Our lovely attacking rugby has delivered nothing. Yes, we hammered Toulouse 2 years in a row playing great rugby. Doesn't matter, as we couldn't deliver in a final. Our issue hasn't been attacking rugby. Its been getting out muscled and out smarted. LaR are a great team, but they play the dark arts well. We gassed ourselves in the first 25 minutes of that final, lost James Ryan and they switched gears by playing a belligerent mean game, and just bullied us. Then anytime we had a sniff, they went down injured and took the momentum away. We need to be playing smarter cup rugby. Who cares if you score 10 tries. You only need to win by 1 point. Go back to basics. Play smart cup rugby, and focus on defense
🇿🇦 Leinster will win everything this year and the style over substance crowd still won’t get it.
There are no points for style
@@jacqloock exactly. Great teams adapt to what’s in front of them. SA did it in the WC. They need to play excellent running rugby? Cool, let’s put 80 points past Romania. They need to deal with a fit French team? Cool, let’s play my fittest 23 and go at them with attacking rugby. They need to beat an English team that have been playing smart cup rugby? Cool, let’s revert to a no tomorrow cup rugby style and use our set piece to grind out a win. They adapt. Leinster need to adapt, we can’t try play the same game against everyone, because it ain’t working
@Cpchurch87 Did Bod not see Leinster's 7 tries to one performance against the Bulls 29/3/2024 I don't really see a problem with their attack. Why is there always these perceived problems with Leinster ?
@@gerrygeraghty4992 He's paid by TNT not to know about stuff like that
It’s time to win trophies. They’re still scoring plenty of tries. It’s about winning.
When has Leinster won the CC in the last 5 yrs playing their "fluid" attacking style?" Same old Irish (and Kiwi) argument about playing attractive rugby(whatever that means). Defense wins finals.
I really respect Brian but this is rubbish what the hell did stuart lancaster actually win as a international coach compared to Jacque nienaber .Leinster scored 7 tries against the blue bulls so i really think this is a silly analysis so early in the new coaches role at the club .
Everyone wants to see expansive running rugby but take a look at club championships and world cups when there is massive pressure. Stats dictate great defense and teams that are the most disciplined with a decent kicker win most of those matches .
🇿🇦 Come home, Jacques, to where results are valued over aesthetics
And where gold cups are more valued too ……🏆🏆🏆🏆😂😂😂
Agreed. Been to Ireland a few times and really enjoyed the people but listening to their pundits I'm starting to develop some animosity towards Ireland. Our pundits aren't so scathing and cynical of their rugby.
Already having a go at Nienaber 😮
Becoming less of an on-the-ball team. Leinster seem to think they need to go there.
