Thanks for leaving in your boat launch debacle, it shows that you are just one of us guys. Boat launch tip, longer rope with a carabiner hooked to one of your tie down hooks in the bed of you truck. Awesome perch bite, and catching that pike with your stolen jig, priceless.

I would have dropped my draws immediately to get the boat. I don't fear cold water as much as loss of a boat. Great fishing day anyway. I had one day a long time ago fishing for perch with 2pound test ultra light diawa throwing a 16th ounce black beetle no spinner and if they were longer than my foot size 10.5 to size 11 I kept them. Beautiful day early June in Minnesota, no electronics, found a spot with several schools of 30 plus perch came swimming all around the boat. I must have caught close to two hundred that morning and kept forty. Man that was about as much fun as I ever had. The perch you caught, reminded of that. thanks for the video.

Did something similar with my new-to-me boat last year early April. Took the daughters with me to our nearest lake and the painter unclipped from the bow-eye. I had to wade in up to my waist to retrieve it. Still went fishing, and caught a 4 lb lake trout on my ultralight setup when we were targetting perch.

Hey Clayton throw that minnow head away and use the tail end hang jig horizontally and carefully thread the hook thru the body and out the top of the tail squish it up to the jig head but keeper on the down low I hear their sticking lead in the belly’s of walleye to win tournaments that’s like an old episode of beachcombers Relic did the same thing. Great vid beautiful perch friend keep em coming
