Synopsis: When Irene - the fattest girl in high school - gets suspended, she must endure two weeks of community service at a retirement home. Finally a 15 year old played by someone who looks like they could realistically be 15 and not a baby-faced 23 year old
Who really cares? If the 23 year old looks 15 to you then thats all that matters. It's acting anyway. They're given lines to say. What's important is that the characters LOOK like teenagers.
This ain't a real life documentary where it would then obviously be important to have a teenager star in a film about a teen.
Actually I do think it’s important to have teens play teens. Having 23 year olds with perfect skin, teeth and hair playing a generation that has spotty skin, braces teeth and oily hair does not exactly inspire self-confidence
Where I work at, there are plenty of teenagers with perfect skin, teeth, and hair. As a teen, I didn't have any acne and my teeth were perfect because I had braces at a young age. Not sure what you're getting at.
You thought this girl was 15 because she looks 15. Would you have suddenly not liked the movie if you found out she was 23? That's ridiculous

By your logic, Young Adult authors can't write books based on teenagers because they're not teens, right? They're adults. Don't you think it's important to have teens writig and PUBLISHING young adult books?
Guess John Green shouldn't be writing books for teens since he's a 40-something year old man. Because of this, his books can't exactly "inspire" teenagers.
Fact is, most teens don't actually care. Just look at the comments section lol.

THIS MOVIE LOOKS MAGICAL.
The concept is stupid. It's not because shes a " freak" but as a cheerleader you should be fit and able to do a lot of acrobatic moves. Being shoved up in the air and stuff. And it's not just about the individual but you should be able to support your other teammates.
Ofc that shouldn't stop her from TRYING to be one. Get fit and work hard for what you want.
