    Loved your teaching. I use an eyeliner brush to glaze tiny spots like eyes. They work better any little paint brushes I have tried.

    These are so cute! I'm a potter north of Seattle. We have the opposite problem here. Plenty of humidity. Things can sometimes take a while to dry.

    We live down in southern Utah and you got that right low humidity in the summer and winter is just as bad indoors.

    I'm back to your gnomes. Love them. what cone do you fire them to in bisque and what glaze do you use and fire to for completion. I just love them

      I bisque fire to c cone 04, then glaze fire 5/6. For glazes, I like celadons if I have texture.

    I was looking for something that I could quickly make to put on a Found Art Trail and I think these would be perfect. I could make a few small ones in no time and nestle them along the walking trail. Thank you so much for the idea and the informative video!

    Thank you so much for this video. Mine are drying now but I have a few questions. Do you fire first and then glaze and fire again? How do I keep the stamping to show through the glaze?

      Yes, bisque fire then glaze. I use celadon glazes that highlight texture. Celadons are great for these fellows.

    I have made three gnomes and they are drying, this is the second time that I have viewed your post and I did see something that I should do easier. I am going to watch Tree trunk houses and then witches. These are for future events. The three that I made had taken me 3 hours. No doubt as I get into the rhythm of making witches, gnomes, and tree houses I will become a little faster. Do you say how you glaze these beauties and do you use "Duncan, Mayco, or another brand?

      Keep at it, they do get faster, lol. I use whatever glazes or underglazes, I have on hand. You can go crazy glazing them. 😀

    Do you ever use air dry clay for your projects? Are these gnomes then fired and painted?

      If you use air dry clay, built a support with tinfoil. These are stoneware and fired with glaze.

      I don't have the template, but it's just a triangle with the bottom rounded a bit. You can make the template any size you want. The one I used in the video is 6x6x6.

    how do you keep the clay from sticking to the tool. I am going to use air dry clay

      I don't know about air dry clay. I know it's sticky, so maybe try corn starch? My stoneware doesn't stick to wood. Good luck.

      I'm using stoneware here that requires it to be fired in a kiln. But I've heard from others who have made them our of air dry clay.

      They are MKM rollers. Check out Sanbao transfers. On their drop down menu they have a bunch of rollers. Good luck.

      I'm not tech savvy enough to figure out how. I cut it out of craft foam, just making a pizza slice. Pretty easy. Cut a bunch of different slices from a big circle and see which one works best for you. Good luck.
