Does nobody remember lack-2/Blake childhood because in pokemon black 2 he had no family, no friends, nobody to have anything with and so he became a heartless trainer that doesn't care for pokemon just to finish the job and the Interpol or International Police literally raised him to be the perfect weapon only for them remove him because of no emotion then went crazy and harmed both people and pokemon to finish Lookers job to defeat team Plasma, now N tried to save his Father only for Blake to tell him to leave him he doesn't want anyone's help, not even yours then he went out to freeze Colress and turn him in after all that N asked why he does what he does and all Blake said was Be glad you have emotions and the ability to forgive I lost that at Birth only for N to say you're a bad person who believes pokemon should used as ways to do what others want before Lack turned around and said I let you leave to help return the pokemon stolen don't make me change my mind then when Interpol allows him back they said if push comes to shove kill him to make sure he won't end us all.

Gen 5 music always gets me because it reminds me of my childhood. And what really gets me is Unwavering Heart. I wish I could go back to the good old days. 😭
The description of each music, as well as the effects of certain melody and notes make the difference compared to other top we can find out on RUclips. Please keep doing this, I love what you're doing. From France hihi
@Gamer88 Actually, what happened was that an incident happened during time travel, causing the player and Grovyle to lose hold of each other. The player washed up on the beach, losing their memories in the process, while Grovyle got to... the Eastern Forest? I think?
Unwavering Heart/Emotions and Don't Ever Forget never fail to open the floodgates. I was reading up and like " wow, that's real interesting", but I could hardly see the screen past the wall of tears on Don't Ever Forget. The Mystery Dungeon games hit that soft spot in my heart, never fail to make me shed a tear. A whole game dedicated towards this friendship. This bond. Just watching my partner lost and hopeless, it hurts the soul.
Everyone agrees to that Emotion/unwavering heart in black n white should be number 1. But maybe the story is not that sad compare to mystery dungeon one Even now, some channels out there still use this music for their sad video
The saddest for me is in X and Y when this guy ask if he wants you to play his song, then it plays unwavering heart. That will always get me and is probably my favorite moment In pokmeon
Oh boy, I was wondering how many Mystery Dungeon tracks you'd include and Through the Sea of Time and Don't Ever Forget were literally the 2 that stuck in my mind as ones that should be included and they were. Heck you know Don't Ever Forget is powerful when I got emotional just hearing it here and I felt all of my PMD2 ending feelings.
Same here m8, same here. It be the only theme on this list that still moves me to tears every time I hear it, as a grown ass man who is 21 years old, soon to be 22 next month. It’s just so powerful, you hear it once, and it’s with you forever. It will always be the reason why Mystery Dungeon holds a special place in my heart.
Honestly the main story endings for both rescue team and explorers were heckin sad. Rescue team slightly less so because you aren't getting erased from existence but it's still enough to bring grown men to tears. That whole ending sequence and the soundtracks following tied together really well. And the CREDITS MUSIC. WEW.
All credits music feels quite sad tbh... It's the end of your journey... You did so much, helped people, got stronger, defeated everyone who stood in your way, became the champion... But everything is over now.
That is quite true. It reminds me of when you grow up and realize that you are now an adult and your childhood is over. Realizing that you didn't know, but was so happy for years. Sometimes you realize how much Pokémon has taught you in your childhood. When I start to think about the credits, when your trip ends, I think it is a way of expressing that you have finished a trip, such as childhood. I realized that in certain Pokémon video games, there are NPCs who tell you that when a child goes on a journey with their Pokémon, they come back as "grown-ups". Personally I interpret it this way: the trip is childhood itself, and when you realize you are already an adult, which could be interpreted as the end of the trip, and that you have to take advantage of and enjoy that trip to the fullest.
5:47 I always think of N trying to get through to Ghetsis about pokemon bonds. It just feels like there's finally hope.. After so much pain and suffering... We finally made N understand what he should do.. I can't wait to see him again whenever he shows up...
I actually get tears rising from the time gear theme that you used in the between. The leitmotif that arises through the main chorus of the song really hits you as you complete mystery dungeon, becoming more and more impactful.

My buddy who I used to always play Pokémon with got me Black Version 2 for my birthday one year, and every time I hear that song I miss him. Imo almost every hometown theme also deserves a honorable mention (especially Nuvema town), since the nostalgic feeling you get after beating the main campaign, becoming champ, etc. and coming home back to your roots where everything began is something everyone can experience, with their own individual experiences to think back to And the themes make the nostalgia hit even harder then it already is
Don't Ever Forget was the runner-up for number one, and I personally thought it should have been the actual number one. Such a beautiful piece, and one of the only times I have EVER gotten close to crying at a video game.
Nothing beats “Tears After the Cloudy Weather” from the pokemon anime. The track that plays when Ash is attacked by the spearows and again when releasing butterfree
The first time I cried with sad Pokemon music was Grovyle's sacrifice....Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Explorers of Darkness was the first one I completed before I got Time and Sky. Grovyle's sacrifice...it hit me pretty hard, knowing Grovyle won't appear again...like I said...it hit me pretty hard....
let me guess, the second time is the time you realised that the character you played with this whole game practically choose suicide to save the future he came from, which erased his existence since that future no longer exists.
5:48 this one popped up in my dream for some reason and I spent a good few hours looking for it but I just couldn’t find it. I finally found it by instead of googling Pokémon theme doo doo doo I searched up Pokémon sad music

This one Grovyle in Pokemon Mystery Dungeon 2 was the reason why I started to love all of its evolution line and make them part of my team in the main games whenever I could. The music of that scene might not be the saddest but the story part itself was the only time a Pokemon game made me cry.
A wavering heart: ;-; N's farewell: THIS FEELS WORSE THAN SHADOW'S PIANO THEME Emma's theme: not as sad as n's farewell Lament of the falling stars: well uhhhh I don't know how to explain this one Don't ever forget: well this theme was not as sad but THE STORY FOR THIS PART IS SADDDD 😭😭😭
I feel like Enveloped in Light/Time to Part Ways should’ve been on this list, possibly on the same spot. (SPOILERS FOR SUPER MYSTERY DUNGEON. DO NOT CLICK READ MORE IF YOU HAVEN’T PLAYED IT YET AND DON’T WANT SPOILERS.) As your partner is enveloped in a ball oflight, they explained that they knew they would have to go when Xerneas revealed their past. However, they begged him/her/it/whatever-pronouns-you-prefer (even though it’s referred to as male) to at least inform the player. Their past as Mew remains as part of them, but at the same time, they’re a new Pokémon. The part of them that’s Mew is glad that their task from long ago has been completed, but the part of the, that’s your partner is heartbroken that they have to give up on their dreams... and leave you. The music’s simple but somewhat mysterious-sounding repeating note patterns may symbolize the fact that it’s a shock that your partner is the one who leaves, since first time players who expect the same ending as all other PMD games may not be able to process this right away. (Heck, even the in-game player character thinks they’ll have to go!) However, the partner’s sadness can be heard in the sad chords mixed in throughout. Time to Part Ways is basically the point of Enveloped in Light where the player recovers from the shock, fully realizing what’s going on. The music is much clearly sadder, as the in-game player and partner both break into tears. The partner realizes that their time with the player has run out as the light (and music) get stronger, and they let the player know that they’re the one who taught them that the world only keeps going through support and acceptance, as the ball of light grows even stronger. Your partner thanks you for all of the adventures you had, and rises into the sky. You then hear their last words: “I’ll be fine! I’m always fine, aren’t I? So, ... Do me one last favor... and don’t you cry!” The player character realizes that this is why they chose to forget everything, as this was the only way things could end. Around that time (depending on whether or not you button mashed), the music loops back to around a certain point before, and at said point, the music seems a little hopeful, as if your character, despite seeming to have lost their best friend, still has hope deep down inside that they’ll reunite with their friend. This is especially seen in the quote after the credits: “When two spirits meet and go through so much together... they must be drawn back together. They will surely meet again.”
Where is "Tears through the Cloudy Weather" on this list? You know the music that actually made us cry over Ash's Butterfree 20 episodes in? Was it disqualified for being anime exclusive? Or did it's intentional usage as the "sad theme in the anime" in James backstory that didn't exactly happen prevent it from being placed as even a runner up?
How is Unwavering Emotions over used in black and white 2? The memories use the tune in every single one, but it was a theme to represent heartbreak, resilience, secrets, and naivety. All of the memories filled this role. I'm not arguing with your point. Just expressing my opinion. It filled its role every time it was used.
I am all for opinions, and yours are of course great ones, but I personally think don't ever forget should've gotten 1st. It holds a special place in my life and my heart as one of the most important video game moments I've ever witnessed. I wouldn't say the most important, I definitely don't know what the most important moment is for me. Whether it be collecting shines or facing off against the Plasm Wraith, I don't know. I just know our opinions are a little different, and that's cool. I'm glad there are people out there different from me, I can't always expect people to think the same way, that'd be pretty boring.
An unwavering heart always manages to make me cry from all the memories I had playing Pokémon black and white 2 now my ds and 3ds are broken and I will never have those memories again
I cried at this, it's just so sad. I want Pokèmon Sun and Moon The End playing at my funeral to show everybody something. It will tell them how much I cherished them, just like my team, especially Litten. It will let them know I had fun playing the game, similar to how much fun my life was in the long run. It shows that my life has been a great adventure with ups and downs, just like the battles. Then, the happy bit just at the end tells them all that it's ok that I'm not here anymore. It shows just how much I enjoyed being around them, similar to how much I enjoyed everybody in Pokèmon Sun and Moon. I'll never forget my Litten or the people in my life.
The music didn’t make my cry because I haven’t really played the games with the saddest tunes (other than ORAS) and can’t really relate to them, but this comment almost made my cry
The saddest ones on pokemon mystery dungeon-explorers of the sky is when the player vanishes and your friend go without you and crying at the flying stone...I just getting some eyetears out from my eyes....
wow, the analysis in this video is amazing, i wasn't expecting such depth from a video i just stumbled across! from one music student to another- amazing work! and great choices too!!
personally, i think the music that hits me the most (if we don’t include nostalgia because it would’ve been the platinum credits for me) is the bw ending theme. first there’s N’s farewell, making me extremely sad, then the credits come and the music is just too powerful for me. it doesn’t sound sad, it’s more triumphant but that’s what makes me sad. it shows that you’ve finished the main game and that your journey was triumphant just like this music
Mystery Dungeon EoS only game to make me cry as a kid. Like damn. That was intense. Especially the fact that when you disappear, the song is LITERALLY CALLED I Don't Wanna Say Goodbye.
There is one I'd like to mention that wasn't on here... "Living Spirit" from PMD2. This song plays when Grovile and Dusknor are taking a break from traveling and Dusknor asks Grovile why he fights...if he knows the goal will result in being erased from existence, and Grovile explains that being he will die someday eventually...the timing doesn't matter...but wants to use what time he has left, to be able to save the future so that mons of future generations will be able to live a better life. This perfectly how both characters feel about life and show that both are fighting for what they believe in and that good and evil are a matter of perspective. Because from Dusknor's perspective, this will result in him being killed and he is afraid of change and would rather have things be the way they are...if it means keeping what he knows.
An Unwavering Heart always gets me.

And the themes make the nostalgia hit even harder then it already is
Don't Ever Forget was the runner-up for number one, and I personally thought it should have been the actual number one. Such a beautiful piece, and one of the only times I have EVER gotten close to crying at a video game.
My friend died recently and, despite its sad tune, listening to Emotion (It will always be emotion for me, not Unwavering Heart) helps ease my mind.
I remember N he was the best, I'm brought to tears just thinking about him.
I feel like an unwavering heart should be higher
Nothing beats “Tears After the Cloudy Weather” from the pokemon anime.
The track that plays when Ash is attacked by the spearows and again when releasing butterfree
The first time I cried with sad Pokemon music was Grovyle's sacrifice....Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Explorers of Darkness was the first one I completed before I got Time and Sky. Grovyle's sacrifice...it hit me pretty hard, knowing Grovyle won't appear again...like I said...it hit me pretty hard....
my friend the special episodes have great news for you
Play explorers of sky, there are special episodes, and in special episode 5, best boi grovyle is on fire
let me guess, the second time is the time you realised that the character you played with this whole game practically choose suicide to save the future he came from, which erased his existence since that future no longer exists.
Can I just say this person is incredibly deep in their explanations? Bravo!
5:48 this one popped up in my dream for some reason and I spent a good few hours looking for it but I just couldn’t find it. I finally found it by instead of googling Pokémon theme doo doo doo I searched up Pokémon sad music
Pokémon means so much to me man. This stuff gets me in tears every time.
Next do happiest pokemon music
Don't ever forget made me cry...😢
I grew up with Y, and the Looker quest line gave me so much, I thought I drained the game but they're still there. I don't think I have my copy of Y anymore, but I can always thank it for the memories
that clapping music at n's castle sounds weird
XD
It's cracking of the castle. There are parts that are still cracking and is about to break off.
Its your ass getting clapped
@@reliomese2873 wha-
@@reliomese2873 ...
5:52 that's what I came looking for , I really need this for an amourshipping video!! This one's too sad 😫😔😢. Thank-you so much I needed this track bad
I SUBSCRIBED!!!!!!!!
@ItzDimond yes
You probably don’t get why I’m saying this, but AmourShipping is very one-sided
@@Error-gz3pp yea, ash doesnt really love serena back
I moved on from that ship it was the one that I liked the most though
@@Momma-bomber funny story , i just finished making another amourshipping edit . its been 2 years . ive grown a shit ton mature but i still like to ship em
I think route 10 should definitely be added to this list. I remember keeping my DS open under my pillow to that song.
my sensitive ass crying at the last 4:
god damn it, here we go again.
Seriously I cried when I finished playing Moon
😭😥😔
idk why but I feel sad and stuff whenever I beat the champion and the credits roll in.
My DS was on red and bad part is it was at the doctors office whenever I completed sun
This one Grovyle in Pokemon Mystery Dungeon 2 was the reason why I started to love all of its evolution line and make them part of my team in the main games whenever I could. The music of that scene might not be the saddest but the story part itself was the only time a Pokemon game made me cry.
And if you watch the short anime one (PMD Explorer of Sky Beyond Time and Darkness), You can Imagine how Grovyle's VA said that from the game.
An unwavering heart is the best
Yes😭
And here I cried since the start due to the time gear.
A wavering heart: ;-;
N's farewell: THIS FEELS WORSE THAN SHADOW'S PIANO THEME
Emma's theme: not as sad as n's farewell
Lament of the falling stars: well uhhhh I don't know how to explain this one
Don't ever forget: well this theme was not as sad but THE STORY FOR THIS PART IS SADDDD 😭😭😭
I feel like Enveloped in Light/Time to Part Ways should’ve been on this list, possibly on the same spot. (SPOILERS FOR SUPER MYSTERY DUNGEON. DO NOT CLICK READ MORE IF YOU HAVEN’T PLAYED IT YET AND DON’T WANT SPOILERS.)
As your partner is enveloped in a ball oflight, they explained that they knew they would have to go when Xerneas revealed their past.
Yes! Explorers of Sky has a rightful place on this list!!
An Unwavering Heart is the only one that's made me cry
The Tower of Mastery theme and KISEKI both from Pokemon X/Y should definitely be on this list. They're so underappreciated--!
Why does the Pokémon Ranger Game over theme remimds me so much about the soundtrack "Determination" from Undertale ?
@CosmoPlaysMC Thanks
Veey sad... Other emotive song is National Park, from Pokemon Gold and Silver, but if it's for other video it's ok. Good video!
Unwavering heart is the one that real gets into, well my heart ❤️
Where is "Tears through the Cloudy Weather" on this list? You know the music that actually made us cry over Ash's Butterfree 20 episodes in? Was it disqualified for being anime exclusive? Or did it's intentional usage as the "sad theme in the anime" in James backstory that didn't exactly happen prevent it from being placed as even a runner up?
I believe the music was just from the games
Don’t ever forget is way sadder than everything else here
So im at 0:32 rn but i wanted to say thank you for not just including the main series games
The end credits for Pokémon sun and moon is my top 1 pick.
Pokemon’s ending credit scenes are always so tear-jerking. I’d usually start sulking while watching the memories flow by.
oh yeah, it only cost me an arm and a leg first half of DPP and Sun and Moon’s are the saddest
I cri! Great vid, but the feeling oml!!
It's the mystery dungeon music that give me the chills.. AND IT'S AMAZING!
I love this list! I had really expected within the sadness (PMD) to be on here because wow it... Just invokes such dismay it's amazing.
I don’t know why but I cried at the ending of sun and moon because I saw all of my favorite characters
8:04 is the thumbnail if anyone cares
An unwavering heart always manages to make me cry from all the memories I had playing Pokémon black and white 2 now my ds and 3ds are broken and I will never have those memories again
God i get goosebumbs by listening to NR. 5 and NR. 1(Runner up)
SM Lillie's Farewell (I think) has leitmotifs of Lillie's theme and the SM main theme.
ORAS is really sad and PSMD (Pokemon Super Mystery Dungeon)
The saddest ones on pokemon mystery dungeon-explorers of the sky is when the player vanishes and your friend go without you and crying at the flying stone...I just getting some eyetears out from my eyes....
Man, why *sigh*
sniff :(
Any sad music from Pokemon Mystery Dungeon 2 instantly kills me, even the songs that don't sound that sad... Without context.
Great musical analysis! It really made me think about the emotions the composers were trying to convey regarding the game settings.
This is why XY is my favorite
Wait, where's Fine Park from Detective Pikachu?
This brings me back so many memoris 😓
Mon cœur se brise a chaque fois que j’entends « lament of the falling stars »
wow, the analysis in this video is amazing, i wasn't expecting such depth from a video i just stumbled across! from one music student to another- amazing work! and great choices too!!
Dont Ever Forget.. thats the theme Armenti uses in his Loomian Legacy videos... we will miss u Brick Bronze... in our hearts and in our dreams
The most safest thing I’ve ever herd
This is beautiful!!!!!Yet sad 😢
Ps I did not cry
suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuureeee you didn't.....................
Yeah totally...
same!! people just cant understand..
10,5,4, extra 2,2,1 runner up and 1 are the saddest to me
6.number 1
5.extra 2
4.number 2
3.1 runner up
2.number 4
1. number 5
personally, i think the music that hits me the most (if we don’t include nostalgia because it would’ve been the platinum credits for me) is the bw ending theme. first there’s N’s farewell, making me extremely sad, then the credits come and the music is just too powerful for me. it doesn’t sound sad, it’s more triumphant but that’s what makes me sad. it shows that you’ve finished the main game and that your journey was triumphant just like this music
Mystery Dungeon EoS only game to make me cry as a kid. Like damn. That was intense. Especially the fact that when you disappear, the song is LITERALLY CALLED I Don't Wanna Say Goodbye.
N's Farewell hits like a train ✊😔
So I thought this was gonna be only from the main games, but then the music opened up with PMD music and I immediately teared up
There is one I'd like to mention that wasn't on here...
A really good top, well done! I thank you a lot, now I have new music to listen
N’s farewell killed me he became my favorite character instantly and still is and him leaving killed me it shattered my heart
