    Nice tour! I see you have a different take on bandsaws than I assumed from your other video 😏😏.
    The star of this one is that chain mortiser!! I think I’ve only seen one other on RUclips, in Mike Farrington’s shop. I’ve been using one for almost fifty years 😀😀. I think they’re a largely unknown, but hugely versatile tool. In our shop we occasionally build large poplar frames, that take drop-in panels. The chain mortiser is awesome for that.

      Wow that's so cool! I'm still learning to use mine. Can I reach out for tips when I get settled into my new shop and start using it more? Any way I can reach you on social media or something? I have a few specific questions. Thanks for watching..

    Very nice shop and you have some great tools for someone who has not been at for very long. Having your grandfather's lathe is a blessing. My dad has been gone for 43 years now and I still have his jig saw and circular saw that I will use sometimes just because I know he used them.

  • @edaker4684

    You've got a heck of a setup there in such a short period. I've been doing it as a hobby and a profession (for someone else) since the early 90's and still don't have a set up as nice as yours. The one easy thing I believe you should always be doing with a table saw is keeping a riving knife installed if you got one. If you don't have one, make one. There's no excuse not to because it does so much good. Good luck with your future craft endeavors!

    Awesome to see a Canadian woodworking channel. I've just started out in Vancouver in my garage about a third the size of yours so been finding used benchtop size machines mostly. Did you have to overhaul your electrical to run all those machines? I put a dedicated 120v outlet in my shop on it's own circuit which has been a HUGE improvement.

    • @williamswoodntools
      @williamswoodntools  11 месяцев назад

      Yes I did. I had a whole segment about it but we cut it from the video. Put a 220 sub panel in the garage. I have about 7 220 outlets in there now. Essential.

    • @SamThackray
      @SamThackray 11 месяцев назад

      Jealous. 120 is good for me though since I don't have the physical space for machines that would run off 240... nor do I have the disposable income lol, still just at hobby level novice

    For someone just starting out you can tell that you have spent a lot of time thinking things through. As always with me a good shop tour gets a subscribe. However we all need some videos in the future now. Heed Rob Cosman's advise - It is hard to make money as a woodworker alone - assuming you do not have 10 children like he did. So RUclips should be a good choice for you. Good work, converses well, good machinery and good shop - you have most already. Need more hand tools and planes though.

    What is the diameter of the PVC pipe for the dust collection? I’m strategizing dust collector set up at my place and trying to decide whether 4 inch PVC with a few turns in it will be adequate.

    • @williamswoodntools
      @williamswoodntools  11 месяцев назад

      Yep, mine is 4" and its adequate. 4" PVC is the most affordable and efficient option. Going up to 5" or bigger doesn't add enough value to make the extra cost worth it imo.

    Hello, what's your floor dimensions? I also work in a two car garage, which is 20 ft x 20 ft. I feel mine is a lot smaller than yours. lol

      Mine is about 24' x 23'. Have you seen my shop tour video? I break it all down there: ruclips.net/video/cY6LJDOwiVY/видео.html
