    Wow, I've been searching for some of these answers for 3 years now. Internet is a blessing if we can ask the right questions.

    I've just had my left left stripped for the second time which has been diagnosed as Klippel-Trenaunay syndrome.
    I've also had 2 separate rounds of injections hoping this will be the last for my left leg.
    However I've started with varicose veins on my right leg now and I'm hoping that I will be offered Laser treatment as they are very painful.
    I'm very fit and health this condition really does effect my job as a Personal Trainer and Fitness Instructor I wear compression sock at grade 3 on both as well as compression pants this helps manage the condition a lot while I'm teaching various types of Fitness classes.
    Fingers crossed I can get the right sorted out as I've been in a lot of pain and discomfort for a couple of years now.

    I had my vein stripped on nhs.I wasn't given a choice of treatment.i didn't realise other options make it less likely to return

      Fatty I am sorry to hear this. The evidence of increased recurrence rates after surgical stripping (neovascularisation) has been known for many years now. Nice Guidance was updated in 2013 - see www.nice.org.uk/guidance/cg168/resources/guidance-varicose-veins-in-the-legs-pdf
      If your NHS treatment was performed after 2013, you should have expected a discussion about endothermal options. Unfortunately, NHS treatment for veins is not always optimal.

    Thank you for the information . I have a VV behind my knee and runs a little down my leg. My mom had them too. I was looking for doctors in my area and the one is using Venefit™ using the CLOSURE RFS Stylet. Is this a procedure you would use? Would this do away with the ugly vein? I just need to know what is the best procedure. You want your legs to look better coming out then when you went in. What are some questions i need to ask the vein doctors?
    How to be sure i chose the right doctor to do the job? Thank you again.

    When a vein is sealed or destroyed, will it not affect blood circulation in the leg?

    • @VeinCareAcademy
      @VeinCareAcademy  6 лет назад +2

      Great question, thank you. If the vein is abnormal and affected by reflux, then closing the vein actually improves the circulation. We will make a video on this subject to answer your question in detail.

    Thank u so much for videos!! Very informing!! I have had varicose veins for many years. I have a spot on the inside of my left leg... Its hard to the touch, very tender, red, swollen, itchy, and has heat. Its oval n shape approximately the size just larger than a golf ball. I have been elevating the leg at night when I sleep only to wake up and can hardly walk on that leg. I went to the ER today. The doc there did a blood test for infection said there was no infection. Told me to take an asprin & do warm compression. Do u have any suggestions?? Is there someone u would recommend in Little Rock or Hot Springs, AR I could have look at it?? Thank u for ur time!!

    I recently had 2 procedures done which wasn't bad. But, after a few days of the procedure the pain was horrible and I was unable to walk each time for several days. (Laser I didn't feel at all)

  • @ОльгаВоробьева-щ8ю

    Thanks a lot for your video, Doc. It's very interesting. What is your opinion on wearing anti-varicose stockings constantly? Different doctors have different opinions. As for me, I take then on only when I fly abroad.

    hi. i'm 32 year old. i start suffering for varicose vein.i also have a lot of little red spire vein all over my two legs. i went to a cardiovascular doctor to do a venous duplex in both of my lower extremity legs. He want to do a venoseal treatment. do you think this procedure helps to prevent the appearance of more varicose vein . Thanks so much for your help and time

      *venaseal

    • @VeinCareAcademy
      @VeinCareAcademy  8 лет назад

      Thank you for your question. Your duplex ultrasound scan will determine whether your veins are suitable for Venaseal® and your own specialist will be able to advise you of the expected outcome. In general, Venaseal® is an excellent treatment for Great Saphenous or Small Saphenous Vein Reflux and if your visible varicose veins and red veins are caused by reflux in the saphenous veins, you should expect a significant visual improvement.

    Does laser treatment make the veins less likely to reoccur.

    • @VeinCareAcademy
      @VeinCareAcademy  7 лет назад

      Endothermal ablation (laser and radiofrequency ) is associated with lowest recurrence rate compared with other types of treatment.

    Does the varicose veins worsen if I undergo Rigorous training? Such as running? Another, do compression stockings help or not? Thankyou so much.

    • @VeinCareAcademy
      @VeinCareAcademy  6 лет назад

      People who do a lot of training do tend to have prominent veins. This is normal. Compression stockings may help but the medical evidence is lacking.

      What ever we do, nothing will cure it. It is a mulfunction with no remedies. When a varice occurs is becose damages to the flaps that push back the blood and the flaps are not able to help blood to go back to your heart. Various treatments can ease your pains and discomfort. Never to heal it.

    I’ve had varicose veins since the age of 10 and my first operation I had was when I was 14. I’m now 44 and after having many treatments done I still am very concerned that I am a high risk to getting DVT? Please can you tell me any more information on wether there is evidence to show that dvt can be linked to varicose veins and am I at more of a risk because I’ve had problems most of my life?

    ANYONE KNOW WHEN SORENESS IN UPPER THIGH DISAPPEARS AFTER ENDOVENUS LASER TREATNENT IN RIGHT LEG , SO FAR 6 DAYS AND SIDE UPPER IS STILL SORE AND CALF SWOLLEN SLIGHTLY

    • @VeinCareAcademy
      @VeinCareAcademy  6 лет назад +1

      We are sorry to hear that you are experiencing pain after endovenous laser. Not all lasers are equivalent. Early in the development of this procedure, the laser wavelength used was 810nm and people often experienced pain in the treated vein in the thigh. 1470nm lasers cause less pain and radial firing laser fibres cause even less pain. Ask you doctor for information about the type of laser used and laser fibre used. Have you tried applying a non-steroidal analgesic cream or gel to your thigh (check with your pharmacist before using).

    Had my great saphenous veins in both legs lasered 5 years ago. Unfortunately, I then developed reflux in my accessory saphenous vein on one leg and short saphenous vein on the other leg, which I have just had treated.
