Thank you for this and all the other videos you do. You pretty much single-handedly got me into and educated me in this hobby. I'm sure countless others could say the same. Try not to wait two years until you're next top knives video!
Steven Cheshire lol, thanks bud. Your collection is quickly becoming insanely awesome, you have some untouchable pieces. If you ever tire of that Sentry, please let me know.
the clip on the Decepticon is beautiful....i don't always think a Mokuti or Timascus clip compliment a custom knife ...but that clip elevates the beauty of what is already a special piece .....and i just love the Rockstead...reminds me of my Microtechs with the sub-frame lock and aluminum body
It is easy to see, even on a (albeit very well done) video, that Frank Fischer's work is that of a gifted metalworker, a skilled artist. With a pedigree and an internship that is nearly unsurpassed, he is destined to become one of the greatest makers on the planet, if not already. Thank you for the entertaining review of your MAG10.
"If I could have sex with a knife it would be this one!" - Jim Skelton I think this quote will go down in history as one of my favorites! Great video Jim! I appreciate you sharing all of that badassery and not keeping it all to yourself!
Can you make a video of your entire current collection? I think that would be really cool to see, and maybe even how you have them displayed in your office or wherever you keep them! Just a thought
Mouth-watering video. My only turn off was the OTF (my hang up). Have you ever guess-ta-mated the street value of your collection? It must be astronomical. I hope you have plans to someday have a knife museum for people like me to come in and try to keep our jaws from touching the ground.
Hey Jim. Know you also collect watches. So what are some of your favorite watches for 2015. Also your thoughts on the Boschett Harpoon please. I am considering to purchase but not much in the way of reviews on this watch. Thank you.
Jim man....I am so lucky i found your channel. just 2 days ago i was wondering what kind of edc knife to get and was kinda learning a bit about the knifes. but then i stumbled upon your kwaiken custom knife and after that RW monster knife, the one with the brown/gold damascus and ivory. which ignited me a remarkable feeling/thing... a passion was ignited! a love for knives which just became stronger with this video. i thank you for that! i really do. i will definitely check your IG as well. ofcourse as a complete novice it wouldnt be so smart to start out with custom knives with an elite privetag so.. i have a question: as a novice I would like to start with collecting edcs. but i currently want to invest not so much on it. sooo could you help me, with some recommendations. like I would really like to hear your top choices for edc under 100$ and under 200$ ( as I will upgrade in the near future). thank you soo much for the vids! its gets me hyped up to see that such futuristic knives exists! And one day...for sure I will be getting some customs one...definetely!!!! Sincerely Your new subscriber :-)
Soo this is the JV top 10 right? You have the Varsity Squad video coming up with the D.O.C and the Stan Wilson NFF. Those are the two most epic blades you have!
Beautiful knife jewellery, awesome construction and wonderful to look at. I wonder though, if they would stand up to Cold Steel type destruction tests. Appreciating that the knives you review are the acme of precision engineering, they are still cutting tools and should be functional as well as pretty. How strong are they? Maybe Andrew Demko could find out..?
Awsome collection of folders! These are truely special (especially those custom fitted one of a kind folders). I must ask, do you actually put them to use, or is it more like eye candy - collection purpose?
okay, I want a custom knife. what is your recommendation for a starter custom knife maker? I don't have just gobs of money laying around but I am a knife fanatic and will splurge on a beast like one of these.
I have to see i have seen numerous top 10 knifes but i have NEVER loved all of them in a video except this one. I can imagine it is probably over $5K if not more for that collection lots of costum ones. Can u please comment or reply as to how much this collection is? Ty
On your Rockstead. I have a Rockstead Kou. And i know what you mean, i fillet my thumb on mine taking the finger print off my thumb when i tried to flick it open for the first time Fear the rockstead ;)
Hey Jim, I'm looking for a knife in the $500-$700 range. So far I am considering a Carbon Fiber Kwaiback and a Bodega Field Grade. Do you have any recommendations for me between those or any others? I really appreciate all you do.
Jim, I've been watching a lot of You Tube knife channels, you seem to show the most expensive the most often. I carry a knife for utility and protection. I love art and would have been an artist if I didn't need to eat. I can see the art in every knife you show. If some one wanted to start collecting knives for pleasure and investment how would you recommend they get educated to start?
I don't get your infatuation with that that Bodaga. It just doesn't do it for me. That's the beautiful thing about the hobby everything is subjective! Its still exciting to see your joy.
I'm totally new to knives and u just blew my fucking mind lol I could only dream for a collection like that very nice!! now I know who to watch when it comes to the good stuff
Shame on you for not including your Tony Marfione D.O.C. with the Nightmare grind, bronze Cassidium DLC coated, hand polished blade in this list... how can you sleep at night ?
"If I was going to have sex with a knife, it would be this one"...Oh I had to pick myself up off of the floor after that one! Glad to see you making another video, Jim! And you have once again made me realize I simply do not make enough money. You honestly sometimes make me feel like I need to find a better job just for the sake of my hobies...damn you, but I love you man!
i saw your review of the halo five on the bladeops page in a thumbnail thingy, any way you mentioned no way to carry i bought a halo, and one for a close bud and they both came in short kydex sheaths that just covered the deploy button and the knife came away by thumbing the fold of the kydex thus releasing the grip of the sheath, the sheath could be attached to a tek-loc belt clip and be carried vertically or horizontal on your belt,or not attached to anything ,and suspended from a neck chain, btw marfione had a very small otf earlier before they restructured the company in the '80s i heard that the ever-ready battery co. ended up with the patent ,tmi?but they were very odd knives because the blade was fixed and the sheath retracted into the handle(what's that called "r.i.t.h.knife" ,go figure !! he must of been up all night on that!if you know of this knife since your knowledge and blade lore is fathomless and my info is all hearsay i'd sure like to see someone else who has seen these little pop-knives,sorry to go off topic, and being so windy, later bubba!!
Yeah, I'd fuck those knives... although it sounds like a painful, dangerous, and confusing act. Only a Top 9 list, really, since the HALO was an honorable mention. Oh well. The Fischer is perfect, of course, and the Turpin/Baruscha collab (yes, 15:58 - yikes! I missed it, but going back it looks like it just a brush of the spine with a glancing blow against the clip... phew) is a personal favorite. I was a bit surprised the Custom Division Hati didn't make it, but damn... that's some tight competition. The Kirby Lambert, too. Amazing.
dacathey Ha! Holy shit you're right. I kept pulling some out, putting others back and going back and forth so much that I clearly lost count. Dammit LOL
Jim Skelton Well at least you had the honorable mention so that you at least showed ten knives you love. I realized by the end that there weren't ten and decided to scan the comments to make sure you hadn't already answered this.
ernietessein Actually, my DUB Impact would definitely have been in there, but it is currently with Chris getting an upgraded pivot and a stronger detent. It is due back in a day or two. But yes... we can call that "in there" for sure.
Thats a Hand crafted piece of art work. Its not like he takes it camping and stabs it into dirt...A knife you can hold you can cut you can open and fondle some people collect stamps and what enjoyment do you get from that? You put them in a case and look at them but most of the time they just sit. I love when people say You bought a Knife for xxxx amount of money and you could have gone to walmart and get a gerber for 10 bucks.. A family friend collects art work and has one painting worth like 50,000 instant cash. So should I tell him go to walmart and get some Lithograph and save 49,980 and get a copy?
Added this to my favorites... There are only 4 other vids in my favorites and this vid deserves a spot
Man.... brother Jim....... you have a gorgeous collection of knives......wow!!!!! I'm literally blown away....... keep up the awesome work...
Love love love that Southard. Such a handsome piece. Beautiful details without being in any way over-done. Subtle perfection.
"He nailed it.He nailed everything about this knife" No,he didnt...i believe he used screws.
Did your father tell you that joke? Lol 😂
Mate you have some amazing knives ! that rockstead blade finish is nuts !!!
the clip on the Decepticon is beautiful....i don't always think a Mokuti or Timascus clip compliment a custom knife ...but that clip elevates the beauty of what is already a special piece .....and i just love the Rockstead...reminds me of my Microtechs with the sub-frame lock and aluminum body
That was 20 minutes of pure heaven. and now if you will excuse me I need to go change my shorts!!
Just love your reviews, Jim ! You really , REALLY do it in your unique style , LOVE` em ALL !
Great vid Jim , I love the overkill and the Bodega probably my 2 favorite of yours. Even tho it was only 9. I guess the halo makes 10, loved it.
Top ten knife collection WOW collect a knife or two myself but UK laws are very tight, great collection and videos keep them coming!🔪
Just stumbled across your channel and I'm now hooked. Amazing collection.
It is easy to see, even on a (albeit very well done) video, that Frank Fischer's work is that of a gifted metalworker, a skilled artist. With a pedigree and an internship that is nearly unsurpassed, he is destined to become one of the greatest makers on the planet, if not already. Thank you for the entertaining review of your MAG10.
your number 2 knife looks like a red bird! loved that design!
Great, great video! Awesome collection. Thanks Jim!
"If I could have sex with a knife it would be this one!" - Jim Skelton I think this quote will go down in history as one of my favorites! Great video Jim! I appreciate you sharing all of that badassery and not keeping it all to yourself!
The Airbornes flipper is an awesome design. I really dig it.
Can you make a video of your entire current collection? I think that would be really cool to see, and maybe even how you have them displayed in your office or wherever you keep them! Just a thought
Thank you for updating this list. Had to laugh when I realized you couldn't cut it down to seven!
The blue on that first knife is sooo pretty
The sound of that GTC is amazing
All gorgeous works of art. Thanks for posting. :)
Sublime collection. Dissapointed no Striders. Congrats jim.
Goddamn! That's like 6000$$$ worth of quality knives on the table...You sir are a ballah!
Mouth-watering video. My only turn off was the OTF (my hang up). Have you ever guess-ta-mated the street value of your collection? It must be astronomical. I hope you have plans to someday have a knife museum for people like me to come in and try to keep our jaws from touching the ground.
Badass top 10, Jim. However, I didn't see the Stan Wilson Non-flipper flipper. It didn't make the cut?
Home late from work, eating Taco Bell, have my 1997 microtech LUDT and Medford TFF-1, and now Jim skeleton vid....tonight's awesome ;) lol
Just fucking awesome!! I'm speechless, this is the best of the best knife video I've seen (and I've seen a lot)
Hey Jim. Know you also collect watches. So what are some of your favorite watches for 2015. Also your thoughts on the Boschett Harpoon please. I am considering to purchase but not much in the way of reviews on this watch. Thank you.
Damn, I would lose my left ball to own any one of these knives. Great vid !
Man would I love a collection like that maybe one day but as of not I got a bunch of really nice SPYDERCOS and I love em.
I actually did a fist pump when you brought out your overkill! I love that freaking piece of art more than my next breath of air!!!
John Ferreira It really is an amazing piece and showing it on video doesn't even do it justice to be honest.
+Jim Skelton I must admit that the mirror polish and detail in that pivot does get me a tad excited
Beautiful knife jewellery, awesome construction and wonderful to look at. I wonder though, if they would stand up to Cold Steel type destruction tests. Appreciating that the knives you review are the acme of precision engineering, they are still cutting tools and should be functional as well as pretty. How strong are they? how dare you talk of abusing these fine specimens of knife artistry! lol
Jonathan Berumen
Sorry.... ;)
Awsome collection of folders! These are truely special (especially those custom fitted one of a kind folders). I must ask, do you actually put them to use, or is it more like eye candy - collection purpose?
Thank You. I use them all or they get sold if I don't. I also go more greatly into detail on the individual videos of each knife.
Great vid. How about a top 10 knives under $1000?
That rockstead is gorgeous....

okay, I want a custom knife. what is your recommendation for a starter custom knife maker? I don't have just gobs of money laying around but I am a knife fanatic and will splurge on a beast like one of these.
How do you get in contact with the tritium bead guy
Ugh, that airborne is freaking beast. I'll take it off your hands for you if ya don't want it xD
What did you do with the Alan Folts- Inertia that knife was amazing looking; and how much did you get it for??
Brandon Rennier I sent it back to the dealer right away. As mentioned, there were flaws in it that I couldn't live with.
I have to see i have seen numerous top 10 knifes but i have NEVER loved all of them in a video except this one. I can imagine it is probably over $5K if not more for that collection lots of costum ones. Can u please comment or reply as to how much this collection is? Ty

Keylan Roberts CRK Large 21
That sneakpeak though.....

I love art and would have been an artist if I didn't need to eat. I can see the art in every knife you show. I was hoping to see a Tuff in there somewhere.
is kirby mgt a one off?
do u have any fixed blades
No Medford praetorian or microtech doc? I was thinking those would be in for sure.
I don't get your infatuation with that that Bodaga. It just doesn't do it for me. That's the beautiful thing about the hobby everything is subjective! Its still exciting to see your joy.
Dustin Edmiston same here. Bought and sold ever one I’ve owned... something just doesn’t connect for me personally.
I almost thought for sure your Tanic Wharnclif, the zirconium framelock, and the stan wilson non flipper would be in this vid.
darkgodofdeath As mentioned in the description... many great could not be fit in.
I'm totally new to knives and u just blew my fucking mind lol I could only dream for a collection like that very nice!! now I know who to watch when it comes to the good stuff
Pants and underwear off. Ready to watch.
Shame on you for not including your Tony Marfione D.O.C. with the Nightmare grind, bronze Cassidium DLC coated, hand polished blade in this list... how can you sleep at night ?
SpaceFrawg Sorry, they can't all make it in!
Jim Skelton You have to look at yourself in the mirror, not me :)
Jim Skelton Don't you think you should at least get it out and hold it, maybe talk to it a little bit ?
SpaceFrawg lol
Stan Wilson didn't make the cut?
Quite a collection
Your Sebastian Larsson and your southard would be my favorites of your tope ten... just bananas
surprised that an rj martin didnt make it on this list!
What about the non flipper flipper? That thing is incredible xD too each their own i suppose :)

How many knives do you own now?
i saw your review of the halo five on the bladeops page in a thumbnail thingy, any way you mentioned no way to carry i bought a halo, and one for a close bud and they both came in short kydex sheaths that just covered the deploy button and the knife came away by thumbing the fold of the kydex thus releasing the grip of the sheath, the sheath could be attached to a tek-loc belt clip and be carried vertically or horizontal on your belt,or not attached to anything ,and suspended from a neck chain, btw marfione had a very small otf earlier before they restructured the company in the '80s i heard that the ever-ready battery co. ended up with the patent ,tmi?but they were very odd knives because the blade was fixed and the sheath retracted into the handle(what's that called "r.i.t.h.knife" ,go figure !! he must of been up all night on that!if you know of this knife since your knowledge and blade lore is fathomless and my info is all hearsay i'd sure like to see someone else who has seen these little pop-knives,sorry to go off topic, and being so windy, later bubba!!
All beautiful beautiful pieces but nothing well ever come even close to that Battle imho.
"It cuts shit very well"

I'm surprised your Stan Wilson didn't make an appearance
Jim that was only 9 knives plus the honorable mention Halo.
dacathey Ha! Holy shit you're right. I kept pulling some out, putting others back and going back and forth so much that I clearly lost count. Dammit LOL
Jim Skelton Well at least you had the honorable mention so that you at least showed ten knives you love. I realized by the end that there weren't ten and decided to scan the comments to make sure you hadn't already answered this.

хоть и непонятно ни хера, но камера у него хорошая, свет правильный, можно просто любоваться. Лови лайк, Джим!
What knife do you actually use day-to-day? Not being a wiseass, just curious.
jln6701 I carry every knife I own. If I notice that I pass over any particular knife and never carry or use it, I sell it.
what does jim do for a living? (i'm new to this channel) Damn looking at his collection i'm jealous af
Geez Brad, Whats up with sharpening on the tarsus? Pretty wonky plunge grind for a custom. Looks like a gas station knife.
"It is a beast. I put this in their hand. They hold it and go, 'Holy shit.' Not only because of the massive thickness..."
Yosef Estill thats what she said
I think that was 9 plus the halo. Can't believe no phantom steelworks
ernietessein Actually, my DUB Impact would definitely have been in there, but it is currently with Chris getting an upgraded pivot and a stronger detent. It is due back in a day or two. But yes... we can call that "in there" for sure.
$1,250 for a knife? Did that come with a complimentary reach around?
Thats a Hand crafted piece of art work. Its not like he takes it camping and stabs it into dirt...A knife you can hold you can cut you can open and fondle some people collect stamps and what enjoyment do you get from that?
