and see what this bot frame looks like. Thanks again! Imu
I mean, ummagawd has *already* done awesome and durable freestyle frames. I was really hoping the community project would result in something new and outlandish.
Love the intro, been in the reefing hobby for a few years now and love it, it's super fun. Bubble tip anemones are what I'm super into, been growing, splitting, and selling them for a year lol
Well, I was really hoping the frame results would end up with something along my idea in the 3" category. I thought 3" is the new 5", but it seems like nothing can outdo a 5" overall, which makes 5" popular. Nothing to complain about, it is a popular vote after all.
Sounds like you guys have a blast at work, and you're right, do more vlogging too, this is awesome. Also the persons that ordered the grip tape must be psyched that their orders was filled "on the air" 😂
I was hoping for something a bit different with the community build but if the world wants another strong freestyle frame then that’s what the world gets.
"Yeah they just wanted some feedback on shooting a Vince staples video"....Now back to the shop and what we got going on 🤣 DUDE!!!! I'm now bowing down to you as I type this lol👍🏽THAT IS FREAKIN AWESOME MAN!!!! I was already blown away by the deadliest catch footage since its one of my favorite shows man you are flying as high as your quads brother keep shining Tommy 👍🏽✌🏽 ps I'm still scared to build the 2fiddy lol I wanted it to be my very first build but I don't wanna f it up lol 🙏🏽✌🏽
Thanks dude! As for the 2fiddy, let us build it for you, and if you break anything we’ll cover labor to fix and you cover the parts and shipping… problem (or concern) solved!
@ummagawd SOLD!!!! lol I'm definitely going to go that route man! I have wanted it since watching you design it step by step and it turned out perfect 👍🏽Thanks and when I order it I have to get you to sign it for me man if you don't mind😁✌🏽
Yes and no. For frame manufacturers, we can die-cut any shape, but only for a large quantity (500+). For smaller orders we have done custom shapes using other methods (laser, drag-knife, etc.), but it's quite a bit of setup, and thus not worth the time and cost. That said, finding a way to efficiently make custom ummagrip has been on our radar for awhile now.
Time for me to make an announcement! super excited about this!
Wow!! Sounds like some crazy positive stuff is happening...so good 😊
Can’t hold back now Doug, gotta let the world know your new frame is in development 😅
One day we shall puff-puff-fly.
Is it April fools day already or is this legit
Oh snap this is gonna be good and I can't wait to test it

But they asked the right person so I had to oblige 😉.
Jadyn, take note of the words of wisdom from Bruce

thanks for the support! OG guy here!
For folks wanting a durable, 5inch, lightweight amazing freestyle frame, just get a Moongoat. It's amazing.
A botgrinder collaboration and a v3 remix!!! That’s great news.
Those results are disappointing, so the community project it’s going to be a 5” freestyle drone…
The Ummagawd team is growing, congrats 👏 😎
Super excited about the v3 Remix!! The v1 was my first FPV frame and I loved how it flew! Can’t wait to see all the new new!! Great job homies!!
I mean, ummagawd has *already* done awesome and durable freestyle frames. I was really hoping the community project would result in something new and outlandish.
We still will, (I just low key hoped it would be this project).
It sounds like we're just asking for the new botgrinder frame that's already in development. ha
Also, to stay in sync, the artist usually sings the playback track sped up.
that's what I meant when I said they need to do playback 25% sped up.
Cool to see you back regularly! Awesome to see you doing good bro!
Love from 🇬🇧
Dude so stoked about the new botgrinder frame.
Hell yeah!! When's Remix v3 coming out?
everyone bug Ryan to make it happen faster
Just seeing someone doing his/her job is a tremendous amount of information. Love your video’s on the job
Thats what im talking about! The channel is pumping! Yay! Good worl bro!
Love the intro, been in the reefing hobby for a few years now and love it, it's super fun. Bubble tip anemones are what I'm super into, been growing, splitting, and selling them for a year lol
Very interesting video, especially the news about working on a new Botgrinder frame. Happy flying everyone.
Need more Botgrinder motors! I'm still rocking a set lol...can't wait for the frame
I'm in the market for a new frame. Now I gotta wait to see what the Remix v3 and the new Bot frame are all about 😍
Also right tool for the job is what makes you be a success!
Is botgrinders frame the 3" he has been talking about? Or is it 5"??
5"
great answer and info. you are solid
ok forget about the community build.. the answer lies in the Remix V3!
Love the innovation and work you’re doing moving the RC hobby forward ✌🏼

Haha, thanks for commenting. Def try to vlog more
I was hoping for something a bit different with the community build but if the world wants another strong freestyle frame then that’s what the world gets.
Don’t worry, there’s def enough interest to do something wacky… we’ll make it happen this year
It is good to hear you guy's are working with Bot.
Bot's awesome
You are so correct my friend
Got grip tape on all my controllers. Never to much grip tape! 👍👍

For shame! FPV is always the answer!
❤️ it
is it any way to get ummagawd battery pad custom cut?

I appreciate the project, but those results so far are kinda milquetoast. We're not a creative bunch.
🤩
👍🏻👍🏻
I'm here for Drake.
And stayed for Jadyn? 😂
Dude. WRONG. FPV is always the answer.
Yes Jayden yes, every one is doing straight freestyle, do something different
Man the voters are boring! Give people a chance to have fun and you get a hard pass, what?
