Thats a great idea! I never considered just straight sewing separate parts together. I always thought these pieces looked too complicated to even attempt but now? I think ill give it a go! No insane mathematics are needed...its just thread!! It turned out GORGEOUS.

Love it!! Today, I saw an ottoman made out of some crochet, some embroidery, some felt at Wayfair. The ottoman was round and was covered in this floral yumminess. It was almost $800.00. I'd love to see you create something similar!

It’s really pretty. Right now it’s a bathing suit top, looks great over a shirt. I think it needs more structure to wear on the street, a crocheted back and wider straps. Great work.

This is adorable! Would you ever use ribbon as straps to tie to make it look a little more finished/lux while still looking handmade? You could also sew on crocheted blooms or petals to make the ribbon more cohesive and camouflaged

I will def be experimenting with a similar top. though.... i do have to say this. the yellow and orange flower at the bottom looks like an egg just because of the colors of it-not the shape because it's def a flower. I still love it but I just had to say it or else it will forever be in my mind. I do love all of the color combos, I can't wait to see what you decide to do to the rest of it.
Edit: speaking of the egg...that could be another cute shirt, like corcheting different foods like pizza, banana, egg, bacon, apple. etc and putting it together into a top or something
You got me into knitting, so I learnt how to knit.
You got me into sewing and now I'm learning how to sew my own clothes.
I can assure you, this top will get me into crocheting too at this point 💀
I'm obsessed with this. Little tops to put over dresses or button-down shirts is my favorite right now. I want to make one of these but since I haven't crocheted in a few years and I only was able to master hats because you can just keep going in a circle and the edges never look crooked, it might take me a year to do! lol

i HIGHLY recommend learning the “flat double crochet join”. it’s everything i love using it so much, it maintains some of the stretchiness inherent to crochet while being a flat join that is not super visible. if u look up “flat double crochet join” here on youtube there’s a tutorial. also of note, it is double crochet in UK terms, so single crochet US for anyone worried abt the spacing between joined pieces
