thanks for posting. this is great! bought the soundtrack on cassette at Wuxtry in the mid-90's when I made the pilgrimage all the way from South Africa, but never saw the film until now. wonderful town, great people.
I knew some of these people pretty well during my adolescence in Athens- notably Jim Herbert (Art Professor) Ricky Wilson, Keith Strickland, and Jerry Ayers. I left before the music scene broke worldwide. I still am in touch with Herbert- he changed my life, outlook, and life motivation. As odd luck would have it, my friend Owen Scott III and I recorded(EAT MY CLOUD-The Smoking Gnomes) a pretty decent record 40 + years after meeting in Athens.
My best buddy is Danny Cottar from TIME TOY. When he lived here in Petaluma, CA we played in a band together. He's the best guitar player I've ever known. He can play ANYTHING.
I just deleted my previous, complimentary comment to ask this. Anyone recall a scene from the film that has someone reading the lyrics to Love Tractor's "I Broke My Saw"? Maybe the poet who wrote it ? I saw it on youtube several years ago, but cannot find even a reference now. : )
