Love the AVID CNC! I used to do electrical inspections in Western Washington and was at the owner of AVID's house for an inspection and his personal CNC was near his electrical panels. At that time he was working on the rotary tool add on for the cnc.

4:43: why not put the slab on a flat e.g. plywood sheet, screw it from the bottom so it doesn't move (with short-ish screws), then CNC flatten the top?
Great question! If you tried to pull the bed. Out of it and then surface it. It will be smooth and parallel to the other side but it won’t be flat. It will spring back to a curved shape.
You can see it how much you actually miss that vibe, the shop and working with John. But im sooooo glad you 2 finally got around to do something again....
