Fun fact: Your videos are the reason why I got into 3D printing. One day I got recommended a video of yours on Tik Tok showing your Iron Man suit (the blue one.) I clicked on your profile to see how you did that, and that was when I learned about 3D printers. I did a lot of research from there and found that I can make anything I want and not just out of cardboard, as I usually did. I started freaking out when I was the final question on the Q and A video and that was when I decided to get my first 3D printer. I am currently making an Iron Man suit but I wanna say thank you for making videos!
DUDE That’s so cool to hear!!🙏🏼🙏🏼
I started out making things out of cardboard and just got my first 3d printer for Christmas and I am in love with it
My 4 year old saw one of your posts on instagram when I was scrolling through. Ever since then, he’s been so intrigued and inspired by you. We now have been watching engineering videos (As he asks for) each night. For the last couple of weeks we’ve been watching the Hacksmith before bed and then tonight we thought we’d check out this video of yours.
Half way through he says: “Emily is a great engineer”.
Long story short - thank you for inspiring lil ones like my son to explore and learn things like what you and other engineers are capable of.
Love your creativity and way of expressing your ideas and thoughts! 😄
This made my day 🥹 thank you guys for watching 💛
Emily you, Frank, and CTK got me into engineering and 3d printing and I plan on going to college for engineering. Thank you for all that you have done with your amazing videos!
i love that your husband's reaction and your shared enjoyment. thanks for sharing both your project and results!
Great job! Just the right amount of battle damage, and I love the rubber band fix!
helmet turned out great - a tip for ya , the visor you can order a Hobart 770580 Face Shield Replacement Lens or any similar brand or make - its a tinted welding shield - they cut easy with heavy scissors and are veryy flexible - awesome job on the helmet !!!!!
“This is South Carolina, why is it cold?“ as a fellow South Carolinian, I can say that one day it will be cold, the next day it is 100 degrees.
05:45 it's called a reticle 😜
Came out fantastic. Great build, painting & weathering
You always look great! No more talk of this! Lol
Keep it up. I genuinely see your talent and enjoy your builds
Happy 2022!
It looks great and so do you. No fancy shmancy tie needed. FYI: that little target thingy is called a reticle.
Keep up the good work. 👍 😎
Awesome job. I love the realness to your videos the struggles and everything. Your voice is funny how it changes. I like how you used the rubber band for the servo 👍👍🇨🇦
Currently printing Mando helmet, Boba is the next one. Great job!
For the rangefinder you should add display and camera with submarine radar showing people or vehicle. But the video really good and your husband funny 😂
I really liked this video.
Despite your troubles with the visor, you were pretty lucky regarding the paint. Mixing brands is always a gamble, and painting outside really surprised me. I'm in Toronto and although it's -7°c which is manageable, i couldn't imagine painting. But you pulled it off, and it looks fantastic.
This was just a cracking good video all around. It’s a shame I’m already subscribed, because if I weren’t, this one would have prompted me to.
Simple solution to visor cracking: use polycarbonate (lexan) instead of acrylic. Acrylic will crack if you look at it wrong. Polycarb is more flexible. Downside of lexan is that it scratches rather easily.
As for tinting, position the plastic on a table, and tape it down along one edge. Overlay the tint with backing still on it and tape it to the table as well. Flip tint sheet over, peel its backing. Mist both your clear piece and tint with soapy water. Gently lay tint over the plastic piece while squeegeeing water/air from between the two. Since both pieces are taped to a table you'll be able to use both hands for the process and it will go much easier.
Underrated channel! This was cool as heck!
emily that’s awesomely
Great trick with the rubber band!
Dude this is fuckin awesome!
Love your vids love those shirts!!!
I've been subscribed to you for awhile and I remember finding your channel and your so talented
Emily idk if you check comments on old videos but you're an AMAZING creator!
I love seeing engineers at work even if y'all make my programmer self look as dumb as we feel😂❤️
Hey Emily, been watching your channel for awhile now and you are my favorite 3D Printer and Crafter. Question are you going to make the rest of the suit of Boba Fett Armor? I also think my tools are my kids. You and your husband are a classic cosplay couple you guys are awesome. Incredible work Emily from one Mandalorian and Maker to another.
Thank you! And I’m thinking about making the rest of it! Have a couple other projects to finish up first but we’ll see! It’s tempting
Love your vids!👏
I don't know if somebody commented about that topic already but I think you used acrylic glass and that's very brittle and creates very sharp edges when it breaks. You should use poly carbonate. It doesn't break and is pretty scratch resistant. All modern headlights on cars are made of this. You can get sheets in all sizes on eBay or Amazon. Great work btw crap on building and greetings from Bavaria.
Great build and love the shirts
Fantastic Job. Came out amazing.
You are my favorite youtuber and now i am 3d printing too. And currently i am 3d printing ani Iron man suit. Thank you for showing how amazing 3d printing is.
Excellent work! 👌🏼 This was fun to watch.
Dope! Entertaining as well, good stuff.
The helmet looks great. 👍🏻 Thank you.
I Came from instagram. love the work you do. When I get my own 3D printer I'll be attempting this
For plastic that shatters i have found the metal cutoff disk for a dremel works wonders
I think the Book of Boba Fett is awesome !!! I watched The Mandalorian first and both are wicked good
Love your designs Emily!! Thanks for the videos 🤗
My dad would love one of those shirts xD He's so hype about 3d printing, I'll buy him a printer. Or maybe build one 🤔 we'll see xD
I just found you and I'm already subscribed. You just seem like such a fun and cool person 😁
Epic make!! Future reference maybe use a hot air gun/blow gun for the visors/acrylic parts, it's easier to manipulate using a hot air gun, anyway that's what I use
Que menina inteligente deveria ser estudada pela a NASA , sensacional show 😍🇧🇷
The "target" is called a reticle lol. It came out amazing! good job!
Quedo Suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuper!!!!..aparte que eres super simpática ....quedo genial!!!.y muy ameno todo el video!!!!,,felicitaciones!!!
You're amazing. Boba Fett is amazing.
Great Job Emily!!!
There is a tinted safety face shield that most people use and cut to fit that is dark enough
This is what I used for my Mando helmet. They are like 25 bucks on Amazon. I assume they are that high due to a lot of people buying them for cosplay or the fact they are legit welding lenses. Either way, they come pre tinted and mold easy with a heat gun.
A welding face shield works great for mandalorian visors.
I love all your works
Some times you leave them alone for the shortest amount of time, and suddenly spaghetti is everywhere
It do be like that
Try to get poly carbonate or petg sheets instead of acrylic. Much easier to bend and form than acrylic.
Looks great started my own version but can't find the range finder or just use rc servos
I mean it when I say you REALLY need more subs
Mix your own rustoleum colors next time. You can print/buy a female/female adaptor, freeze the 1/2 empty can you’d like to fill with paint, boil water and warm up the donor can, and depress both into the adaptor. With the cold cans lower pressure allows it to accept the other cans contents. It’ll stop hissing when the cold can is full.
Mr The Engineer was a good sport.
U said u printed the helm with out inner supports did u print the helm upside down just wondering??
That’s awesome
Great work! Maybe you should reconsider the weight distribution. I think it should be possible to discard the battery compartment and put one battery in each of the earpieces. Just two wires around the inner helmet will make them work together just like they do now in the compartment.
You missed one thing how 3D printers are like kids : They squirt weird semi-liquid substances that smell weird.
You're the reason why I am studying curiously my engineering degree🎓.
Thank you✌ IRON WOMAN
#Keep going
What micro controller did you use for this build? I’m a second year engineering student and this looks like it would be a fun project for the summer!
Absalutally insane i wish i was that good!!!🤣😁👍🔥
Hey thinking of doing this too, question is what did you use as the motor that moved the range finder up and down ?
Awesome work!!! Next project…full Boba Fett armor for you, to go with the helmet…and a Fennec Shand helmet and full costume for your hubby…hehehe!
Hahaha I actually like that 😂😂
Great video, a 0.6mm clear plastic sheet would've been more flexible (even Frank used 0.6mm!). Non the less I liked it!
Good job! you are getting better at making youtube videos too. :)
Thank you :))
yasss
Теперь мне захотелось учить английский чтоб хоть немного вас понимать, ибо это видео настолько классно.
Show 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Your printers are your kids? Wait to wake up one morning and your printer takes your truck....
For the battle damage you should just run headfirst into a bush or something while wearing it next time
You could use a safety visor, as many do for Mandalorian helmets. You can use a clear one and tint it, or the green one. Since there's no light inside the helmet, the green visor will look black.
Was really hoping for a finctional range finder
This kicks so much ass, it kicks Super-Ass!
I say try to make him a boba fett costume I think he’d love it 😂
Well, I think your husband nailed the next project, jetpack with rocket launcher. It would be cool to see a whole suit of Beskar. Great work BTW, the paint job looks great.
Hi emily. I have an ender 3 v2 and I got stuck with the glass bed. Since a week my prints suddenly don't stick anymore, so can you please make a vid about it? It would help me so much!
Try using a face shield for the clear plastic part of the helmet. You can get them in different tints too
Hello
This build looks sick
Question did you do the 3d modeling for the helmet? If you did even more cudos.
Please do a breakdown on the programming for the servo cause I can’t find anything about how you do it.!!!
Te amoooo Emily...❤️❤️❤️💘💘💘💘💘💘
I'm trying to make a combo action of boba fett's and Darth Vader's helmets to 3D print. (maybe sell) I most likely will model them in blender, but I am relatively new to it. I dont have any reference images, since this is an original Idea, so I was wondering what your approach to modeling something like this would be.
muito bom seu trabalho
you should make that back back now😳
If I have a wife one day and I get home from the grocery store and she’s not waiting for me with a Boba Fett helmet on I’m gonna say I forgot to get milk.
You're a genius
Amazing 🤩 🙌
What 3-D printer did you use to print the helmet?
Eres increíble (ノ≧∇≦)ノ ミ ┻━┻!!
Очень круто) ты молодец)
How were you able to print the dome without th visor?
Those shirts are great congrats on getting married
Hiiiii, i have a question
Do you can sit wearing the iron man suit??
Do the shirts ship to Canada?
Congrats
Your videos make me miss my printer
Gold star🎉
The wife looks like a Cocker Spaniel with the straight hair on top and curly hair down the sides. Husband looks like John Boy Walton.
Visor. Perhaps the plastic from the box fancier dress shirts come in.
Aaaaa........................... Aaaaaa............. 🤯 Aaaaaaa.............., that was my glorious purpose, its done, thank you.
"SoLder", Emily. Just like holder, boulder, folder, older, colder, SOLDER.
How did you print it without supports? Was it one piece?
There were no supports for the dome part. It was printed in one piece with supports only under the visor portion
@@EmilyTheEngineer thanks. You did say in the video, but I thought I’d miss heard. Time to test out my bridging
I dare you to make a crazy project from cardboard. no 3d printing
