I know here in Louisiana if you’re not leaving the state, you don’t need a DOT sticker. But I’m glad you brought up the fact if you’re crossing state line, you better have one lol !!!!!

Im starting out with my first truck from Minnesota. We have road restrictions every year in the spring and the more axles you have the more weight you can carry on small roads.. but if you have to many axels, then you get hung up on the mud and stuck more easy.. Not sure what its the best first truck I should buy
What about dump truck companies to work for and if dump trucks have year round work, what about rainy seasons? Eventually owner operator is ideal but what about for someone to get their feet wet? Owner Operator Dump truck is my backup plan.
You cannot Self teach anymore to obtain a Cdl.
The law changed February 2022 that for everyone getting a cdl has to go through a government approved/certified cdl school

Hi jay i have a question im trying to apply for DOT number on fmcsa and im not sure what category the dump truck would fall under meaning if its motor carrier of property or freight forwarder because its a dump truck and not a tractor trailer. Hi Jay You can apply for the US DOT without having the truck yet?
I believe you only need to have your LLC made already along with a a EIN number.
But I wouldn’t see why you’d want to get a us Dot without a truck.
I’d rather wait till you have the truck then get the DOT number. After completing the registration online, you get your dot number right away.
@@javierlepes4536That’s exactly why a person should get their DOT # prior to the truck. The number will be immediately available. Why wait?! Allow the DOT # to season. Even you said it, “you get your dot number right away.”

Can you start getting the permits before buying the truck ?
Yes depending where you are located, in Texas you must first have a standard US DOT number before you can get a Texas DOT number.
Once you have a USDOT number, you can apply for a TxDMV number. That's when you'll send in insurance requirements to the Texas DMV.

We’re getting 1500 a day for a tri-axle but your working in Manhattan you must know what you doing I was taught at a young age that if you don’t own what’s in the back of the truck you have no right being in the front it’s a totally different ball game
