So sorry man. Also, I was impressed with your “frustration strength” of loading it back in the truck. I know exactly how I would be feeling in that situation and it sucks! Hope you get the replacement soon!
I was so excited when I got my Sawstop this year! Was really sad when it was DOA and had to wait a week for a new one. Glad to see they said to just bring it back. SS told me I had to fix it myself and sent me a part. When I asked for a new saw, he laughed at me. The shop got ahold of SS and fixed it all. They replaced my saw after the shop came to fix it w/ the part SS send and couldn't get the bolts off. :( Still, I Iove my table saw! Upgraded from a 113 Craftsman. Night and Day! Two of us girls tipped it out of the crate! Almost killed ourselves! LOL
Tough luck. I had a similar incident with a jointer I purchased. It was a Ridgid from Home Depot with a cracked casting. Good thing is they came and picked it up after I called and expressed my concerns… a week later I had a new one, it's been great ever since.
Yeah, they don’t arrive like that. I got mine from Rockler. I spent more time aligning the cast iron wings and getting the fence and blade perfectly aligned than I did actually putting it together. My guess. If, and I wouldn’t unless you bought that used for $1000. But just best advice is to get the largest arm saver device you can find. And get ready to lift and wedge. Lift and wedge. And then align it. But you can return, so hurray.
That sucks man. You are right though. The flesh detection tech is a great peace of mind, especially if you have folks not used to working with a table saw. If that brake saves you even once, its already worth it. Also, at least you had some help. I had to stand mine up and get it on the mobile base by myself lol. It was a very puckering experience.
Talk about demoralizing. I thought the blade height wheel looked to be at an angle from the front camera view, but the side view REALLY showed it was out of whack. Like you said, these things happen sometimes. I think I'd be checking out the next one at the store, if possible, before loading it.
Literally just placed an order at Woodcraft of Pittsburgh for the same exact saw. Super sorry to hear this happened to you. My anxiety is now super high as I await mine. Especially since I’ll be transporting mine 50 miles from Woodcraft and then hauling into my basement shop. What is your resolution looking like from SawStop/Woodcraft?
is that your saw that was sitting there on Sunday!? I think this was a freak thing a far outside of the normal buying experience. they have a new saw on order for me. should be in next week.
@@SamGreenMaker Glad to hear they’ve got a new one coming for ya soon! And no unfortunately not haha, I went in Monday after a bad experience at Rockler and Woodcraft’s manager Jon hooked me up and said he was actually placing another order that day that I could be a part of. May be arriving in a similar timeframe as yours!
If the box had no sign of damage, then it must have happened at the factory. The Quality Control person must have missed inspecting this one. Hopefully SawStop gives you an extra blade and brake for your troubles. Maybe they’ll get someone to assist with the assembly.
Sawstop gave me nothing extra. Just laughed at for wanting a new saw when the arbor was bad out of the box. The shop had to deal with SS to get it exchanged.
@@renaissancewoodworking WOW - what terrible customer service. Yeah they made it right but come on. You spend $3k plus for a saw. It should work out of the box. Shame on SawStop.
😢 sorry to hear. Hope you got it all worked out. My Grizzly came from Taiwan, it had a motor support bracket you had to remove it was for shipping. I drove down to Springfield mo To buy a table saw some 22 years ago it got unboxed at the store took 4 guys to put my 1023z 3 hp cabnit saw in my 1994 toyota celica coupe Before i drove down i took out the passenger seat i drove the car home took 3 guys to get it out of the car. I realized it was 240volt saw, i dont have 240 volts in my garage and there is sat for the last 22 years never once been plugged in or turned on. You think your wait is long. But i know your feelings.
Yeah hat sucks idd, I had a dent on the fence on a brand new dewalt table saw; they replaced it... same dent on exactly the same spot (different serial number though)... I settled for a 50$ discount since the fence itself was still straight and the dent was only aesthetic in the end
That really sucks man! Did you already manage to get a new saw? This is the machine that’s been on my wishlist for the longest time, but unfortunately I’m based in Europe and SawStop is not yet exporting to Europe 😢 I hope you get the new saw soon and everything goes well! 👍
Man, you're way nicer than me. Once I found out it was broken, the whole pile would get jammed in the back of the truck. No putting it back in the box. lol. I'd bet somewhere in that line, someone dropped something and just said "oops" and put it back on the truck.
For when you do get your new SawStop, I highly recommend instead of using wax on the cast iron, that you use Carbon Method Carbon Coating for your cast iron top. It works great and prevents rusting for a long time and provides a slick enough surface.
Wow, that’s terrible. That pallet had to be dropped for it to be broken like that. You put a lot more effort into repackaging it than I would have. Hopefully the replacement arrives quickly and in perfect working order.
Sorry man. That sucks. I can’t wait for your new saw to be up and running. Hopefully, they’ll deliver it to your house directly and gate-lift into your garage so you don’t have to do all that again. It’s the least they can do to make this right. IMO
Dude that's rough! Hopefully the saw is replaced quickly. I really enjoy your content. It would be cool if you and Jordan are still in contact to do a project together again! Always liked the way you two worked together.
Hello my name is Jeff and I have watched a few of your videos with out subscribing to your channel. I saw picture saying it's here and decided to watch this video to see your excitement. At the end of the video to see the broken saw and you packing it up was gut wrenching to me and it's not even mine. To see you disappointed but not cast blame on any parties involved showed me you character, who you truly are and this spoke volumes to me. I am now a subscriber and will have to go back and watch all your videos. It may not mean much to you but we'll done because it meant alot to me. Cheers
Thank you Jeff, This comment means a lot to me! I will continue to show up and make content for you and people like you that continue to support! Cheers
Would be interested to know what sawstop did for you for your time/trouble. Gas money. Hours of travel/transport, loading/unloading, attempted assembly time, etc. Did they do anything for you?!?
What a bummer. I'm sure SawStop will take care of it and the joy will return. Can't wait to see it setup. I'm only over in South Park ... are you going to have a grand opening when the replacement arrives? 😁🤪
Damn… I’d seen the front wheel go on and thought “what is that at an angle?” But mine is the size down and I bought it assembled… so wasn’t sure… next one will be right Sam!
When you get the next one you will be wise to check all the parts are secure and undamaged. This experience should mean that in the end you get a Monday morning device and not that Friday afternooner
Sorry for ya Sam! That totally sucks. 😢Hopefully they’ll provide a “pain and suffering upgrade.” Can’t wait to see how it all turns out and what you make going forward.

Paste Wax is good, Boeshield T-9 Rust and Corrosion Protection/Waterproof Lubrication is better.
going to look this up now. maybe we can do a side by side test someone just told me that they stopped making Johnson's paste wax
FWIW I spray Boeshield all over the engine of my Sea Doo and it has 200 hours and looks brand new. Great stuff.
