Tomorrow I'm going to stream every node/objects/setting in forge. Going to try and time stamp the categories and try to show all the models from "all" angles.
Thank you for sharing this with us. I had just gotten into Forge yesterday and figured out a few things but was overall confused on most of it. the script brain, pointers, and difference between world position and object position were new things for me. good job on the tutorial and hope to see more from you.
I appreciate the raw commentary and how you don't just edit out your mistakes. Will definitely watch your videos to try and get more knowledge on forge now that the customs browser has been added.
OMG, thank you SO MUCH for this! I have been trying to find tutorials that go through simply moving/connecting things, and all of the other "basic" videos I have seen, don't even MENTION it. It is not intuitive, and even though I have made dozens of elaborate maps on MCC, I am completely lost on the Infinite Forge right now. Thanks for helping me get started. Great job!
Of all the various 3d modeling programs I've used I never heard anyone call it that but its exactly correct. Google likes to point to various cad websites so maybe its a more popular term in that field. Good too know the name. the "objects transform" is probably more understandable to people that use 3d apps.
LT= move RT= rotate LT + RT = scale (scale is hard to use, always glitching) YOU NEED TO HOLD DOWN THE TRIGGER(S) TO STAY IN MODE “that should make sense”
Having programming knowledge is nice and makes understanding everything so much easier to understand. This is giving me so much more motivation to try out map making.
Definitely handy for someone to go over this. I love forge in 3 & Reach, I tried to in 5 but I just could grasp it well enough to maximize creativity. I'm hoping for more tutorials (if needed) because I do want to forge in this game more so than I did in 5
In my farming game videos I break down the scripts that made them work. I plan on making more dedicated videos on specific node graph nodes show how to use them.
Definitely going to be a lot to learn for new folks but like anything just takes practice and experience. Looking forward to getting my hands on it later this month and begin getting familiar with their map editor.
Magnets for me seem like they are still buggy. Some times they work and sometimes they don't. Even when turned on. Thanks for the vid. I will check out more!
How does adding/removing objects from lists work? The nodes don't have any flow pins so I don't understand how to trigger the add/remove. I think I'm missing something.
I wish they had a Legacy forge mode so it feels like Halo 4 or Reach. The forge we have feels more like a map editor its not fun like Legacy forge in my opinion
if you select your script brains (you need at least 2 items selected), then hold done the Actions Menu key (Hold E) then you can create a prefab. once they are a prefab you can then save that selected prefab by opening the same menu and hit save prefab. It then should appear in your Object Browser at the very top under "Prefabs". prefabs have been pretty buggy for me. i recommend grouping prefabs after spawning. though the same menu where they are created
On dynamic objects there is a setting for bounds. You can listen for when things enter or leave the area. I would do a video on it but in this build they don't work. So yes there
Right now you can only access forge if you have the halo insider flight for coop campaign. But when it actually releases in the next month or so it will be free for anyone
My inner math and coding nerd is highly irritated by their misuse of the term "vector" in the "Vector3" node, when it's clearly describing a single point in space.
Right not making race check points isn't possible because of a bug. Right now I've been focusing on a farming game. But racing should be an easy game mode to make

The x,y,z arrows are called the UCS (user coordinates system) and there are two types; world= absolute and object= relative

Yeah it's called UCS in CAD programs like Civil 3D

Great video man. Can't wait till we can all stay messing with forge! Sky is the limit
I miss the simpler days.....
Excellent video. Thank you so much

@@derrikcreates Awesome! I'll keep an eye out on your videos! (RUclips recommended your video nearly a month later but I'm glad I saw it still! 😅)
Awesome thanks
this is great, thanks for sharing

Thanks man!
Had this on my watch later for months 😆 now I’m gonna watch it since forge released
Coincidentally my name is also Derek lol. I just joined your channel
27:07 should be clipped and put in memes

are there still variants for objects? or did they not make it?
Is there a way to change the orginal ground texture of a map? Say I've selected the dessert level but want to to change to snow.
Now that forge is out I can't seem to group objects like in H5. I used to build whole bases the group as one so I can move it around the canvas
You need to select your grouping of object and save them as a prefab. then you can just add the prefabs all over the place
You can only scale static objects
How do I setup spawns specific for a team in slayer

I hope this helps ruclips.net/video/MqDDsrT5KGs/видео.html. Its still processing HD
i cant see my mouse with mouse and keyboard

so that 1/150 is that 1/150 max of that item type or is it 1/150 of max amount of selectable items at once?
It's objects selected. I tested it on stream the other day. They don't do a great job explaining small things like that
Is it possible to save a node graph so that I can use it in another map

@@derrikcreates ok thanks for the tips
Can you make anything at all work like a .... pressure plate.... trip wire .... or motion sensor?
If so imagine the scripts you could trigger!

I got halo infinite for free on Xbox can I use forge?

@@derrikcreates oh okay thank you for telling me I’ve been wondering for ages 🙏
