      Michael Johnson particularly (that is Michael Johnson I think...) Sounds like he thinks Lamaitre doesn't deserve to win. "He throws himself forward and that's why he won.." He covered the 200m faster than everyone else, THAT'S why he won!!!

    i'm not just saying stuff off the top of my head..i was a really good 200m runner in high school and with lemaitre's build and the fact his running doesn't really come into it's own till after 40-50m would be a good indicator he may be a decent 200m runner..the difference with bolt is that bolt has mastered the start and first 40 meters to certain extent..if lemaitre can do this he would be truly world class

  • @rascasse83
    @rascasse83 13 лет назад +1

    What a lot of people don't know is the semi-professional training regime lemaitre was under in 2010... I mean the guy was still studying for his baccalaureate...imagine when he becomes a full time professional athlete. He's going to kick as@ (black, white n all sorts of colors shapes n forms of as@)

    Christophe Lemaitre is not fully developed as an athlete his body currently can only cope with 10 hours training a week, that 2 hours from monday to friday...hardly more than what amateur athletes do...and he hardly does any weight training...that makes one wonder how much faster he can go !
    On top of this he has a unique mental aptitude...he is the epitome of a winner.
    He has everything to develop further and could challenge for a 3rd or 4th place finish on a world stage someday soon.

  • @rascasse83
    @rascasse83 13 лет назад +1

    @chichibud31 I never said he would break the world or olympic records, where did you get that from?. I just said that he has a big margin of progression as he wasn't until now a full time athlete. Some say he will certainly go under 9'90 but then no-one knows his real limits. In the world he is aiming himself someday to be in the Top 5. That would be a massive achievement in itself.

    @chichibud31 People who look at 100m and 200m runners and think they 'look' like they could run a great 400m have no idea what anaerobic energy system mean. You can't see these things until the guy actually does it and proves he can develop the endurance that he needs to complete a full out lap. Not all fast-twitch muscle speed-based athletes can develop that endurance. Its not because CL hasn't got massive 'muscle mass' right now that he will necessarily be a good 400m athlete...

  • @PalamededeGuermantes
    @PalamededeGuermantes 13 лет назад

    @TheAngeltoDemon : about the gap between white/black sprinters and runners in general, some scientists give the explanation that some black people (west african) have a gene that makes them have less subskin fat and others characteristics, so they have a better potential for sprint and anaerobic sports. But still IMO, the money countries put in sports facilities and programs makes a big difference. 15 years ago, Jamaican sprint basically meant Merlene Ottey

    @Ethanace Yep I saw that, welcome back :-)
    I see your point. Still in that race, I don't see why the host said so: On the picture, "L" and "M" bodies looked parallel, they share the same angle on that finish line, no? So he wasn't really leaning more than the other (for once), he just started earlier.
    As somebody else pointed out, his foot was also in front Malcolm's one, identical posture, no diving there.
    Racism against French folk doesn't exist except in France, so you're forgiven ;-)

    So if he runs a 9.8s or a 19.8s (which I think he will) he has to be taking PEDs, because, apparently, all the top sprinters have run these times and they are all on PEDs according to some well informed commentors on this panel. I did not know there were some people here who know all these athletes personally, following each of them day and night and seeing them take performance enhancers.
    Apparently atheletes aren't meant to improve so they should all be at the same level all the time.
