Youre a real mad lad taking it apart. I dont have the guts to do that lol i just taped the shit out of mine to prevent paint getting where i didnt want it. Turned out really good actually!
That whole deconstruction segment was amazing. I’ve been having massive difficulty with getting the helmet to fit comfortably
I find it best to just wear a thick beanie underneath and take out the headstrap
Love the paint scheme, looks like a combination between the holiday special boba fett and the deathwatch

As soon as I saw you use that rustoleum metal finish, I knew your day was gonna get fucked up lol. NOTHING sticks to that stuff, I haven't tried yet but I think putting a gloss coat on the silver and then doing all your liquid and tape masking would fix all the paint coming up.

It’s a leap of faith. I believe in you! Filling in the existing damage isn’t mandatory though. You could easily just start painting right over it

I've got a 3d printer and printed myself a Din Djarin helmet. I then made some armor out of foam. If I ever make another set of armor, I really don't know whether I should have something movie/ show accurate or make a custom set with custom paint

It’s printed, filled, sanded, and silver, but sitting in storage hopefully not crushed. We moved across country and I haven’t had the time to go find it and get it started again. But I think it’s time!
If u wanna paint the brown/orange rubber inside the helmet you can use spray flex seal or plastidip

What tint did you use for the visor? I've been looking for something inexpensive to darken mine, but don't want to sacrifice visibility.
I've been looking for "one-way" black tint, but never thought about using a reflective tint inside-out.
They called it privacy film on Amazon. Just watch out so you don’t get the static-cling style stuff

Thanks man! Maybe as low as 120 for tearing down gobs of filler, but other than that 220 and up. Plastic isn’t that tough. I think I paint at 600

I had JUST picked up the Black Series Deathwatch helmet today and like the prototype it has the same scuff markings on the mold.
Definitely want to give it a repaint in areas but also really loving the stock color on it as well XP regardless this was a great tutorial to follow down the road and Definitely helps with the one other thing I was curious about which was the visor tint and using window privacy film.
That is a great looking bucket. I’m glad they’re getting more use out of those molds!
What size roll did you get for the BDF?
Where did you find that caulk gun? I love how you apply your masking with that. I need one!

Try using an old tootbrush to flick it it on - works even better.

Is the black series helmet more durable than the rubies? weight Differnce? I have a rubies i did and like. Im curious to try a black series if i can find a good deal on one
It’s quite a bit heavier. Don’t have access to any of them at the moment but if you’re looking to troop I think the Rubies is a great choice
I laughed so hard when you said those rubber pads were for show and the helmet came with a harness that was the most uncomfortable thing you put on your head so its not going back in there.
Love your helmets! Would you consider selling a 3d printed range finder and stalk for a Rubies helmet? The one the came with the helmet is terrible.
