Bought a Military thinking it's too big to carry. Ended up loving the knife. Then bought a Police 4. Loved it, too. Figured that a Native Chief was next in line. Saw a review where a seemingly experienced guy couldn't flick it and got discouraged. Eventually picked up a sprint and loved the Native Chief, as well. It flicks beautifully. Impressive build quality. Carries and cuts in an exemplary manner. I prefer it to the Police 4. Enjoyed the video.

I like the Spyderco Native Chief and the back lock and the size of the knife. I ordered the Sprint run S90V with carbon fiber handle very nice knife ! .This size of knife is perfect for me for many cutting chores and food prep with that length of blade . I wish Spyderco would make the Native Chief in Cruwear and micarta handle and a forest green handle version since I am tired of black .Though I do like the carbon fiber handle.

I bought mine last week (08/13/2022) just because I liked the looks and I thought it would be a good addition to my collection. I like the fact that in spite of it being a backlock, it can be flicked open.

It's a good, informative review. And quality is definitely above the average. Subbed. My s90v Native Chief is on the way. 😎

Last year got my first native chief. It was orange g-10 scales with a DLC CTS-XHP blade. Very smooth action and zero blade wobble. I would have said a lockback is obsolete but dang the action is so smooth and completely ambidextrous. Jumped on the release of the red CPM-4V native chief. Moved the clip and have been carrying it almost every day. Like almost any knife with a 4 inch blade. Socom, Military or AFCK come to mind. The native chief is an equal member of that group.

Definitely one of my favorite from Spyderco! I’m sorry I missed out on the S90V version. That thing is a true EDC knife that will last a lifetime and then some. Great video 👍

Great review. Watched it holding my sprint run native chief and I have to say, this knife is definitely one of my favorite Spyderco knives of the 15+ spidys that I own.

i ordered one finally because i wanted a big knife that is light with solid lock-up for when i'm hiking in the hills. i wanted to get a cold steel but after trying a few i've determined for me the triad lock is overkill and dangerous (for me)

Good review. Thank you. And thank you very much for comparing it to other similar sized spydercos. I don't understand why these youtube knife review guys compare a large knife to a pm3 or something like that. So thanks.
I just received my native chief in rex 45 and burnt orange. Other than being very stiff outnof the box i absolutely love it. Ofcourse i love all my usa made spydercos.
    Great review. Good job

I use my thumb in the "Thumb Hole" to open my Spyderco's. I don't feel the need to be a show off (being a Firefighter is enough for me). ~ LoL

Picked up one yesterday. Needed a good clean and needed the pivot tweaked a little but so far I am impressed. Can't wait for it to break in.

    Great review.
I realy like the native chief but I must to admit that I'm afraid for the fragility of the blade tip.
Do you think that the Rex 45 version will make a real difference for the strength of the tip and in general?
Here, I am talking about more or less important abuses.

I'd be interested in hearing your in-depth thoughts on the native line since they are in your top 5. Also, would be nice to see some rockjumper if you have access to one! Which knives would you say make up the rest of your top 5? Cheers

They are both in the queue to review. I have both the plain edge and serrated RockJumper.

The only con for me is no steel liners . If this came with steel liners and a compression lock I think this knife would be in the top three best Spyderco knives . In spite of that I still bought one . I really like the blade shape .
