I can't thank you enough for this tutorial! I've never created anything like this before and it brought me so much joy! Will be following for more! THANK YOU! 😃

These are soo adorable 💕 my sister loves gnome's so you'll no doubt have another fan. Thank you for sharing and I look forward to your next creation. Blessings..
Thank you so much ♡ My whole family is extremely artistic and I'm extremely NOT 😅 Your video is so easy to follow. I can't wait to get started with my grandkids!
Oh, I’m so glad it’s helpful! It makes me really happy to know you’ll be making memories with the grandkids too. I feel like it’s good for both grownups and kids to explore their inner artist!💕
Super super cute. Lars and Loretta. Gonna try making these for my daughter who is obsessed with gnomes! Just subscribed! Thank you for gifting us your incredible talent!
Yes, you could definitely use an oven bake clay like Fimo or Sculpey. You might want to create a cone out of foil first and form the gnome shape around that to save on clay and bake more quickly too.
Can you put a clear glaze or paint over them after they are painted to give them a shiny finish? Thanks for sharing. Enjoyed the video, they are adorable!
I can't wait! I'm expecting the delivery of my air dry clay and when I get my hands on it first thing I am making this absolutely beautiful pair!!!!! OMG!!!❤️😀😉♥️
Yay! I’m excited for you! Just a head’s up that you may need to secure the nose with some craft glue or E6000 if it comes off later. I’ve had one that did. Can’t wait to see what you come up with!
What I would suggest is putting the nose on to fit it on the toothpick and then let it dry separately. Then you can attach it with glue once everything dries. Or you can always leave it on and only use glue if it falls off later.
Can these be places outside? I'm turning a tree stump into a gnome house a d need some little gnomes to go around it. ☺️ Amazing video by the way and I'm now a follower!
Hi Tammy! Thanks for subscribing! Air dry clay may eventually get damaged by rain/moisture if you place it outside. You can try using a varnish or acrylic sealer to protect your little gnomes. That sounds like a really cute idea!
@@FirstDayofHome Thank you kindly for the reply! I'm going to give it a try. I live in Newfoundland and even if I can get a summer and fall out of them it would be great. Then on cold winter nights I can replenish for next summer ☺️
Hi Mindy. I haven’t had to spray mine, and they’re doing great so far! One did crack when I dropped him, but I glued the little piece back on and touched him up. He looks like new again.
Hi Mariann. What a fun idea for a library class! I don't have any particular fast-drying clay recommendations that I've personally used. However, one option to speed things along is using a structure like a cone wrapped in foil to serve as an armature. You would then wrap a thin layer of clay around it to form the main gnome shape. This method uses less clay and will therefore dry faster. Another option is using polymer clay and then baking it in the oven. Most polymer clays will cure in the oven in a short amount of time. You could still paint it afterward too. I hope this helps!
@@FirstDayofHome thank you! I’m excited to work on this project. I’m thinking about doing it in two days now. The group will probably enjoy coming back to paint. Thank you for your feedback.
I will have ones on all my cabinets! I have small gnomes I make now on my shelves...lol I call them my shelf huggers.. 😂 I just never tried any with air dry clay yet. Mine was always baked before. I love these little guys!

I am a quilter and have been Quilting for more than 40 yrs. but have thought for a while now that working with clay would be fun. Just not sure I’m creative enough to think of what to make! I really liked your video tutorials. Thank you.
That’s great, Mary. My advice is to just enjoy the process. There is something therapeutic about working with clay, much like quilting I imagine. Have fun with it and start with something simple like a small trinket tray or flat ornaments. I have other air dry clay videos that might give you some ideas. Have fun!

Hello, I plan to make these in gnomes in a library DIY class. Do you have any suggestions for a quick dry method or a fast-drying clay?
