No it isn't. The poorest people in London can't afford cars.. Also, I am a business that is affected by the ULEZ and everyone campaigning against ULEZ is receiving my online support. However it is important to keep conspiracy theories out of it. This is just a completely thoughtless money making scheme. The effects may well drive some people out of London, and may even result in a few deaths, but those are not the reasons for the scheme.

I find it slightly surprising my 2014 6.3V8 is ULEZ compliant. Gets about 8mpg in London traffic.
But the little old lady with a 1litre fiesta a few years older that gets 40+mpg gets fined off the road.

It's not a fine. Only the courts have the right to fine people. It's a charge, and if you disagree with it, don't pay it or offer a peppercorn payment per year, say 52p a year.

If the hotel can show a loss as a result of the mayor and tfls' action surely they should be able to bring an action for compensation apparently businesses in glasgow are doing this, greater london businesses should do the same

I remember the Red Route on the A1 ruining businesses in Holloway and Archway. Rows of shops all shut down and the local government did nothing to save them. The car drivers did not want it. The local people did not want it. As a car driver, I observed no increase in traffic flow. It just destroyed local businesses. It did however make a lot of money in parking fines as delivery trucks and vans had no choice but to stop. They eventually created delivery parking areas but trade from passing car drivers will never come back.
Which will mean a happy Sadiq Khan..a soon to be empty hotel, which he can then fill with illegal immigrants.
London alreday has the cleanest air of any city of comparable size, in the world.
Air pollution in London is no worse than any other UK city, and is virtually non-existent compared to 40 years ago.

The London mayoral elections are now counted by computer scaning machines, the 'ballot papers' are 'special'; The London assembly bought them (from the US) in the year before Khan was first elected. These machines are made by a company called Dominion, and the software if from a company called Smartmatic. It has been shown in the US that these machines can be manipulated, and programmed (remotely) to manipulate the count. Khan was installed by his masters, ie the elections are 'rigged'.

The elephant in the room that nobody seems to mention is that the MOT certifies whether a car complies with the Regulations on Emissions (EU Standards at that!) so how can this whole charade be deemed fair and reasonable?
There needs to be a class-action lawsuit against Khan. This simply must be actionable.
Wait until goods prices start going up as retailers pass on the ulez cost. Followed by property prices start dropping as people try to move out and no one moves in.
It'll be the same as it was in the areas around Hertfordshire when I was a kid in the late 70's and 80's. the "wrong people" bought the first expensive house in a street or crescent. When all the neighbor's started selling their houses the prices dropped and more of the wrong people moved in taking over the whole street. The property will be lived in after this and sold cheap, there is a pile of hotel dwellers just waiting to get their hands on them with government help.
It is what the « 15mn city » is all about… Paris is going the same way too… The people taking these decisions aren’t affected by them so it is from their point of view all good !

If this was about the environment you would charge anyone that has a car bigger than a 1.2 litre. There is no way in hell a 5 litre Bentley can be better for the environment than a 1 litre Nissan Micra from 1999.
Unless a ULEZ sign also contains an explanation of what it is and the costs involved, why should it have any effect. Surely DVLA should be obliged to write to every owner of a non compliant car to explain ULEZ and its consequence.
Why should DVLA have to write to everyone. Unless it is made absolutely clear to everyone what is involved and how it works it should not be happening. DVLA probably don't understand it either. Having been to court against TFL over five congestion charges I received in 2016, when I claimed as a Scotsman I was unaware that London had a congestion charge and did not know what their "C" meant, let alone how and when to make payments, TFL argued in court that the congestion charge was well publicised in newspapers and television, and that it is my responsibility to know these things. The court accepted TFL's argument on four of the charges, but did drop one of them. They also accepted my argument that London news is not necessarily national news, and that I am not lawfully required to read newspapers or watch news channels, on one of the charges, but dismissed it on four of the others.
TFL sent letters - I received it. I live outside of London - in Surrey.

We are not in London. We bought a new car (used 2014) did a few tourist trips to London. 3 weeks later got several fines through. First we had heard of it, there was no warning letter like Dartford Bridge, and no budging even when we phoned to pay first fine and offer to pay for the other days we went, because it was 3 weeks ago they said we would just have to pay the fine. Its ridiculous. Ulez is the wrong move and only hurts the individuals in Britain. The approach mentioned on this video would have been a lot better idea if it was only health at concern and not making cash from citizens

The cost of a weeks visit to London could get you a fortnight in the Maldives all inclusive 5star sea plane transfer and business class seats from london to Male. It's a no brainer .
I have just applied to Toyota to confirm that my car's engine emission conforms to Ulez's requirement even though TFL's database says it does not. This will cost £75 to Toyota to provide a Certificate of Conformity which I will then pass onto TFL for my car's exemption to Ulez.

I know this hotel. I have used it a few times as ut has beautiful gardens.This year in march, we had my MIL's wake there. It is a beautiful hotel & such a shame I am not going to be visiting it.
