I grew up on Big stone and Traverse, and now live right between the two. Jason's right, there's more water in that area than you can fish in a lifetime.

hi i have actualy been to bigstone and i am going back in a couple of weeks and i was wondering what kind of jigs u where using

+Oscar George I think any small jig would work but we had good luck with ice fishing tackle. We used a Clam Pro Tackle Guppy Flutter Spoon below a slip bobber and that had a little flutter and flash the panfish seem to like.

I agree with Steve, don’t make us wait until the video are almost done!
Public speaking 101: tell them what you’re going to do, when you’re gonna do it then how you are doing it.
After then show them specifically how it’s done . .

      Hey Steve,
Looks like they are tipping the little spoons with waxies. Perch will usually also hit worms, minnows or most small lures. In my opinion the most important thing to remember fishing perch in a basin is that they continually move. If the bite stops move till you find them again. Often I go with the wind drift. Tight lines

It would be nice if the DNR told people where they are going....everyone wants more panfish more perch more more more. In the future, it looks like Big Stone is gonna be left with Drum,Bass stunted perch, panfish. Its not people overfishing...............its the birds....its the other fish.......its the cleaner water......
